Rick doesn't resent Jerry for taking Beth away from HIM per se, but rather because Jerry got Beth pregnant in high school and ruined whatever chances she had at living up to her full potential by forcing her to settle for a mundane life with kids and a husband.
Rick was being honest when he apologized to Jerry. He didn't know of the plot to kill him. Rick doesn't respect Jerry enough to lie to him, especially now since he doesn't have to be cordial to Jerry for Beth's sake. After all, he tells Jerry right away, at the beginning of the episode that this is a pity adventure for Morty's sake. This actually makes Rick's apology even more genuine and heartfelt, as he came to that conclusion after spending 1-on-1 time with Jerry and actually enjoying it, without having any Rick agenda set up beforehand.
I do agree that Rick did sincerely apologized at Jerry, but because he have a hidden agenda for it. Since they are basically inside that immortality field, Rick wanted for Jerry to vent out all his anger to him. And if Jerry did tried to kill him, Rick would have a good reason to kill him back. In a way, I think Rick originally planned it that way so that they could kill each other with no holds bar and without any consequences afterwards. So that they could fully enjoy and take advantage of that place.
The part with the little girl getting shot still gets me. When I first saw it felt like that was the moment that the show really got darker with its humor. It was shocking, but fun seeing other people react to that bit. And the "Don't play with guns, kids" part was gold haha.

The trippy wormhole thing wasn’t what normally happens. When jerry bit risoto, he accidentally shot a electronic panel that dealt with the temporal shield. With the temporal shield down the wormhole did its thing

That trippy sequence doesn’t happen every time they go through a wormhole. When the big blue alien knocks away Jerry, he damages the temporal shield of the ship, which I assume prevents that whole sequence from happening.
Rick: "I didn't respect your marriage, I certainly didn't do it any favors.." Rick just admitted that he never liked Jerry because he married Beth. And for you to have a genius father in-law as an enemy is really dangerous. He can easily undermine and destroy their relationship, and he can do it without anybody knowing that he did it.
HOLD UP A SECOND!! Have I missed the fact that the bad guy in this episode is Long Feng from ATLA on my countless rewatches? I always find new things to love!
That isnt Rick's original body with the cybernetics. In the season opener he kept switching his conscious into different bodies so who knows if he even knew he had those in his body.
Remember, that's not Rick's original body. His original body was shot in the head and he went through multiple other bodies during his prison escape, dismantling of a government and attack on the Citadel. He probably wasn't even aware that it had cybernetic enhancements. If he had known, he would have found a way around the scan. Using body parts is more of a feeling anyway, intelligence doesn't help you with that. Although, the knowledge that they're there would help a little. I think finding out during the scan allowed him to access them but to use all of the features will require practice. He settled on the simplest thing in his new repertoire (the suction cup) and thankfully, it worked.
Bro, please keep doing Rick and Morty. I have finished all the 4 season and boy, what a hell of a ride!! It just keep getting so much better, funny and mindfuck lol. Also One Punch Man too! The finale season 1 is just insane! The season 2 is... not so much but it necessary to build up
If that kind of immortality tech exists, then surely it'd have better uses in a military application?? Like, if you had a force-field that surrounded your immediate body skin-tight, then you could essentially make invulnerable soldiers. You don't even need to make loads of them if they're THAT invulnerable!
Morty takes another big step toward being a Rick and he might have ruined the new Anatomy Park. @ He may care about about Beth in general but doesn't care about any particular Beth, he was fine leaving the original one we were with when he Cronenberged the planet. We know that Beth found happiness once Rick and Morty were out of her life. Rick is caring when it is convenient for him since he believes he's everyone's #1.
I enjoy this episode so dark. I actually think the biggest takeaway of these few first episodes, and specially with the end of this episode, is that Morty has a darkness. It's been shown before specially in season 2, but yeah my theory is that Mortys can easily become like the Evil Morty, so that's why Rick is the way he is with Morty. Makes Morty feel more dumb and less capable than he actually is. And this is truly just a theory I haven't seen season 4 yet and I know you guys already watched the Ricklantis Mixup thats why I'm mentioning it.
I'm still really annoyed That I never got this episode replaced on my d v d from this season. Apparently when the 3rd season 1st came out, this episode was messed up on a lot of DVD's, they were supposed to replace them if you sent in a ticket, but no one ever got back to me
I feel like this would have been really easy for Jerry to talk his way out of. Just say that he agreed to help kill Rick to get himself out of there and then saved Rick on the ride. But then I remembered this is Jerry we're talking about.
Not at all. A few episodes back, Summer married that Mad Max guy without giving a damn about Ethan. Why shouldn't Ethan be free to date whoever he wants? The problem is Summer is behaving like a clingy baby here. Morty saw her cry, and like with all white knights, he is not interested in facts or justice, he just wants to get the guy that made his sister cry.
This isn't one of my favourite episodes, but it's Rick and Morty so its still pretty good. The next two episodes are some of my favourites, especially episode 7, The Ricklantis Mixup!
Beth was freaking out at the start and morty didnt tell rick to do anything to jery... beth refused ricks help and that tells me that she told rick to kill jery. (Just a theory)
Poor ethan. All he did was drop insecure toxic summer for a nice girl who shared his love for french cinema. And then she was slandered simply for having large breasts. Really reminds you how awful the entire sanchez/morty family is.
In my honest opinion,I really do NOT Like Jerry smith,he always manages to disappoint his family all the time and he's such a screw up,his own children morty and summer don't even respect him.
beth is also really desperate to fit into rick's world and she blindly believe that she can solve this for being rick's daugther, a worker in medical field and an adult, that's why she dismisses morty's advice, beth is same as rick in apathy, arrogance, irresponsability and shallowness, but she don't take count that morty knows more about rick's stuff and she is just belittleing him, medicine isn't engineering
im also glad that summer and beth talked things out that ethan wasn't worthed and morty got more assertive of giving that buttplug what he deserves, summer shouldve known that from her mad max husband
