@@kristat1989 glad to hear I'm not the only one. When I have tried to in the past I forget more stuff then when I hurry 2 hours before I leave. Ot is very interesting to see how we all do things so differently in this crazy world
It’s actually really good that you got new beds for each dog, as some dogs will refuse to use a previously owned pup item! I experienced that with my new pup not wanting to use our old dogs beds no matter how much they were washed. She won’t even go in our previous pups favorite room in the house for extended periods of time.
So exciting! I’m really interested in learning about how Mira does things differently from my guide dog school. It sounds like the schedule is much more flexible than ours so I’m interested how they time things out.
I am very curious to see how they match the dogs. At the school I attend we are just handed the leash and in less the dog is not wanting to walk at all for us, we are stuck with them. So I love that at Molly’s guide dog school they don’t pre-match. More schools should do this.
@@mansiondionne I wish more schools took Mira's matching approach too! It sounds WILD to me that they pre-match and you/the dog get no say. It's honestly one of the biggest reasons I'd be scared to switch schools... I like having the chance to try different dogs and work WITH the trainers to pick the best match!
Yes I’m based in the UK and we are pre-matched with a dog. We fill out all of our details and requirements in application form and when dogs come through it’s one of the things they look through to see whether the dog will be a suitable match and they do what is called a matching walk so they bring out the dog and see how you work together and if they think it looks good, he will then go on training with that dog. I love hearing how other schools around the world do it. :-).
@Molly Burke yeah, the school I work for roughly prematches but has other dogs to try out if one dog doesn’t work out. Unfortunately, because of COVID we’ve not been having as many successful dogs which means our classes are quite small. I don’t think we would able to use Mira’s method if we wanted to due to the number of class ready dogs we have available. I wonder if Mira has a smaller rate of returns, they are quite rare for us but every once in a while we have to take back and replace a dog due to incompatibility, which is always sad :(
In the school i work for, that is really small, the instructors get to know all the aplicants ( do the interview, evaluate O&M, etc) So when we have a dog ready to be matched, we usually kinda know where it probably go best. Like, "this dog is so John, probably they will be a good match" . And most of the time it works nice! When it doesn't work then we would cancel the match, and try to find another.
I applied to get a guide dog a couple months ago. And I haven’t been approved yet, but they did ask me to come in just to do a week of refresh for my ONM skills, and then they’ll review my app again. Anyway, I leave on Sunday night, so this video could not have come out at a more perfect time for me. ❤️
I just lost my dog Bane last month. He was 17 years old and I miss him so much. I can't imagine how hard it would be to have to move my dog out of my house, especially being as close as you and gallop have been. I'm really glad that you are living close to your parents, so you can see him as often as possible because when you first mentioned getting a new guide dog and gallop living with your parents, you were in California and I felt so sad for you and for gallop, having to be so far from each other. I feel like this is going to be such a hard adjustment for Gallop because he is so used to helping you all the time and focusing on your needs. I hope that staying busy training the new dog, will make it a less painful transition for you💜 because you will be so busy focusing on training the new guide dog. In the end, it'll be great, gallop will adjust to being with your mom and dad and get to enjoy a nice retirement and you will have a new dog while still being nearby to Gallop, it's just going to take time to adjust to the new😊

I love that she can be truthful and tell us that she won’t wash her jeans after one use. I know I’ve seen videos where some talk about the fact they can not wear something more than once because it’s already been seen. It is also eco-friendly to me. Except as you say, if you are sweating or food or something gets all over it. And hi hi!!!! I hope you are doing well!
Yes I also wear things more than once. The only exception is if I’m sweating a lot or if I’ve accidentally spilt something on them. I totally do the same thing. I always switch into comfy clothes or PJ's when I get home, so the clothes I go out in stay pretty clean. I just do the smell test. That's when it goes in the laundry. Also; with jeans.. I admit to using purfume or the bath & body works room spray to get another wear out of them. Slightly off topic.. but I also use tide pens and, now, shout wipes. Mostly just to use at the time & then wash the clothes.. but I also eat in bed. Comforters are a pain to wash.. and even though I use a food tray, inevitably, I drop ketchup, soy sauce, etc. on my bedding. Those things plus a paper towel works wonders. Plus a tide pen *is* detergent.. so it's like washing it without water.
