  • Classic Italian Tiramisu Recipe
    Ingredients:
    - Double Cream: 500g
    - Mascarpone Cheese: 250g
    - Lady Finger Biscuits (Savoiardi): 20 pieces
    - Sugar: 80g
    - Egg Yolks: 5 large
    - Coffee: 1 tablespoon
    - Hot Water: 1 cup
    - Cocoa Powder/Chocolate Powder: 100g
    - Some Water (for mixing coffee)
    Instructions:
    1. Prepare the Coffee Mixture:
    - Dissolve 1 tablespoon of coffee in 1 cup of hot water. Set aside and allow it to cool.
    2. Prepare the Egg Yolk Mixture:
    - Separate 5 egg yolks and place them in a heatproof glass bowl.
    - Bring a pot of water to a gentle simmer. Place the glass bowl over the simmering water, ensuring that the bowl does not touch the water.
    - Whisk the egg yolks continuously to prevent them from scrambling. Gradually add 80g of sugar, continuing to whisk until the sugar fully dissolves and the mixture becomes pale and creamy (about 5-7 minutes).
    - Remove the bowl from the heat and allow the egg yolk mixture to cool to room temperature.
    3. Prepare the Cream Mixture:
    - In a large mixing bowl, beat 500g of double cream until stiff peaks form.
    - In a separate bowl, whisk 250g of mascarpone cheese until smooth. Gently fold the mascarpone into the whipped cream until well combined.
    - Once the egg yolk mixture has cooled, fold it into the cream and mascarpone mixture until smooth and well combined.
    4. Assemble the Tiramisu:
    - Quickly dip each lady finger biscuit into the prepared coffee mixture, ensuring both sides are coated but not soaked.
    - Arrange a layer of coffee-soaked lady fingers at the bottom of a rectangular serving dish.
    - Spread half of the cream mixture over the lady fingers, smoothing the surface with a spatula.
    - Repeat with another layer of dipped lady fingers and cover with the remaining cream mixture.
    5. Finishing Touch:
    - Sift a generous layer of cocoa powder or chocolate powder over the top layer of cream.
    6. Chill:
    - Cover the tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
    7. Serve:
    - Before serving, dust with a bit more cocoa powder if desired. Slice and enjoy your creamy, coffee-infused tiramisu!
