I've had this for about 3 months, the shoulder strap is comfortable, extreeeemely durable, BUT, it is sooo heavy, even when it's empty. If you are looking for a traveling backpack, I'd stick with north face or patagonia. Same durability, but just so much lighter and fits much more. able carry is purely an all-day or perhaps stay over-at-your-friend's-over-the-weekend city backpack
Being 6’4” sucks sometimes. I’m big and by extension so are my clothes. 30l bags is pretty much where I start if I don’t want to look like I’m wearing a sling.
I'm an old, short, fat little bastard and just spent 30 minutes of my life watching your shirt video. Loved it, even though none would fit me without looking like a head in a condom. Keep up the reviews Mr. Reeves, great stuff!
Chase, I agree that the Chute is the greatest water bottle out there and bought one because of you. I've noticed the same issue with the handle in tight water bottle pockets (Bellroy Transit Plus, etc.) and always thought it would be cool if Camelbak made a lid like their "hot lid" for the Chute without a handle. So, carry the bottle with the handle lid when you want it and when you need the space, just switch to the one without the handle. I've given that feedback to Camelbak, but it would probably actually make a difference if you were supportive. If you like the idea, maybe you can get them to focus on it. I think many Chute owners would spring for a second lid. Thanks in advance.
It has been very hard to choose a new backpack for travel. I decided to return a Prvke 31L because I don't have much camera gear anymore. I'm looking at: Able Carry Max Aer Travel Pack 3 Boundary Supply Arris Heimplanet Transit Line 34L Peak Design 45L Do you have a preference between them all?
Eh Chase, my carry-on Minaal is 35 liters, and seems smaller than this Max... can you show us a comparison ? As well as with the Peek Design travel backpack ? Thanks (nice hat 😂)
Awesome review! Do you think the water bottle compartment could also serve as a quick access for a camera (like a small dslr) when the bag is not too packed out?
Thank you Chase Reeves for the AWESOME review. I am torn between getting the blue, black or green version of the bag. Any suggestions on what color to choose. Also, I have two laptops, one 15 inch macbook and one 13 inch macbook. Do you think a 15 inch macbook in a Tom Bihn laptop sleeve with a 13 inch macbook fit comfortably and, above all, safely in the laptop compartment? Thanks.
Jibby jabbies 🤣 Chase at his best....right after the all-time cobblestone “tagadatagadatagada....”😊 I actually bought this bag and it arrived last week - and it’s really complete. Love it. Like your new podcast btw. Greetings from Switzerland, as always enjoying this with a mug of delicious fresh coffee on my tv😊☀️
This bag at 30L is more of a travel bag and not EDC. This bag is definitely similar to the Bellroy Transit. Both worth considering if you are looking for this size.
if you order the backpack to ship to oher country need to pay about 25 usd for shipping, + 105 usd for import taxes, isnt worth it, the shipping addres was in Canada not Greenland but thanks for the review Chase, you are awesome.
I own the PD 45L and slimmed down to 30L the snaps always…. Well snap. So it is a useless feature if the bag is moderately loaded. Definitely not EDC. Too bulky and heavy. As a travel bag at 35-45L it is veeeery good. Sturdy, durable, functional and comfortable. But as a minimalist traveler, I was actually looking at this video to go for the able carry max. It is simpler and smaller, which is what I want. I can easily pack 4-5 days of clothes there together with my nano puff and other basics, and that’s all I need for infinite travel :D
NEED SOME HELP, planning on taking 2 major trips later this year (COVID allowing) and so I need a backpack about 35-45L under $250 ideally, the first trip is backpacking western Europe for little over a month and the second is a 2-3 week hiking trip through the Appalachian Trail. I dont want to buy 2 backpacks so I want a bag that I can use through Europe (and other future urban trips) and is semi fashionable so I dont seem like a complete tourist but also not overly techy as I want it to be good my hiking trip (or any hiking trip for that matter). Other things I would like if possible is sternum/hip belt, strong water resistance, and lockable zippers, and it looking semi fashionable so it doesnt look like a mountain backpack while im going through Paris or a overly techy bag through the woods/mountains. someone please help, personally if I could id make my own bag but probably cant
Well, that assumes 20L is big enough. I carry a 15-inch dell XPS and a 13 inch iPad pro daily (w/ chargers, MX master 3, dongles, HDMI cable(s)), and occasionally some workout clothes and an extra pair of shoes. Not something g the PD could handle, unfortunately. PD also seems very awkward to put misc stuff that can't go in cubes. Sometimes I like to throw in my canon m50 camera with a couple of lenses too.
Man I really like the layout of the bag but I'm worried it would be too big (more with the height then the capacity/depth) on my 5'9 frame. Great video though Chase.
If you are using for travel it should look ok. For EDC definitely too big. If you want a smaller similar to this look at the Bellroy Workpack. It's killer.
Hi Javier, if you scroll down to the bottom of our Kickstarter, you'll see we have a model who's 5"9 wearing the bag. Hope it gives you sense of the sizing for your height. bag.gg/AbleCarryMax
@@ablecarry If you guys dont mind me asking, why is there only one yt-reviewer with the tarmac black version? would have been nice to see this more often to get a better sense of the looks
You realized that pretty much all bags/products are made there right? Even the stuff you’d considered “good quality.” It’s not where it’s made that determines quality. It’s up to brands manufacturing. iPhones are made in China, are they bad quality? Folks like you are quick to judge where an item is made i.e. China and complain but when it’s a good product it’s never mentioned. When you got the majority of the worlds products coming from China statically of course you’re going to get the bad. Open your mind...
@@bangbanglllll Some chinese stuff is good I agree. I do think when it comes to bags Vietman takes the lead in quality of bags. And I am a quality professional.

