+Romeo Rodriguez yes but blue sea dragon is the common name, stop going on Wikipedia to try and sound smarter by finding something that you never knew in the first place.
I was thinking the same thing... not that it made them seem weirder just because the scientific name was used instead, just that it was weird not to use the common name and/or the scientific name for all of them just to be consistent.
Most people have never seen 3/4 of these animals before. I've NEVER seen a sea dragon photo that have it ANY kind of scale until this vid. I knew it was little but damn!!! That's teeny! !
I don't want to sound rude but you have a bunch of these animals misnamed. For example the star nosed mole has a totally different face. That was a regular mole. We catch star nosed moles here in Illinois so I know what they look like. And at least 5 others were misnamed. Peace.
+P.Gallo AllAmericanAngel Misinformation seems to be a triend on RUclips videos. At least he did not have any PhotoShop "giant skeletons". Those drive me crazy.
Your right I should count my blessings. And I hate the badly photo shopped skeletons too. Ugh! And I'm sure you know there used to be some very large people in our past but I think 12 ft was about the top height. Have a good one!
Yep...I agree. But were are the skeletons?? There seems to be a three way war going on when it comes to the mystery concerning giants and each side have their own agenda. There are those who want to create hoaxes, the scientific communities and the religious people, and I do not only mean Christian. The religious want to embrace ANY evidence that promotes their belief, even if that "evidence" is loaded with half truths speculations and hearsay. Then there are the mainstream scientiis that don't regard ANYTHING that up sets their "applecart" of theories. Each side spins the truth to fit their own needs. That is my opinion anyway, for I been researching this subject for awhile.
+William Benner There are quite a few large skeletons in a museum in Patagonia the Smithsonian has a few but refuses them to the public. And there are about 7 owned by some of the Native American tribes, mostly tribes along the northern most border reservations (those had red hair which I find particularly odd.) And I said before in all of those I don't think any is above 12 ft tall or if they are not much. But those annoying photoshopped skeletons look 40 feet tall! lmao! Whoever is trying to pass those off as real has little understanding of gravity on living creatures. To be honest I'm can't say why they annoy me so much except that maybe even as a joke they aren't any good. And I'm just not an annoyed person, it's not in my nature. Maybe you have a better idea why.... if you do feel free to share.
In the water they have a severely deadly toxic effect, out of the water they are ok. They eat portugese man o war jellyfish stinging cells and concentrate the venom to use in defence. They look great but can be pretty nasty.
This video's a fucking train wreck. You've written the common names for some animals and the scientific names for others. And then for some you've got neither for others (2:50 Isopoda is an order, not a specie name). You also have some species listed twice (glass frogs at 1:34 and 2:15). Also, holy shit--typos everywhere. You need to edit your videos better.
+Cuke Jr. The use of common then Latin names got to me too, Cuke, but isn't there a nicer way to tell the video maker? You wouldn't talk to him/her to their face that way, would you? There's enough incivility on the www and the rest of the world, so let's make it a friendly place. Thank you, Obvious, for taking the hours to create this video. It was really interesting.
+Kevin Webster Yep, I know. Isopod, not IsopodA. Like I said, Isopoda is the name of the order. Calling an isopod an "isopoda" is like me showing you a picture of a cat and telling you it's called a "carnivora".
The Goblin Shark looks like it's just getting dressed and you opened the door. *"GUYS! THIS ISN'T FUNNY!"* *"I'M TRYING TO GET MY CLOTHES ON!"* *"DON'T TAKE THOSE PHOTOS!"*
Awesome video, I'm definitely going to look into finding more detailed information on many of the animals shown. I love how you included the video's thumbnail image and explained it. Which has made me want to learn more about the artist, his story, his methodology, and his influences. Many years ago I had a book by a artist depicting exobiological life that is three leg based for the most part. The artwork was arranged as part of a story about the stranded(maybe though it could have been otherwise, the book was lost in a fire long ago) exobiologist. Though some people hate videos like this, for some reason, they allow people to see the vast and strange diversity of life on this planet and it helps to spark a desire for further self directed education.
+Louise Hampton nope, their in the same class (mammal) but it branches out from there. cuban solenodon (solenodon cubanus) which has a longer snout, and then you have Opossum (Didelphimorphia).
how great is our creator, never for get him in whatever you do, he is the beginning and the end, his son Jesus Christ, is the saviour of the world, trust him with your life, you will never lose it
The "Ancient Shark" is called a Frilled Shark. This particular shark was caught off the coast of Japan, taken to an aquarium and died in 3 days. This breed of fish cannot survive above crush depth. It's like a Coelacanth. Both species of fish are up to very recently thought to have been extinct.
