She could have easily ended Deacon manipulating Bridgette& still held on to Rick. All she had to do was bluff and say she’s coming back to him He would have cut Bridgett loose And then she could have laughed in his face. She didn’t do that because she has feelings for him.

This entire era of B&B is damn near coma inducing. Virtually nothing of interest or importance happens. The Thorne & Brooke, Rick & Amber and Tony & Kristen "romances" are absolute snoozefests. The only good thing is the addition of Deacon and his *disgusting* affair with Brooke and the ensuing fallout.
Agree that the storylines on the show are lacking during this period. Over the top Deacon appears to be the only character creating havoc and drama as B&B descends into dullness. 🤷♀️

Hmm. I get it, I love the beginning of the series. Stephanie meddling and controlling, fighting with Brooke. The OG cast does seem to take a back seat for a while. But I like the “new” characters and how they meddle in the established characters’ lives. And I love Kristen and Antonio!
B&B desperately needed more diverse characters. In 2001 to have an all white cast was surprising, especially set in LA. I liked the storyline for Tony and Kristen but wish the characters were more established before going down that road. My guess is ratings were steadily declining and the producers were pushed to make quick shifts in direction to attract more viewers. In retrospect, I believe the death of Macy was less about SL direction and more about shaking things up to attract viewers.
