i think the only real way to solve most of the homeless problem is by shipping them out to different cities, where they can either get treatment, or just start working. It may be cruel, but building more housing for the homeless only raises the taxes and causes more problems.
Agree. Help the ones that are from other states to go home. The ones from CA should be given a choice to get treatment, get into transitional housing or go to jail. Setting up filthy tent cities covered in trash absolutely should not be allowed.
@@kjdinoc There is many homeless coming from other states cause the weather is perfect and they can leave on the streets all year round. Treatment for those who has mental issues, treatment for those who has a drug addiction and the lazy ones, either send them to jail or work on the farm fields. THERE IS PLENTY OF WORK ON THE WHOLE NATION ON THE FARM FIELDS BUT MANY RATHER LIVE ON THE STREETS. And people blame the government.

Homelessness in LA has been around since the 30s or earlier. Waaaaay before Gavin took over. Nice temperature, don't get too hot or too cold. No bugs like you see in Florida. If I was homeless, Cali would be a top destination. Makes sense. Not an easy problem to solve. Instead of hating on local leadership, offer solutions and support. No Gov or Mayor or President will solve this problem. Needs to be done at the community level.
I hope all this mess is a wake up call for all Californians when it comes to electing our next governor.

Unfortunately, this is how it looks in many major cities in our country. In Charlotte, NC, there was a major homelessness problem before the scamdemic, now they have a tent city on the north side/uptown area. This is happening heavily in democratic run cities/states all over.

Define deserve. I volunteered for seven years, man. Well over half the people I dealt with frequently, did not want to work, did not want to stop drinking and drugging themselves into oblivion, were not welcome in their family's houses due to stealing from them, assaulting them, breaking their shit, making them miserable. Many of them were criminal problems, most of it preying upon other homeless.

Same with NYC. To me the whole thing has been looking like a real-estate consolidation scheme since the riots broke out. And now NY & Cali both are trying to pass laws requiring sellers to give the government first refusal on property! They are deliberately driving down values to buy it all up so they can build "smart city" gulags to track & trace each resident's behavior, thinking, etc & control individual access to resources.
@@juraqueen5767 there are many states where it is almost like normal life aside from half the population wearing masks. Nothing is closed, & no one is locked down where I live. No one is trying to stop us from visiting our in-laws in another state. Are folks in the UK no longer being hounded for not wearing masks & for travelling more than 5km from home? It really sounds like hell over there, even compared to my humid home state of Florida!
California's problems are self inflected. Over taxed, over regulated, and they are not enforcing the laws on the books. Every thing works by cause and effect but they just don't seem to think everything all the way thru and it seems to backfire. If you want everything to go back to the way it was, you need to do everything the way you use to do it.

In varying degrees, this has been going on for 40 years! I lived in SF from 1977 to 1989 then I worked for them from 1991 to 2008. I watched the steady decline since 1977. LA is no different than SF with regard to its homeless response. It’s a problem because WE TOLERATE IT. What do I mean: general assistance payments (welfare); getting rid of vagrancy and public intoxication laws; needle programs; allowing “homeless advocates” to set the agenda for solutions...the list goes on. Politicians responses have been to attack property owners for being greedy then passing regulations to “manage” the rental market or to mandate “affordable housing”, all of which have failed miserably over the years. Let me be clear here. Most of you commenting on this thread and or reading my comment voted for these same politicians that put us in this dire situation. Most of you were OK with the rubbish the politicians peddled to “solve” the problem. Sadly, for me, I’m having to live with the consequences of all this foolishness.
We are the solution to homelessness!! Stop waiting for someone else to help out and YOU lend a hand!!👍
DemoKKKRats are importing homeless faster than anyone can help them, because they get votes by virtue signal "we help the poor". This is why homeless problem is the worst in DemoKKKRats cities.
All the time, the cost and effort is too great all the while getting less and less support while society becomes less accepting of your efforts. Too dangerous out there now, just isn’t worth it.

A lot of investors are grabbing up property sight unseen for way over the asking price. This is what causes A lot of problems for locals and younger individuals that need affordable housing. They are banking prices will go up so they can make profits. I also know people that are buying to run Arbnb's for write offs and profits. It really sucks trying just to live a normal life when the odds are stacked against us. Good Luck! I live in Vegas , born and raised . Maybe you should move , you can can a amazing home here, way more bang for your buck and no state taxes.

I agree that is allot of homeless peoples problem but you are very misinformed if you think that is case across the board. The covid shutdowns and the high cost of housing has made allot of people who want to work , homeless in California. The government has successfully destroyed this state. Where is your witress at the diner or your grocery bagger supposed to live when they are barley making enough money to eat and live? Over regulation has made a terrible busisuness environment for small businesses. High properity taxes and usless building codes has made housing unaffordable for many people. Hopeless people turn to drugs and alcohol its nothing new. Its easy to make the right decisions when you have it good. And it's easy to make bad ones too. I'm not trying make excuses for anyone im just aware that allot of people are bing debt a shitty hand in life right now.

I grew up in Los Angeles (San Fernando Valley) and lived there most of my life.
Six years ago my wife and I moved to Westlake Village and after seeing all the RUclips videos on the exploding homeless problems in L.A. I’m glad we did.
Someone has to do something about homelessness or it will just continue to multiply, causing more businesses to close and the unsanitary living conditions in the homeless encampments will cause health problems, even way beyond COVID.
You never see homeless encampments or even any graffiti in Westlake Village/1000 Oaks. It is a small, well run city where the city government nips issues like this in the bud before it gets out of control.
Thanks for your good intentions in making this video. However, it seems that homelessness a known problem in the country and in many parts of the world. I agree with you that no human being should live under those conditions and that the current mayor and governor may not doing enough to solve the issue, but I dont i don’t think they’re the sole responsible of the situation. I also think is a complex situation to fix and it’s gonna take time.

Isnt the Root cause extremely High Rent? There needs to be places for People that just make minimum wage to Rent.
High rent is one of the factors, there are many etc... the highest Tax bracket in the nation , high gas prices food , social programs that don't work and i could go on on . Raising the minimum wage to 15.00 does not work ! In Cali , I think it is already 15.00? it doesn't work because it causes inflation and prices for goods go up. It will cause companies to only hire part-time or have fewer employee's working full time doing twice as much work. Small businesses will not be able to compete or pay these wages. It all sounds good , but its not.

before the 2002 olympics in utah the authorities in utah sent all the homeless to vegas. the city of las vegas took notice of that and sent them back to salt lake city. LOL. social problems are very complex in america freedom is complicated. other countries will jail people if they are homeless but they also might set ways to get them jobs. many homeless do not want to change their lifestyle or they are disabled.