A nitpick. Solenodon cubanus is a real animal, but the animal shown in the video is an opossum, not a solenodon. That being said, it's nice to see a "weird critters" video with no fakes, no Photoshop and no bullshit.
Not only origins, but maybe a few facts, like the Naked Mole Rat (listed by its scientific name, but it was the one after the hairless mouse) is blind and lives in colonies like ants, complete with a queen.
When I was a kid, another kid in our neighborhood showed us a picture of an aye-aye, and it freaked us out. From then on, we developed a "legend" that there was a child-eating aye-aye loose in our neighborhood, and we used that "story" to scare the hell out of ourselves. We even created a hide-and-seek sort of game based on it. Many years later, when I had moved to another city, I discovered that kids in that neighborhood were still playing that game. Never underestimate the power of the aye-aye.
I love that axolotls are on this list. I have two of them and have raised them since they were very young. I love people's reactions when they see them :)
It's not a Kommondor, it's a Puli ! Puli is little and black, Kommondor is very big and white. We had one of both breed a few years ago. ☺ excuse my english i am German😌
What a beautiful diverse collection of creatures we are privileged to live with. I love this planet, I just hope that we can change our ways and rescue it.
Perhaps because the regular names may not be universal but the scientific names are assigned to only one species (barring mistakes). This helps to avoid confusion. The birds described as robins are different in the USA and the UK. For qnother example, I know what a 'Granfer Gravy' is but I'd hazard a guess that that name is not widely known outside a particular locale. In the USA they might call it a pill-bug - in the UK, it's a woodlouse - which actually covers many species in the Armadillidiidae family.
humans find things "weird" and "scary" only because they do not understand something......l find anything new to be interesting...everything looks the way it does for a reason, and l hate how judgmental humans are..
Omg.. those little tiny frogs are adorable. I hope they live in areas where theres not a lot of people. I cant imagine them surviving long being that they are smaller than a fingernail. That one on the quarter was like the size of a ant. This is an interesting video...Thank u...
i neeeeeeeeeeed the super-floofed bunny and the puffy kitty, ,,, and the tiny little monkey... and.... the red panda, and the deer with fangs, and the super-cute yet super-tiny possom thingy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think i will die of over-exposer to cuteness!!!!!!!!!!
they keep red pandas in the zoo a lot, before people get mad: They do that because they'll extinct in the wild, when they're in the zoo they'll survive a little longer. they tried to let them survive in the wild but it didn't work out...
I even have a pet baby bat I saw it on the road sad and lonely so I picked it up and said "your going to be fine with me ok?"so he was lucky to have a rich family😌😉😊☺️💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕😇😘🐀🐁🐭🐹🐂🐃🐄🐮🐅🐆🐯🐇🐰🐈🐱🐎🐴🐏🐑🐐🐓🐔🐤🐣🐥🐦🐧🐘🐪🐫🐗🐖🐷🐽🐕🐩🐶🐺🐻🐨🐼🐵🙈🙉🙊🐒🐉🐲🐊🐍🐢🐸🐋🐳🐬🐙🐟🐠🐡🐚🐌🐛🐜🐝🐞🌌I hope the bright sun shines on u guys🙋🏻
The alpacas are "trimmed" in a strange way! The rest are mostly undersea creatures that exist way at the bottom of the sea. The mammals are just huge or different.
I like this video cuz theres names to the creatures and animals. Not some video saying oh mysterious things no ones know what it is... Theres names for them. I like that..
great video really loved it i liked the Hagfish and the tapir but the cutest one was the Solenodon cubanus. make mooore like 9999999999999999999999999 animals!!! BTW my friend and I are 15
that blue sea dragon is just adorable :3
I like the glass frog.
+Star Pace ikr and the bunny
+Frey Zey Unrelated to your comment, but do you also pronounce your name like "fry"?
that's actually the Glaucus Atlanticus.
+Romeo Rodriguez yes but blue sea dragon is the common name, stop going on Wikipedia to try and sound smarter by finding something that you never knew in the first place.
some of these you just used scientific names to make them seem weird/rare when they aren't.
I was thinking the same thing... not that it made them seem weirder just because the scientific name was used instead, just that it was weird not to use the common name and/or the scientific name for all of them just to be consistent.
Marlissa Cunningham -- like the Horned Toad (which isn't a toad) of Texas & the South.
Most people have never seen 3/4 of these animals before. I've NEVER seen a sea dragon photo that have it ANY kind of scale until this vid. I knew it was little but damn!!! That's teeny! !
Marlissa Cunningham like the horny road (actually a lizard)
Adam Sizemore toad*not road..lol
How did a DUCK get on this list?
I know right!!
+Mike Hawk No stranger than the Australian brush turkey.
+Kerensa Birch
it looks like a goose
Blahblah Bluhbluh
Possibly, but what's so unusual about it?
Kerensa Birch nothing
I'm pretty sure that alpacas aren't weird, scary, or rare.
I don't want to sound rude but you have a bunch of these animals misnamed. For example the star nosed mole has a totally different face. That was a regular mole. We catch star nosed moles here in Illinois so I know what they look like. And at least 5 others were misnamed. Peace.