Hey Molly, thank you for the video and for taking us along on the journey! Just felt like noting that a 40$ fanny pack isnt actually too affordable for lots of people, would be a biiig decision for me to make, bc there are way cheaper options aswell. Of course one has to look for ethical resourcing (which would be more expensive of course) if possible but it could make lots of people unfomfortable thinking that they would have to think of a 40$ fanny pack as "inexpensive" (which of course you're not saying they have to, but it's just portraying an Image - obviosly spend your Money on whatever u feel like!). Just wanted to be sure that you're "not loosing touch" with a lot of your "young" audience. Hope you understand how i meant it 😘 lots of love
I love my Canada Pooch fanny pack just an fyi it has a specific spot for poop bags and for treats and a spot for like ID’s in it which is what I use with my guide dog Maui. I love Canada pooch because like you said with your fanny pack its wipeable. Good luck with getting your new dog :)
Sending you all the good vibes and goodluck on this whole journey 💞 It’s going to be a hard one no doubt, but you can do it. You’ve proven many times that you’re a strong woman 💪🏼
Molly I wish you all the best with your new guild dog training program, I enjoy watching your channel I find your content very informative and helpful for the disabled community. It's hard to pack for a trip this time of year I think that you had the right mix of lighter weight and heavier weight clothes for the trip. I look forward to the upcoming vlogs. We will miss Gallop.
you're apparently aren't supposed to wash jeans that frequently if at all. I try make my jeans last a week unless I've spilled something on them. Same goes for bras. Knickers (underwear) and socks I change everyday, and it depends on tops, if I haven't worn them all day and don't smell I'll re wear them, if they're stained and/or sweaty I put them in the washing basket at night
I mean that does depend on if they're real jeans, or stretchy skinny jeans. Real jeans don't need much of a wash, just hang them outside if you can to air them out after a few wears and wash them sometimes
@@animatedaboutlife Supposed to as in for the quality of the item, but ofcourse you can do whatever. You don't have to be offended by washing your jeans when someone said it's better not to 😅
@@animatedaboutlife you can do whatever you but for the sake of the longevity of the denim its recommended you wash them as little as possible, its to preserve the dye and the integrity of yhe fibres. The suggestion has always been only wash them if they're visibly dirty or they stink.
Molly, you're so adorable! I'm so sorry that your journey has come to an end with gallop, but i admire you so much with how you are handling it, i know it must be very emotional....but you're lucky to have so much footage of all your adventures with gallop, to look back on and enjoy. I'm wishing you the best in your new ventures and looking forward to hearing the updates. You're such a sweet, awesome person, and as I'm a fellow Irish girl (from Co. Clare) i am sending you an extra special Irish blessing 🍀from the emerald Isle 💚🤍🧡
Thanks for taking us on this journey with you. I’m crying every video that gallop is retired and excited for your new guide dog. Bittersweet is such an appropriate word for this time. Ship your gift to the campus and address it to yourself. So you don’t have to worry about packing it.
So looking forward to seeing you working with your new guide dog! Question: When you’re on the go, Do you prefer the refillable water bottle for your guide dogs? Or the collapsible bowls you clip to their working harness or your bag? When me and my service dog are working, I prefer the collapsible bowls that clip to her working harness. Second question: Will your new guide dog have play dates with Mr Gallop? They probably would be best friends!
Good luck Molly! I hope you have a lovely time and meet a fantastic dog! I hope Gallop settles well into his retirement with your family and you both have all the happiness life can give.

