Ray Allen is the quintisential definition of a TRIPLE THREAT. He can shoot the ball, he can put it down on the floor and slash, and he can pass it off.
Jesus Shuttelsworth has been a problem since before He Got Game. The assist from Bron to take that last shot was an all time moment of his on top of the career and other moments he had.
Ray Allen doesn't get the flowers he deserves. Everyone remembers him for his 3&D roles on the Celtics and Heat but dude was a fucking monster in his prime.
What I'm most impressed by is Ray's facial expression after taking a shot. Even if he airballs horrendously, he still looks like he drained it flawlessly.
People don’t talk about ray enough for changing the game. one of the first elite, high volume and deep shot taking players ever. People forget how great he was off the dribble and driving the to rim
What is also underrated about Ray is his work ethic. He was always the first on the court for shooting practice, and always stayed after practice for more reps.
Ray Allen was very unguardable when he was at his prime. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest three-point shooters of all-time, and he held the record for most three-pointers made in a career until Stephen Curry surpassed him. He won a title with the Celtics and then he came off the bench for the Heat.🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
Payton, Allen and Lewis (and Radmanovic) are the reason that I started supporting Sonics back then. KD then Russ and Harden was a nice transition to OKC era, and now the new guard is awesome. I was happy seeing Ray (so Payton and Lewis) got his chips even tho I never liked heat or celtics (not even with KG in).
Celtics crunch time in those years you knew Ray was taking the last shot. Pierce of course had his share of late game heroics. Usually a one on one iso in the middle. But on a set play with the time winding down the opposing fans and players feared and knew that it would eventually end up with Ray hoisting up that buzzer beater. And it usually almost always went in. Crazy. Dude was just clutch.
Jesus Shuttelsworth has been a problem since before He Got Game. The assist from Bron to take that last shot was an all time moment of his on top of the career and other moments he had.
Not even a minute in, and I'm already giving this channel the side eye. Your definition of "unguardable" is "someone who does things we've never seen before," seriously? Imho, I'd start with the basics before getting into fancier territory- *unguardable* (in basketball terms): descriptive word for "player who cannot be guarded or defended; a player who cannot be prevented from scoring a basket without committing a foul." If we went with your definition, then what do you call Kyrie Irving's game and his ability to almost score points at will, even when going against taller, sizable Centers and Power Forwards? Exciting and awe-inspiring as it is to watch, it's not some never before seen set of skills-Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, John Wall, etc. Hell, you can even watch Pete Maravich at his peak. So there goes your definition of the word "unguardable" imo.
I don't agree with the premise of this video, but if you're gonna make this video then it should have been about Reggie Miller. Reggie was a bonafide superstar who was the first option on a team that made multiple deep playoff runs and he was really the first number one option who's offense was built around the 3.
Ray is the second best shooter of all time and was #1 until Steph Curry came along. As far as most ungaurdable id still have to say Allen Iverson in his prime. He was completely unstoppable and made everyone who tried look terrible lol
"the pioneer of high volume deep range shooting"... you're just blatantly ignoring Reggie Miller. I grew up in Boston in the late 90s/early 2000s, of course I appreciate Ray Allen. Ray Allen was a great 3 point shooter and an all-around beast earlier in his career. But you can give Ray Allen his flowers while still acknowledging that Reggie Miller existed.
unguardable ? before the splash brothers arrived i thaught the same. but for real, allen and pierce were a lovely and honorable backcourt but what golden gate set up kicks both deep into great players but not in any kind of "UN" category. allen was a great downtown player ( i still own his olympic jersey) but there were two probs why i rate steph and klay way higher than him and pierce. allen needed something like clear sight or at least a tiny fraction of preparation to release a 3 while neither paul or later steph and klay needed this time. and he also shot most times from pretty close to the line while the other 3 guys just fired out of nowhere sometimes before they were guarded and made it count. i admire allen since i grew up in a jordan /kemp era and all others tried to be that way. for me a sneaky 3 is way more exciting than a tomahawk or windmill dunk. both are nice to watch but so many ppl can dunk great while so few players are constantly skyhigh from the line. if