As a former Dispatcher in the local area, I feel for your department. You all did an amazing job answering the call. I'm glad the news shared your perspective. Dispatchers are key in moments like this and are often forgotten. Thank you for all that you do.
I agree. Yes dispatchers need more recognition. Very stressful job I'm sure. After the call ends they're left sitting there to deal with all they just experienced. I'm sure closure after the call is elusive.
I felt bad when that one guy yelled and cursed at one of the female 9-1-1 dispatchers. I know he just witnessed something horrific, but it can’t be easy for the dispatcher either.
The woman in the closet, I admire how calm she stayed. Not only did she protect herself, but also the others with her. The first call I heard was the crying woman who saw it play out via video conference. My heart broke for her, and I wish the dispatcher would have been nicer in the beginning of the call, but he got better after he heard how upset she was, at least.
😂 Hah, well I'm sorry, but bad guys and criminals will always find a way to get a gun. And if one day that Law should happen to turn on you if given the command or there were to be another Civil War, then I'd rather have the right, to also have a gun to protect myself and family, if I choose. It's what are forefathers and founding fathers of our nation must've thought too, when they drew up our constitution with our bill of rights. So please take your libertarian democratic rhetoric elsewhere, because it's not welcome here! This is America, where we stand for Freedom and our Constitutional Rights as an American. One of them being "Our Right to Bear Arms". So you're wrong, every law abiding citizen of America has the Right to own a gun! 🇺🇸 🇺🇲 🇺🇸 Stop spewing your nonsense!
@@alliccat5482 So if bad people are always gonna do bad things then why do we even have laws? We should just get rid of all the laws and regulations we have since people are always gonna do bad stuff 🤷. Do you know why people don't walk around with bombs and bomb schools up all the time? Because they have sensible laws on them. There have been other countries with this problem and once they made better laws it slowed down and stopped. And no the government isn't gonna take away all guns because for some dumb reason they treat guns like how they should be treating children. But still, there's no reason why we have this many guns and so little regulations. No matter how you look at it gun control WILL help. More guns hurt than help people, there have been 160+ mass shootings this year and it's only April. That sums up to 1/2 per day. The leading cause of child death is FIREARMS. Do you understand that? Children are terrified to go to school, Americans flinch at any noise that sounds like a gun fire. The founding fathers made the 2nd amendment when guns took forever to load and needed multiple people. Now guns are way more advanced we should have laws that mirror that. You still can have freedom without people getting injured from shootings everyday. You can still have freedom without elementary kids dying in schools every couple of months. This is OUR country too. We shouldn't have to leave because people like you refuse to stop having little kids from getting shot up. No, not every law abiding citizen should have guns. Because not every law abiding citizen is sane. You need to realize there should be no reason why someone should be able to get a gun without a permit, training, or basic knowledge on guns. We need sensible gun laws.
You genuinely sound crazy. If the government wanted to take guns away they WOULD. People died, Brenda. This isn't some sort of conspiracy theory of yours
they're the only insight into the situation. they're both helping everyone involved, informing officers/ EMS what's going on so they can save people. I commend the other woman too❤💔
Except she did. They're both helping save lives. If the woman needed to stay silent, the dispatcher could take a hint considering the situation. And asking questions isn't just for intel but also to be a voice and emotional tether to help her stay calm.

This is so commonplace that these accounts appear scripted. Right down to the thanks to the EMTs, etc etc etc. Sigh.