I highly recommend Briggs and Riley luggage. It’s stood up to more than a decade of abuse, and they have a great warranty. For sleeping, I buy a “sleeping bag liner” from the camping section and am always in charge of the washing schedule for that. My final step is to look at my outfits, and to make sure that each piece could work for 2+ outfit options. Neutral bottoms, fun tops, and small splashes of color with accessories.
It's so nice to hear that a 27-year-old sleeps with stuffed animals because I am almost 17 and I still do, so you saying that makes me feel like I'm not the only big kid who sleeps with blushies.
Don't worry, i'm in boarding school with my 25 classmates (including only 2 girls) and I assure you that at lest 4 people sleep with a plush. We are 19/21yo . Imagine the percentage around the world 😂
Good luck with everything Molly! I know it must be hard retiring Gallop, but I'm exited for you to get your new guide dog! Just wanna let you know how much you mean to me and everyone who wathces your videos! Best of luck with everything!

This is so exciting, and also sad. I hope we'll still get Gallop content, he's such a good boy. I really look forward to seeing the new dog meet miss Lavender though, I wonder what she'll think about the new dog. Also, I am super stoked for all the condo content.
I don’t usually comment on things. I felt that I had to say on the rare case that Molly might see this, her content is something special. She’s the only person that I can watch a video and feel like I came back to an old friend. Even though it’s a one way relationship I always feel so welcome.
Molly you are going to do amazing!!! I can't wait to see you on this next journey. Have a fun time and remember that in a few weeks you and your new guide dog will be so comfortable with each other. Sending big hugs and blessings your way.
Packing cubes are a new product to me, but I've used a similar approach for years with oversized zip locks & zipped plastic sweater & blanket bags. I like the doggie first aid kit. Great recommendation from Mira.
When I went travelling I bought a whole bunch of inexpensive "delicates" bags. Best decision I ever made, super useful on the trip and still super useful now.
@@neophytical Do you mean the little mesh ones you put in the washing machine with your bras? I use a lot of those too. They are super useful in many circumstances, including travel.
Same here in Florida at Southeastern guide dogs. They feed us three big meals a day. And if we go to a downtown training Center in Brandon they will pack a lunch for us. But if we come all the way to Tampa or downtown Saint Pete then we have to have money to buy our own lunch. But I totally agree with you that they walk us a lot. I think here in Florida we get walked nine hours a day or sometimes 10 hours a day. And they put out healthy snacks for us. Like bananas, apples, just in case if you want a healthy snack in the evening. And they say we can bring our own snacks that is easy to carry with us. And how I pack for my guide dog school is. I put my outfits together and then I put underwear and socks which outfit and a sports bra with each outfit. And I’m also like you if I am not out walking and getting sweaty. I just ride in a car from one sister to another sister I can wear my outfit for another day. In the same way with jeans if I’m not sweaty I can wear my jeans for maybe 23 days depends on how bad I sweat pier because here in Tampa the temperature can get up to 100°. In the field like temperature can be 120° here in Tampa Florida
It’s strange I’m nervous for you and excited as well, and can’t wait to see you training with your new puppy. Hope all goes well and will be watching everything from your training videos and vlogs, thank you so much for sharing this great video. Excited to see more of your videos
Our service dog training was in Ohio during winter so we had to pack heavy jackets and boots that we normally rarely need to wear lol. Definitely bring comfort snacks, we even packed sheets and blankets from home and that made a huge difference in making things easier for my sister. This probably doesn’t work for guide dogs, but if the dog’s for a kid then I recommend bringing a minimum of three adults along. On days when my sister couldn’t handle being in the facility all day, I’d hang out in the hotel with her while mom and stepdad got used to handling the dog, so we had at least two people at the site even on bad days who were engaged and learning the ropes.
