Europe was based on a hierarchy of Kings, Princes, Nobles, and different classes with different laws (Clergy, Merchant) with Jews usually being at the bottom. Communism was a philosophy that taught there are no classes. We are all brothers. For many Jews it sounded like a dream come true.
