I've had one of these for 2 years now. It is fantastic. Works on deck like a charm and is great for stairs and sidewalks. No lifting of heavy snow and sends it out a long distance
I also live in Northern Illinois. I'm a 56 y/o happily divorced woman, and I don't want to have to rely on or pay others to do things I can do myself. Snow blowers are fairly expensive. An electric snow shovel is perfect for me. I purchased a different brand prior to watching your video (it has yet to arrive), but it's a good brand as well. Also appreciate your positivity. Thank you! 🙂
Well it is now Nov 2023 and watching this video. This gives me a good idea how these snow shovels work. Not sure if I would get one of these, and whether corded or cordless. I live in the Chicago area myself, and have not bought any snow plows for the home. Thanks and take care.
Great video! You showed us exactly what this thing can do without the dramatics. I watched the first video and glad you showed all the viewers that you had dumb comments to say about you needing a snow blower. Great video, link this in the other video.
Good video. Thanks for sharing. 100% agree that power shovel isn’t ideal for deep snow or heavy snow. It is good for a few inches of snow when you don’t want to use heavy duty snow blower (overkill) or a regular shovel due to back issues. I ordered a corded instead or cordless one for longer run time. Those cordless batteries are expensive and drain before I finish and have a long recharge time.
Been using the original from Toro for over seven years, still doing great. I grab this first to clear away from the house. I had 14" last week and this took care of the first three feet from the house. I then get out the three stage and clear everything else. Wave it over the top for six inches then set it down and do the rest. If you set the handles up right it goes fast. For reference I live at 7200' in Colorado.
Great reviews on this! I'm in Chicago and have been looking for a snow blower, but don't have a driveway, only sidewalk and stairs. This seems like it'd be perfect for my uses.
This will work perfectly for you. As stated in the video intro I am in northern IL, about 45 mins from Chicago, So I definitely understand the weather where you live! Thanks for watching my video.
For $40 you can't go wrong. Clears my back deck and front porch out to the mailbox just fine. I kinda have fun doing it and I don't get snow often enough to get a gas powered one. Thanks for the video.
@@bigshow65 Downtown at the lumber store there's a couple brands that are from 129 and 149. both have some metal on the blades so if we do get more snow this year I might get one to try. They're just not needed on this side of the mountains as it was when I got mine in Spokane Wa. But hey, I see you're a Harley Man. I just scored a mint 20 year old riding jacket that might fit you.
you have a typo in the description - you have 10 amp 12 FOOT snow shovel. haha. not 12 inch. Thanks for the demo vid - I'm getting a Greenworks 12 inch battery snow shovel. thanks
Miss your vids man! Also, you totally made me get up and look out my window to see if we got more snow and I missed it! Oh, and one more thing....you can bring that electric shovel over here and test it out on my walk just to prove it works on all sidewalks 😉
Ryobi makes another electric shovel similar to the earthwise one - i believe the ryobi one has wheels on the back, larger width/intake/amp, and i think it can direct the snow too. I don’t think it’s as good spec’d as the earthwise one, but they do make another one. It’s like whisper series or something. Works better then the one you have in this vid
I live in the city and we have to clear our sidewalks and there is a liability for not doing so. I have a neighbor who is being sued. We also have a steep drive going to our underground garage. I do okay clearing it with shovels/broom but we are getting more snow than 10 years back. We only have a small place to store it and being in the south we do not get the snow I grew up with in MI. We can't even hire people to do it so this looks like a good option. Edit that video and put that you cleared up the road snow.
Thanks for checking out my video, yes I actually made a follow up video and in that video I explained that I did clean up the snow in the road. It amazes me that out of all the information I gave in that video that that was the one thing was what people pick up on the most lol.
I have a detached garage which means I have to clear a path to my garage buy shoveling out my back deck and clearing a good 6by 10 foot section with a shovel just to get to the blower…. This is something small and light enough I can store in my basement just of the floor by the cistern for my sump pump and bring it up to clear the deck and the front walk way…. It’s really a very light weight sing stage snow thrower and as you said…. It’s something you can have your kids help you with clearing…. Not a bad bargain for 40 bucks …. Maybe I would put a little extra cash into one with a light gas engine and metal instead of plastic blades
It will clear the snow at the end of the driveway but as stated in the video, but this is not something I would recommend doing for a prolonged period of time if you want the unit to last. As stated in all the other snow shovel videos that I have made, this is not a replacement for a snowblower. This is for decks, sidewalks, and porches.
Good job brother! Hell have you seen the cost of some shovels these days!? $40 isn't bad to spend on an extra gadget even if just to clear a path to the hot tub or grill. Haha. Or just pay that short gal always in the background. Haha. Hi Rachel!
Absolutely nothing! To be completely honest with you it's not hurting it at all, the only marks on the blade is from where my daughter tried to run over a small piece of wood.
Thank you for the replies. I blew out my back and was looking at a alternative to the shovel. I have a small stone driveway and a snowblower becomes a machine gun. I was hoping this might be a better choice. Thanks agin for the responses.
Yeah, it's definitely not intended to replace a snow blower. I have a buddy who lost his leg, and this item works perfectly for him. it's geared more towards porch's, deck, sidewalks, and for people who can use a little help.
I’ve had this thing for several winters now and it’s my go to. I absolutely love using this again as stated in all three of the videos on this snow shovel it’s not for driveway use just sidewalks deck stuff like that.
I have received tons of messages of people saying "it would be easier to just shovel it" and they're right if you're a 20yr old and built like a greek god !! I'm almost 47 my Greek God days are long past. Thanks for checking out my video.
Your last comment about people saying you just blow it into the road and left it there…….. That’s comes from a common tendency to assume the negative just because you didn’t see the neutralizing (or positive) actions The correct way would be from them to ASK you if left it in the street or cleaned it up …
Here in the Pocono mountains of eastern PA you would have to do it while it is snowing a couple of times. Nothing like a snow thrower. The deck in the first video could have been cleaned much faster and more efficiently than the machine. As a 73 year old I can't be that patient with the cord or even the smallness of your toy, lol.
Yes it is, in the first video that was all the snow I had to work with. I had a ton of comments asking how it was in deep snow, that's part of the reason I made the follow up video. Thanks for watching!!
@@bigshow65Thanks for reply and not getting upset. I understood / agree but just saying if it were I it would be on the way to the transfer station the next trip.
I just don’t get this tool at all. A shovel is better: faster, don’t need to use a cord. This is a solution looking for a problem. It may have value to somebody with a handicap who cannot shovel, but for anybody else it seems a complete waste of time.
Well I do agree that a shovel will work just fine but for 40 dollars this is a reasonable option for the elderly and a good way to the kids involved. My kids always want to use the things I use, lawn mower (rider) weed trimmer and so on so this gets them out to help without me forcing them to. Thanks for watching my video, have a great day!!
My mother is 75 years old and weighs about 55 kg. For her that kind of an electric snow showel or perhaps even a smaller snow blower would just slow things down. We do get a decent amount of snow in eastern Finland though, so I guess we have enough time to figure out how it's done fast 😁
I disagree. I just bought a different brand and it's cordless, but I haven't had snow yet to use it. I think it will come in handy and be less of a hassle for me than regular shoveling. I cannot constantly lift a shovel with snow and using this eliminates the need to do that. You just push it for the most part. I'm glad I bought mine. 😊

You should be using a Cold Weather Indoor/Outdoor Extension Cord, which is Blue? Much safer than the Orange cords. You want to safe, not sorry.
Remove the top layer, then go for bottom layer.