Molly you are the most quick long-term packer in preparing I have ever seen I am impressed I can never do that good I’m a last-minute packer that’s why stress makes it worse when you have autism especially on top of all the mess of other things that I have in my life so I’m always double guessing myself second-guessing myself and double checking everything and usually I still feel like I’m not getting everything I need back I meant to say packed
I can't wait for the renovation journey of your new home. Yes it's hard to see Gallop move out, but he will also be in a good environment enjoying his golden years. I can't wait to see the new series of how the guide 🦮 dog training goes along. And I wonder if 2 weeks is long enough to interact with your new guide dog. Hope everything goes smoothly and you get the dog you desire. Bernese Mountain dog I think that's the tricolor dog I don't know if I'm wrong about that.
It’s weird for me, who’s lived Alabama for as long as I can remember, to see how a Canadian woman packs for an event in that takes place in September. Most of the things Molly packed looked like things I wouldn’t consider wearing until the dead of winter, like I said it’s just funny for me to see how different the weather is for her.
I'm really excited for this new journey you're about to take! I'm also sad that you'll be adopting out Gallop to your parents, but at least he's staying in the family💞. My life is chaos right now as well. I'm packing to move, packing to have the realtor take pictures of the house to sell it, dealing with my mom who has Alzheimers..and I'm also still dealing with my own chronic illnesses, which makes everything extremely painful to do.
I sounds like you are going through a chaotic time, just know that some of us have been through similar situations and as difficult as it was we have gotten through it.I speak from experience with regard to dealing with health issues and and family members having them as well, three of us in the hospital at the same time in different hospitals yet and one person my dad was terminally ill and my mom was trying to sell the house all at the same time chaotic time to say the least.I 🙏 for you to get through this difficult time.
I can't wait! Do you get to have your dog in your room from the beginning of training? Eah dog brings something new into my life. My service dog literally saved my life 3x. He wasn't trained as a guide dog; but, when I lost my vision he stepped right up. Wehn he died, I had a bad episode and asked him to help me. The next morning, a friend called insisting I take her 8 week old puppy. It was a sign. She is now my service dog. Not at all the same kind of dog; but, she does her job very well.
Hello Molly, thanks to you I've been inspired to write a blind character into my books. Thanks to you I believe I can write one without make false facts. Your very helpful seeing into the life of the blind and understanding more about being blind. So I believe I can write a character thanks you. One that will hopefully not be a character that's full of stereotypes.
I’m writing one on one too from the guide dog’s perspective. Molly’s channel is one of the things I found when searching on guide dogs on RUclips. That’s how I found it and got started her vids last year. I’ve seen her before on another channel with Gallop.
I think it’s definitely good to not wash clothes after single use unless they’re smelly/dirty: you don’t wear out the fabric which means longer life for the clothing and you don’t waste as much water. All and all more sustainable! Also especially with some really delicate fabrics that require special care, it makes sense to maybe wear an undershirt or something which will catch the sweat, so you can wash the undershirt and use the fancier toplayer again without going through all the effort of washing/cleaning it after one use.
We’ve had a crazy hot summer but you can definitely feel the fall air coming in now so you should be good with what you pack! 😊😊 good luck! Can’t wait to see the videos!
Best of luck, Molly. I know it's super emotional to move onto the next chapter with a new dog, and I hope that this transition will go smoothly for everyone. I can tell you're excited by the stuff that you're doing to get ready. This video was weirdly comforting, because I pack like you, and it's nice to watch another person go through the process of setting up for such a huge event.
I don't wish to mislead you. I've never packed for guide dog training, but I just moved into a new home, and packing and unpacking have been a constant companion for a few months now.
Gallop's eyes look so sad, like he knows his time as a guide dog is over. Sending you lots of love and luck on your journey! I hope you find a guide dog who works out well for you. Fragrance hand sanitizers are so great! I've only seen a berry scented sanitizer at London Drugs. The emoji brand. It smells so nice! No judgment on the stuffed animals part. I'm 36 and still have stuffed animals that I've had since I was a child. They sit on a shelf and give me comfort.
I was scheduled for a beach trip at the beginning of September and couldn’t go. Watching you pack somehow fulfilled my need to pack for my trip. Thanks. 💜
Looking forward to seeing your new guide dog and getting to see him/her. I know it will be the perfect dog for you at this time in your life! Congrats!
