    I have this car in the 2020 year. It has HDA and overall the car is amazing 10/10. Will be keeping this car for very long as it is VERY well rounded and has many many features. This car won't be outdated for another 10 years. My fav features are the temperature remote start, pano sun roof, how spacy it is, HDA and ACC, rear ac/heating vents, red stitching. My only gripe is the MPG could be better with higher prices these days but I get 36 on the highway and 26/27 local. Also it is SUPRISINGLY fast when you put it in sport mode, the torque and acceleration handles very well to the point where the tires skid if you accelerate too fast

      It definitely is a feature packed vehicle! I am glad to hear all of the positive aspects you enjoy about it. The 1.6T is quick but I would have to opt for the N-Line if I were to purchase one just because I have gotten used to the 1.6T in my Elantra GT. 😁

    Definitely the trim level I’m interested in , love the look of the taillights. The Bose system is a must.

      She might have a higher trim that includes the sunroof. Overall, the Sonata hasn't changed much since the 2020MY. Glad to hear yours is still running strong.

    This is the car I want. It has most the bells and whistles I am use to in my 2.0t sport accord but I want to save money and NEED a good sound system. The accord speakers are TERRIBLE.
    Thanks for this video. You covered everything!

    I've noticed Hyundai dropping tech features common on mid tier trims of years past, and only on top trims in 2023... things like HDA, parking assist, Homelink... they're vanishing on mid trims.... im pretty sure it's specific to the "chip shortage", that instead of having 500,000 Homelink chips, they only have 100,000 or whatever, so they limit it to top trims only.
    I had Homelink and parking assist on my old Tucson SEL, but both vanished on my 2023 Tucson Hybrid SEL. I ended up adding a Homelink mirror after I bought the car... not spending an extra $5K just to get a few features.

    In your opinion, which is the better value, the SEL w/convenience package or the SEL Plus? MSRP difference is ~$2300. Main upgrades appear to be engine, seats, sound system, wheels

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  Год назад +1

      Yes, those differences look correct to me also. Personally, I would say that the differences are worth it. It's a valid question because there aren't many differences but the engine to me is the one that stands out. Some might want an N/A engine vs the Turbo but I would opt for the Turbo. All in all the upgrades are key features for me so yes I would say it's worth it.

    I’m not a fan of the 1.6 turbo engine. I want the 2.5 for long term reliability. I plan on keeping my car for at least 8 years. What would you choose to get extra reliability?

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  Год назад

      You would be covered under warranty for 10 years/100k miles for either engine option if you purchase new. Personally, I feel comfortable enough with the 1.6T reliability wise that I would go that route. If you want the 2.5, that is also a good option however it is a newer engine design. They aren't making significantly different power numbers unless you opt for the N-Line but the main factor would be you are limited to the 1.6T if you want more options.

    • @wolfshanze5980
      @wolfshanze5980 Год назад

      The 1.6L Turbo is a well established reliable engine... I bought a 2018 Tucson with the same engine, drove it for 5 years had ZERO issues. I loved it so much I bought a 2023 Tucson Hybrid with the same 1.6L Turbo engine... it's a great engine with an established track record and backed with a 100,000 mile, 10 year warranty!

    Didn't Hyundai make the projector headlights standard on all trims for Sonata's built after December 2022?

  • @combatveteranusnavy2012
    @combatveteranusnavy2012 Год назад

    I have a 2022 KIA Forte GT, with the 1.6 liter as well. What I can't understand is why KIA makes my 1.6 liter with 201 horsepower. The Sonata weights 300 pounds more than my Forte. Why reduce the horsepower in a much heavier car. Could it be the 8-speed automatic can't handle the extra power?

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  Год назад

      It's a fair question. I don't know exactly why Hyundai rates certain models with the 1.6T lower than the 201hp/195tq in their sporty models. I know back in the day people dyno'd the Kona 1.6T that were rated at 175hp/195tq and they actually made equal power to the cars rated at 201hp. It might just come down to tuning between the vehicles.

      Sonata 1.6 is a completely different engine.

  • @cattrek
    @cattrek Год назад

    I want to be clear on this. Yes, the SEL Plus and Limited have a, 1.6 engine and its Horsepower is 181 Hp, but the 2.5 on its own has a 191 Horsepower just in the engine itself, so you are not getting more horsepower through the Turbo and 1.6 engine like he says. Just saying.

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  Год назад +1

      The 1.6T has 11hp less horsepower but 14 lb-ft more torque at 1500 RPM. The peak power is made much lower in the rev band in the 1.6T vs the 2.5 engine.

    • @cattrek
      @cattrek Год назад

      @@CarsMadeSimple Works for me. But Ive always liked the more simple things. Turbos have had problems in the past, while normal was just what it was. I guess people need to just pick their poison. I would still stick with the 2.5. But thank you for explaining that.

    I cannot under why Hyundai does not use the 1.6-liter 201hp 7 speed dual clutch engine with better performance?

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  Год назад

      The engine output is likely negligible over the N-Line output if you measured the wheel horsepower via a dyno.

    Are these engines reliable ??

    • @CarsMadeSimple
      @CarsMadeSimple  2 года назад

      Yes, I would say the 1.6T is very reliable. It has been one of the newer engines without any major recalls and has been used in some variation of vehicle since the 2013MY Veloster Turbo. It has gotten a few updates more recently and I have not seen any issues. My personal vehicle uses the 1.6T engine and I am very involved in the Hyundai community and most everyone is happy with it as long as you do basic maintenance.