Is “Old, Short, Fat Little Bastard” your hip-hop/rapper name? 🤔
Impeccable timing. I just saw this bag 3 days ago and searched your channel to see if you had a review yet.
If I see a “buddy” walking toward my home wearing a backpack I’m closing the drapes and not answering the door. 🤣🤣🤣
Ha! Touché

"Because I am a professional".....this made me smile. (Just watched the sling review)
How does this bag compare to the Belroy transit backpack?
this is my new travel bag, i couldn’t imagine taking up 30 liters for a daily carry bag
Also the fact that I don't use points 😆
Mad review as usual, Chase.
I really like this bag for minimal travel
love the layout but too heavy for edc. They should make a 24-27L size
They do make a nice 20L size it's called the "everyday"
Same thoughts.. A 24-27 liter version of this will be the closest to perfection for an edc carry bag..
How’s the green in person? Better than black?
Reminds me of the EVERGOODS MPL30 V2, which I absolutely love.
Chase, I was having a shit day and you threw out “Ruffles have ridges” and turned it all around. Thanks man. :-) You’re doing good work friend.
Wow... I really like this thing. Just when I thought I wasn't buying any more backpacks until COVID goes away.

What do you think of the max vs the prvk of wandrd for go to work and edc?
Got the Prvke and am looking at the Max. The Prvke is super tight when filled and pretty uncomfy for packing and organizing :/
@@samthebuuilder I finally bought the Max and it's really comfy and ergonomic for my use.
@@Em3rith that’s awesome to hear :)
Hey chase, does the pocket that fit 4 business card in laptop compartment fit the Nintendo switch?
and the business papers ? i was dissapointed
Question
Is the main compartment deep enough to incorporate a camera cube? My cube is about 4.5” deep.

Nice backpack!!
EI,where can I buy or order ur hat??like that??,I mean ur hat?I'm interested!!!
How durable does the mesh feel? It looks a little “light”
Which mesh? iPad sleeve on the tech pocket? Feels fine to me. Not as good as evergoods stretch mesh tho.
Why doesn't this bag have a waist strap?
Love the hat dude xD
Just an FYI... you're my fav pothead RUclipsr
This or the Peak Design Travel Backpack (slimmed down to 30L)?
I was wondering the exact same thing... it seems to be nice, as I have the Peak Design and seem a lot of similarities.

Check out the ULA equipment ATLAS (in black) with option for a waist strap. Ore the ULA dragonfly (no waist strap). Both need packing cubes.
Or the other option would be waymark gear co evlv or thru. These are through hike bags that could be used for travel as a secondary purpose
That hat, man! 😃
in my opinion the peak design everyday zip 20L or 15L blows this one out of the water or any other everyday carry backpack

A bit pricey for a Chinese bag.
Incorrect. Not at all pricey for the quality of this build. Put it next to anything in person and you'd agree.