Ok, you saying you still sleep with stuffed animals is making me feel soooo much better haha cause same I still love them and I'm almost 30. And the thing about not washing everything after one wear, ah, so relatable!!! Thanks for saying it. And good luck with everything.
I’m so excited for you Molly! Thank you for sharing this experience with us. Gallop will always be a part of your family. It must be such a hard transition. I can’t wait to meet your new pup!
Super ethical to re-wear your clothes! You’re not supposed to wash them after one wear unless of course it’s underwear or socks! More sustainable for sure!

Yeah. I wear shirts, socks, and underwear for a day before wash. Bras, jeans, shorts, sweater, etc get 3-6 days depending
Agreed! Nothing wrong with buying a $40 fanny pack, but definitely not something I would consider affordable with my budget!
I thought the same thing.
fr. a $10 nylon treat bag can serve the exact same purpose
Omg 🙄🙄🙄🙄 wow people are so damn sensitive.
the fact that there are so many Americans who find $40 unaffordable is shocking…
What do you mean supposed to? Who made up the rules? Why can't we all just do what we want?
@@animatedaboutlife Supposed to as in for the quality of the item, but ofcourse you can do whatever. You don't have to be offended by washing your jeans when someone said it's better not to 😅
@@ST-vt4nu right, I'm offended. Lol
Second question:
Will your new guide dog have play dates with Mr Gallop?
They probably would be best friends!
I hope this guide dog is just as good as Gallop.
Ahh, me too!! Fingers crossed!!
Having heard about the Mira foundation from Molly so far, I know it will be ❤️
I’m sure he/she will be; although, gallop left some pretty big shoes to fill. Luckily Mira is amazing.
Instead of folding and stacking outfits, I roll my outfits together! It makes them more compact and even easier to grab
doggie first aid kits. Love that Molly shared. They are good to have with guides and family pups both!!! Thank you Molly.
Good luck on your training. I know that this isnt easy but you are amazing and you will get through it. Love you girl
Good luck Molly! I hope you have a lovely time and meet a fantastic dog! I hope Gallop settles well into his retirement with your family and you both have all the happiness life can give.
Hi Molly! Sending love! You don’t even know how much you have helped me! You’re such an amazing person! I wish everything best for you!

Good luck Molly!!! Hope everything goes well!🥰
Love the green couch, you have the best style 😭😭 wish you the best of luck with the new guide dog!! ❤️❤️
Thank you for bringing us on the journey with you, I'm looking forward to seeing the Guide Dog videos, I'm 42 and still sleep with stuffed animals.
Sending you good vibes for the guide dog training 🙂🦮
Not me cackling at $40 being an “affordable” fanny pack
right!?! I can grab one at the dollar store lmao
It is a lot. However, if the zipper actually lasts.. it could be worth it. (I hate malfunctioning zippers with a passion)
Mine was $3 at value village 😌
Ahaha right. Especially for such a purpose. Boh
Girl’s got money, but she had her viewers pay for her new dog?
It's so nice to hear that a 27-year-old sleeps with stuffed animals because I am almost 17 and I still do, so you saying that makes me feel like I'm not the only big kid who sleeps with blushies.
I'm 43 and still sleep with my stuffed owl.
@@GiraffeLoverJen awwww so cute I love owls:)
im 27 and still sleep with my old stuffed animal. with my fiance lol

Saved this video to watch while packing for veterinary school! Feels like packing with a friend for a trip❤
You're so pretty Molly - I love how you take yourself and care about your style. Alot of people dont.😭 Your aesthetic is so satisfying.
I don’t usually comment on things. I felt that I had to say on the rare case that Molly might see this, her content is something special. She’s the only person that I can watch a video and feel like I came back to an old friend. Even though it’s a one way relationship I always feel so welcome.