+William Benner actually there have been a few legit giant skeletons and bones found but people tend to try and blow it out of proportion.
+William Benner There are quite a few large skeletons in a museum in Patagonia the Smithsonian has a few but refuses them to the public. The Blue sea dragom is beautiful, looks like its from another planet like from avatar :v
dragon*
Agreed
In the water they have a severely deadly toxic effect, out of the water they are ok. They eat portugese man o war jellyfish stinging cells and concentrate the venom to use in defence. They look great but can be pretty nasty.
Your "ancient shark" is called a Frilled Shark.
you forgot the human
GPMachado lol Yeah we are the weirdest of the species. 🤣
XD
This video's a fucking train wreck. You've written the common names for some animals and the scientific names for others. And then for some you've got neither for others (2:50 Isopoda is an order, not a specie name). You also have some species listed twice (glass frogs at 1:34 and 2:15).

+Cuke Jr. The one listed is simply known as the giant isopod. Just sayin.
+Cuke Jr. And he uses the Latin names for common animals like an ARMADILLO to make the seem weird
+Kevin Webster Yep, I know. Isopod, not IsopodA. Like I said, Isopoda is the name of the order. Calling an isopod an "isopoda" is like me showing you a picture of a cat and telling you it's called a "carnivora".
+Calbha Vaughn Nope! Only when commenting on sloppy-ass youtube videos.
Most of these were actually adorable!
Axolotls arent rare. I have two of them in an aquarium that I bought at a pet store.
The Goblin Shark looks like it's just getting dressed and you opened the door.
*"GUYS! THIS ISN'T FUNNY!"*
*"I'M TRYING TO GET MY CLOTHES ON!"*

