VS Monika (Doki Doki Takeover) just got an update, but it's now called Doki Doki Takeover Plus and it includes over 30 songs, a bunch of secrets, art, a ton of cute costumes for all the boys and girls in the Literature Club, a gallery, "alternate endings" for the main protagonist, epiphany with lyrics, easter eggs, new game over animations, huge story, Senpai finds a way to glitch into Monika game, a new VA-11 Hall-A song, a new PROJECT LIBITINA song (supposedly its Team Savaltos next game, or did that got debunk?) and much more. This update is pretty huge. Will Boyfriend and Girlfriend be able to beat the Doki Doki Literature Club or will BF & GF be finally defeated?

Holy hell, this update is absolutely PACKED with content even for a 3 hour experience, I really wanna thank the creators for pulling a W and managed to make such a good update to Doki Doki Takeover.

You know what I really love about this? It reminds me so much of the old fnf. Back when every popular mod wasn’t Dave and Bambi or a horror mod, when they were more cheerful, when they weren’t hard but just fun to play, when they featured more original characters and when they actually felt like they belonged in fnf. Sure this mod might be a fnf version of ddlc but it feels so uplifting and there are so many cameo appearances that it gives me real nostalgia. Good times…

Yeah I like FNF mods that are actually playable and around my level (where I don't frequently miss). The combos actually feel satisfying and I love how this mod properly throws a few slightly more challenging songs as you go. It feels right since I also get to practice and actually enjoy the mod and its story rather than being met with the same sequences and 14 minutes of spamming. Personally, I found this mod very enjoyable. It had lots of sick songs and it had cool parts to it like the protagonist's song where they had to choose a doki mid-song, and also the artwork. It was also a crossover with personally one of my favourite games of all time (which I'm still practically addicted to now). This whole mod, especially with the addition of the newest update, really felt like a whole new game in general and is now one of my favourite mods/crossovers/experiences. Massive respect towards the devs.
I’m still blown away by the amount of content, but the fact that they not only acknowledged but made a whole song for Libitina is astonishing. Libitina is some deep, DEEP DDLC lore

the “choose your doki” part was so creative, props to team TBD for their hardwork!
Back when the mod came out, I thought you'd face the protagonist in the festival week.
So it's great to see they gave him a week even if he's not that important in the main game compared to the girls.
The Epiphany song having lyrics is cool, as well as the costumes they added. Always nice to see mods with impactful updates of fanservice.

Reskin to a full mod, time flies fast. A blessed 3 hours mod from the team! Man, it's been two years ago since this came out and yet it's still updated. Been an FNF og now, sure this community is still great to hangout besides from toxicity and blah, blah, blah, drama. I still love it!

- The Pixel Prologue Week had a major overhaul
- Most of the Doki Doki girls are reanimated
- Pixel BF sprites are remade | GF on some slight additional coloring in her pixel sprites
- BF's uniform sprites are also remade; he's actually wearing a proper boys' school uniform
- Some ending cutscenes in the non-prologue weeks have been slightly remade, especially for the most of it at the end of Yuri's week
- Epiphany has a new background, and so does Monika
- The tracks that haven't got much instrumental change are (Poems N' Thorns, Dual Demise, Glitcher (Monika Mix), but it has remade vocals.
- Most of the menu visuals are revamped
- New Costumes, Freeplay-exclusive feature!
- MC is finally an opponent to rap against!
- Epiphany (with Lyrics), is now an additional freeplay difficulty after defeating the normal Epiphany!

