This was probably the single most dominant showing I’ve ever seen from T1, or just about any team. Keep in mind LNG is a very good team, they took JDG to a 5 game series. Yet T1 dismantled them, every single one of their players gapped the hell out of their counter part on LNG. Normally you can point to one or two players who stood out the most in a win, but with this series the entire team just played nuclear. They could very well lift the trophy this year
i feel like T1 vs JDG last year was far more dominating. This series was T1 being calm, taking their time, taking good decisions, not rushing fights and scaling. And it made LNG desperate. In the end this playstyle fits more to them. I honestly believe this team will make it to finals.

I know a lot of people say T1 always fumbles in the end at an international stage but quick reminder this is a team that is known to be a dangerous opponent to LPL teams. The way they play around most LPL teams are very methodical and different vs LCK, they recognize the aggresiveness and playmaking of these LPL players well. I dont think the LPL teams acknowledge the fact that out of all the LCK teams T1 is the biggest enemy for them.
Yeah really good point, i'm kinda sad this series was such a stomp as lng is actually a good team, but props to T1, they studied very well the opponents and countered their playstyle. For example lng loves early dragons and going for soul point early and T1 countered that by choosing very aggressive botlanes with prio in early game and lng were lost and didn't know what to do.
You don't know much about LPL and don't watch it either. LPL stopped being only hyperaggressive years ago and many teams now play various of styles. LNG is an example of a team that plays more calmly and doesn't take the risk if not needed. They are more like the LCK team than LPL. It's just today the first game made them so tilted that they went full agro mode abandoning their style completely. But JDG is not like them, they can play any style, early agro or late game for tf and the semi will be the real test for t1.
There are different aspects on aggressiveness, LNG is a more reserved team but when it comes to macro a lot of LPL teams like to make early decisions that open up early objectives and control (with risks involved in a few). I cant watch LPL too much now but I think their formula is just an adjusted version of last year. Just because you dont lean on fights heavily early game does not necessarily mean that the teams dont have the same aggression. The beauty about the LPL teams is that when they recognize that they have even the slightest advantage they often lean on putting more pressure on it which allows them to be more aggressive which in turn becomes dominance. The way LNG played this series is definitely lackluster but I dont think that represents how LPL playmaking is.
Not necessarily, metas change but the playstyle is different. LEC imitates a lot of LPL and LCK playstyle but their teams fail to get it right because a lot of their players fail to make proper setups and dont capitalize timings well. NA tries to do the same but they end up failing worse because at the end of the day a lot of their players rely to much on comfort picks even if it goes against them, they also make more attempts on engages and objectives even if they dont have any leverage. The best LPL and LCK use smart aggression but what makes the difference is their timings and setups. A lot of LCK teams are used to and sometime rely too much on a passive playstyle which impacts macro decisions making teams that know how to be aggressive have an edge but LPL teams mostly lean on a more "push the issue" approach which makes skill mostly the difference between top tier teams and lower tier teams. Newer breed of pro players are definitely making some changes on each regions playstyle but if most of their population does something already then why wouldnt they imitate it.