2:41 He had hair! :D :D
haha nice 1
yay

That is NOT a solenodon cubanus. That's normal opossum!
+Louise Hampton yes and it could be highly toxic
+Louise Hampton nope, their in the same class (mammal) but it branches out from there. cuban solenodon (solenodon cubanus) which has a longer snout, and then you have Opossum (Didelphimorphia).
that's what I've been saying
how great is our creator, never for get him in whatever you do, he is the beginning and the end, his son Jesus Christ, is the saviour of the world, trust him with your life, you will never lose it
That "ancient shark", is a frilled shark, Chlamydoselachus anguineus.
Nature is the most beautiful thing ever, I reared up while watching this. Thank you.
the 'crowned' is a Lemur!!
1:04 Cairina moschata
It's called silent duck in our country and it's very common
okay this video was very unique. It makes you aware that there are other species out there. so awesome. I love seeing different kinds of animals.
so I wasted 7 minutes to find out wtf that was in the thumbnail of this video, only for you to say it was only a hyper real sculpture... #fail
Also, the jumbo octopus/squid is ADORABLE!!!
You said that a "hyper real structure" was a rare animal..
Fantasztikus , isten teremtményei voltak ezek a lények, bár néhány nagyon kedves állatkának tűnt.
A nitpick. Solenodon cubanus is a real animal, but the animal shown in the video is an opossum, not a solenodon. That being said, it's nice to see a "weird critters" video with no fakes, no Photoshop and no bullshit.
yep =0)
Yeah, and their origins would have been nice to know too. I did enjoy it though. Thank you.
Not only origins, but maybe a few facts, like the Naked Mole Rat (listed by its scientific name, but it was the one after the hairless mouse) is blind and lives in colonies like ants, complete with a queen.
Elizabeth Bryant
John Baker
some of those are actually quite cute and some are beautiful. I especially like Blue Dragon
Love the video but it would have been nice to see the generic name of the animal and not the scientific philum.
👍 Neat! I didn't know a lot of these existed. Thank you for posting! 😊
They're not WEIRD OR SCARY. ...we just don't get to see them often since alot tgem live in the sea .
When I was a kid, another kid in our neighborhood showed us a picture of an aye-aye, and it freaked us out. From then on, we developed a "legend" that there was a child-eating aye-aye loose in our neighborhood, and we used that "story" to scare the hell out of ourselves. I liked the blob fish and dumb octopuse
"Angora Rabbit" For a split second I thought "That's the biggest puffball that i've ever seen
Why can't you just give the regular name for these animals?

I also like the mouse that has a little fur and it is naked😂😂
3:38 is not rare...that is an elephant seal..and 5:32 is a possum...l take care of 100sds of these animals...
Many of them are not rare...but their WEIRD like the title states.
humans find things "weird" and "scary" only because they do not understand something......l find anything new to be interesting...everything looks the way it does for a reason, and l hate how judgmental humans are..
Not weird. Interesting and awesome.

Man those red pandas sure are terrifying. XD
Frail necked lizard...
One name comes to mind…
Diloposuarus
the axolotl's face makes me happy
Axolotlies, pygmy marmosets and platypusses are so cute 😆
My cousin had an Axoloti as a pet in the 90s, they called it a mud puppy (it was brown).
OMG the Emperor Tamarin is SOOO cute :O it has a moustache!!!!
It ain't called a Ancient Shark its called a Frilled Shark and its common in Japan at depths of 50-200 m (160-660 ft)
some of these r super cute! like the red panda! and sloth.
Omg.. those little tiny frogs are adorable. I hope they live in areas where theres not a lot of people. I cant imagine them surviving long being that they are smaller than a fingernail. That one on the quarter was like the size of a ant. This is an interesting video...Thank u...
That angora rabbit must be worth quite a bit, since angora sweaters cost a small fortune.
this video is awesome
Very beautiful animals! God works in very mysterious ways! Amazing video! Thanks for sharing!
HagFish + Water = next creater to subnautica confirmed
I saw the pic before starting the video and all I could say was "Nuuu" and started to laugh

they keep red pandas in the zoo a lot, before people get mad: They do that because they'll extinct in the wild, when they're in the zoo they'll survive a little longer. they tried to let them survive in the wild but it didn't work out...
fish that live in the deep, deep oceans (wolf fish, gulper eel, angler fish) ARE scarry!

Omg that blue sea dragon is adorable and I need it.
The Sloth was SO CUTE!!!!!!!!

The alpacas are "trimmed" in a strange way! The rest are mostly undersea creatures that exist way at the bottom of the sea. The mammals are just huge or different.
Alpacas look like furry giraffes with a face of a lamb XD
I think I need pokeballs. lol
Love the music. That fish at 3:30 is WEIRD.
this was very cute and cool animals.
just got to love that sloth
I cant understand why alpacas made the list, they're basically just fancy llamas. Geoducks are weird, fun to dig up, and delicious.
Geoduck? It sounds like the name of a Pokémon fusion between Geodude and Psyduck. XD
I want the dreadlocks dog ! He's so cute !
I like this video cuz theres names to the creatures and animals. Not some video saying oh mysterious things no ones know what it is... Theres names for them. I like that..
3:59 whats so weird about that
great video really loved it i liked the Hagfish and the tapir but the cutest one was the Solenodon cubanus. make mooore like 9999999999999999999999999 animals!!! BTW my friend and I are 15