you had upped this vids a few years before i would have liked it better, but today i think steph and klay have overpowered every record he set (i think i dont like to wiki) in an even harder way than ray did it to reggie. so no hard feelings but i think its like the nfl. as the niners proceeded the running game became a bonus not a major part of american football. and i also think allen / paul started it, but today he would not be unguardable since the splash brother taught many great players ( specially james lol) that the backcourt can create champions .....whatever he would not be unguarable any more. rose, harden, steph, thompson and many more...there are so many strong snipers. check the block rates. today dikembe would be a no go since he woudl be too slow to so many marksmen. no harsh words against allen, i liked him so much. but he was not close to be the "most" unguardable DT player for sure. sometime i thaught with strong guards against em even kobe and iverson were harder to defend, pierce for sure. is he a HOFler ? hell yeah ! did he build a bridge to a new gameplay? check. was he the "most unguardable" ( i dont like thos most, best, impossible, etc descriptions) ? no, for sure not.
btw pls compare him to payton. gary coould have placed bigger numbers but he supported my man shawn kemp like hell and had another deep threat in detlef schrempf with him. if he had been a scoring only guard i think the numbers would be a bit higher.
and whats that crap about kidd ? not all guards are snipers and i think overall kidd was the better player overall. no need for childish antisocial media shit.
okay, gonna stop here. dude its nice you remember ray allen but callin him most unguardable NBA player ever while your stats progfe he isnt or you dont understand the words "most" and "ever", its gettin borin ppl comparin stats of "my" nba time and today. today we guys like luka who are just calibrating their playstyle, and compared to allen he is much harder to guard and a way stronger def. player. i thaught hey nice a vid about ray but i was fuckin wrong, you got no fkn clue about the game. have you ever played urself at least ?not pro but dunno streetball during good weather ? because ehwat you camm most unguardble is brown and smelling pretty bad :D
Stupid take on am under rated player. Abdul Rauf, Glen Rice, Reggie Miller, Larry Bird, and a few other players that I can't remember played his way be4 him. Even Kobe, Tmac, and Pierce played identical. He just had a better 3pt than they did. 🙄
You must do drugs that guy was never like ever top 3 at his position Kobe killed him damn near every time even when he had to share with shaq t Mac killed him always and a.i. killed him everytime unguardable ?? You sir should stop! I speak facts you have opinion smh
Ray Allen is the quintisential definition of a TRIPLE THREAT. He can shoot the ball, he can put it down on the floor and slash, and he can pass it off.
Just like dirk ppl forget those two were some of the best triple threat players
Crazy thing is Rays been retired for a decade and teams today would still pay him for 10 minutes off the bench, on spot up 3's alone
Ray allen and KD is a what if no one talks about
What a duo that would've been
True
yeah, but mostly because Steph is a better Ray Allen and Steph and Kd already happened, so it would be something like their duo in warriors
Jesus Shuttelsworth has been a problem since before He Got Game. The assist from Bron to take that last shot was an all time moment of his on top of the career and other moments he had.
@@IllaMatik222yeah assist from bosh, lebron passed it to the rim

LMAO Ray was never seen as a three & D guy.

Jesus Shuttlesworth? Yo we knew he was going to be in the HOF when he was balling in Coney Island.
What is also underrated about Ray is his work ethic. He was always the first on the court for shooting practice, and always stayed after practice for more reps.
these videos really filling gaps in my free time, carrying my summer basketball viewing with these masterpieces

That shot was just legendary for his age and how he needed to rush it so fast. Its so hard to forget
Underrated HOF

and he stil has more 3pt than Harden that has more attempts than Ray already
He also won title with the heat
Yep
When Ray made that corner 3, i had a meltdown. I couldn't believe it.
Ray Allen's name and game was too great for the time he played, its so easy to lose his name among all the great players we're seeing now after him.

One of my fav player of all time and great video keep it up! 👍
what a loyal man staying on two ass teams for most of his career and still winning 2 chips

Hello mate i really want to edit your videos at high to give you more reach and audience
i remember i scored 306 points with Ray Allen in NBA 2k5 on all threes. i went to tell my dad and he hit me
Him and Dirk were the only two I could get to play that clunky game.
Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett would have been a dynasty the Timberwolves always making dumb decisions, they stay losing
