Usualy 40 Density more firm but not always . High density foam also be soft than low density. U can measure firmness of foam by ILD.

Every brand have different models of mattress u have to select perticular mattress as per ur comfort level. For small child medium soft mattress is best. Sleepwell, springwel, duroflex are good brands.
