    What shutter speed do you usually use? And how do you deal with low light? Do you use auto ISO and limit it?. I just bought my camera 2 weeks ago and it's all because of you two (Jasong Vong) been following you two since the alogrithm suggested both of you ❤️

    • @professorhineschoice
      @professorhineschoice  2 года назад +1

      I don’t have a set shutter speed. Low light is something I’m never concerned with. My cameras so quite well for me at high ISO’s. I don’t ever use auto ISO either and only manually select it. That and aperture are the only things I’m manually selecting.

    I almost always carry a full frame and an APS-C body. Having both available doubles my lenses. If you have a 24mm, 45mm, and 85mm lens, the APS-C body makes them shoot like a 36mm, 67mm and a 127mm. Both bodies are 24MP bodies, so there isn't much difference in image quality, as long as the light is decent.

That said, I really love you talking about the choice of using the 80mm lens. I will at times snap that closeup, yet it feels very unsettling for me. I'm not usually an 'across the street' photographer, so people do catch me, but a lens with some distance feels more respectful. Hearing you talk about that was profoundly validating for me.

      What’s boring to you may not be boring to others. I started in a very small city, but I created my Everyday Life collection, on focusing on things we may walk by daily but don’t take time to pause and notice and photograph those things. It made for me being more analytical in how I capture images.

    Hey Prof! I'm new to photography, and I'd love to do what you do, but the wide angles lens is confounding to me! I don't feel as...creative? Any tips?

    • @professorhineschoice
      @professorhineschoice  2 года назад +1

      Thought usually with wide angles is to capture everything in the frame. Try to find specific areas to focus on and it just the wide scene at hand, or try creative frames with certain special effects to them. There are many ways a wide angle can be a creative option… the idea is to look beyond it being a lens that captures “everything”.

    When it comes to taking photos in the city, especially smaller cities, the frequency with which you move / cross the same places. People who live in that area of the city will be there all the time and one day they may take you by the neck when you least expect it.
    I do upgrade my lenses as I like the camera body as it is. I know all the settings and the limit of the camera. The lenses have their limits too and thats why I do have them so they overlap each one another.
    16-50: You need to run extremly fast if you can´t explain why you´re in peoples faces.
    18-105: You have time to get away and look like an turist most of the time.
    55-210: This one is tricky, coz they spot you fast as it look like at star telescope from the side. But if you´re fast to take the photo then you have 4x more time to get away than you have with the first lens.
