Musala (Arabic: مصلّى‎) is a room, place or small house resembling a mosque that is used as a place of prayer and recitation for Muslims.
Musala is also often referred to as surau or langgar in some areas.
It is different from a mosque in terms of function because it cannot be used for large-scale congregational prayers as is the case for Friday prayers, in general, musalas are used for small-scale congregational prayers, approximately 10-15 people, depending on the load capacity of the prayer room.