Lavender is such an interactive cat she’s everything
I wish the best of luck to u at guide dog training! I deserve the best dog ever! We will miss gallop sm!
Molly you are going to do amazing!!! I can't wait to see you on this next journey. Have a fun time and remember that in a few weeks you and your new guide dog will be so comfortable with each other. Sending big hugs and blessings your way.
This whole process will be so interesting to watch
Oh my goooood ! Look at Lavender 😍😍😍 she’s so fluffy!
OMG Molly! We have the same suitcase! Hah, glad I can match your sense of style a little bit 💕
I'm so excited for your training series!
Bernese Mountain dog
I think that's the tricolor dog I don't know if I'm wrong about that.
I am sooo happy for you, I hope all goes well with the training!! I’m gonna manifest that lil boy for you💜🤙🏼
i love your vids! so exciting to get a new guide dog!
That's actually a good idea to pack your outfits together!
I can't wait to see this process and meet your new guide doggo! I really hope you get the coloring you want because that would be adorable.
I can’t wait for your training and guide dog videos, and of course the newest four legged member of the fam!
🥺🤍looking forward to reading it
I’m writing one on one too from the guide dog’s perspective.
Yay I am excited to see the training ❤️ crossing my fingers for you and the new 🐶
These packing tips were helpful for me as someone who is on the waiting list for my first guide dog.
We’ve had a crazy hot summer but you can definitely feel the fall air coming in now so you should be good with what you pack! 😊😊 good luck! Can’t wait to see the videos!
Great to see you beautiful molly your awesome we will miss the beautiful gallop love you molly always excited to watch your new videos
So excited for you!! Best of luck and all the good vibes!!!
Yes the perfect video for me to pack to for my work trip to Austin! ♡
Hi Molly, I can’t wait to come with you on your journey to guide dog school and I’m so excited to get a guide dog of my own I love you so much
It's officially happening guide dog #3 is coming soon 💜🐕
I have several of those dog beds my oldest one is 22 years old still good wash all the time. Great videos
25:02 omg lavender is killing me😂😂😂💜 she's the cutest!!!
All I keep on thinking is Lavender going to like the new dog she and Gallop got along so well. 😭
I love seeing you so excited Molly! I can't wait for the guide dog training content!
I hope you find what you need in a guide dog!!! ❤️
I was scheduled for a beach trip at the beginning of September and couldn’t go. Watching you pack somehow fulfilled my need to pack for my trip. Thanks. 💜
My parents have a big dog statue too! He’s solid though, and is very lithe and graceful looking, like an Italian greyhound!
Looking forward to seeing your new guide dog and getting to see him/her. I know it will be the perfect dog for you at this time in your life! Congrats!
Hello molley I am very excited for you and I’m excited to see your next chapter with your new puppy. :)
I’ll be in training with my second grade next spring or summer, and this got me so excited to be in training again!
I'm going on holiday tomorrow so I am actually STRESSED I forgot something.. this video is so perfect to check if I have everything !
I have an LL bean shower kit I bought years ago. I’m a pet sitter and I just keep it packed. It makes packing so much easier.
Super ethical to re-wear your clothes! You’re not supposed to wash them after one wear unless of course it’s underwear or socks! More sustainable for sure!
Watching this now that she has Bennix makes me so excited for her now.
Ohhh, I work in vet medicine and now I want to work for the Mira foundation vet clinic!!
Hope training with your 3rd guide dog goes well!

I am also excited to see all the condo renovation content! 🏠 🚜 👷🏻♀️✨
I’m excited for you. I’m sure you will do great. It will be hard but I you can do it
That Lab statue is fantastic!!!!! They will love it!
Hi Molly! I love you videos and can't wait for all the new guide dog and new condo content! I am so sad that your chapter with gallop is over but a new guide dog is coming!!!
Since I’m blind as well, I like to roll my outfits up into the shape of a barito so I can just grab one and go.
"You know my my whole life surrounded by fur." I felt that to my core. Lol. Its my life too