Absolutely WORTH the 1 year wait. Greatly represents ddlc and gives a small uneasy vibe yet manages to be cute and friendly, not to mention the absolute bangers packed into it

This mod for me #1 for me just because of the new mechanics, the emotions the stories brings, the remixes, and the overall vibes the mod gives me. The official unpixelated Senpai, the new redesigns for pixelated BF and Monika, and all the new cut scened and outfits really brought the mod to life. This year has been a year of overall bangers in the world of FNF, from Impostor v4 to DDTO+, I can't wait for what else is in store. Thanks to this community and the amazing talent it has, I found some level of sanity in life. :D

I'm going to be completely honestly, I went through the whole thing when I came out yesterday and I gotta say, it was the most fun I've ever had with an FNF mod. From the costumes, to the updated music and visuals. Songs I didn't like all that much before were now absolute bangers, lots of characters got their stories fully resolved(senpai), we got to hear MC actually sing, it's just been lots of fun.
To everyone who worked on this mod, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!

I can really feel the love and care team TBD and those who helped care about this mod.

Nice to see the members of the literature club get their happy endings. Some people think that happy endings detract from the game ro whatever people think, but I always like it. Nice to see Monika reach a new reality, where she is removed from the constraints of the game. I liked the sequence where each member sang with Monika and showed how their lives had improved, wholesome.
You know, the update is so good that the Gameplay reaches 3 hours, I appreciate this mod already
Mods from this game are expanding more and more. It's cool to see how far we've come, first it was OG charcters which were cool (Whitty), then it became finger breaking charts (Whitty/Expurgation), then death notes (Hellclown/Expurgation/Accelerant), other mechanics like instant death (Imposters), then hour long mods, now we have 3 hour long mods. What will happen next?
First VS Impostor, Now DDTO+ 2 masterpiece in just the first 3 months of the year.
I'm 15 minutes in and this is already S Tier. I'd say VS Impostor is slightly better it terms of music wise, But visual wise? This mod definitely takes the cake.

Edit: Just finished the video, What an amazing mod, The details, The art, The song (THEY EVEN HAVE PAUSE MENU ART AND COSTUMES) So so much better than what I expected.
The encore week is pure banger (Especially Our Harmony) The part where Monika start singing the ACTUAL lyrics made me fly. "You and Me" from MC week was amazing as well, The fact that you can choose making this song so unique and fun.

Interesting that they bring oriental music for the Monika & Senpai prologue. It makes sense since it's in "Hating Simulator" where Senpai's spirit is trapped in.
I'm glad that they remade the dialogue for the mod more fleshed out and more full of character while also having some nods/references to the events that would've transpired in Act 3, but are interrupted/started by BF and GF rather than the Player themselves. It's a brilliant move to have the mod be something of a "Good Ending" to the original game's events, and that makes me genuinely happy.
And all the new content is AWESOME! There's so much to see and do and hear! It's a bit overwhelming honestly, but it's all so good! :D
Also, the fact they go down a route of Senpai trying to get with Monika is hilarious. It's both a fun Side Story song AND it addresses the FNF fandom and Senpai and Monika are NOT meant to be together ever since they interacted in the first Monika Mod. XD
Probably the only minor nitpick I have is that I wish that they returned the sprites of the Dokis and MC back to a more "original" style of the OG DDLC game, or at least created some sort of "fusion" of artsyles. The eye colors were something that I felt were lacking despite the Dokis being intentionally made for the FNF style. But it's not that big of a deal. And they remade Monika's pixel sprites, so that's a bonus!
The quality and respect and love and heart and soul that went into this clearly shines through! :)
This whole mod is absolutely outstanding. The devs did an amazing job. The animations, cutscenes, songs, everything. Not to mention the fact that week 1 (Monika pixels week) was completely redone. The songs are so catchy, and the vocals match each girl perfectly (including GF, surprisingly). Amazing job, devs! This may be the best mod this community has ever seen!

I know this bit. It’s from a bar game called Valhalla or VA-11-Hall-A, where the main protagonist Jill serves up drinks to whoever decides to enter the bar.
There’s quite a bit of story in that game and it’s nice for an overall chill experience (if you can handle the topics and conversations they have there heh)

i don't think there's any topping this boys, i think this is the best fnf mod ever made. it uses its source material and wonderful characters so expertly to make an experience that's honestly MILES better than said source material, and is absolutely packed with amazing content. honestly don't think there's a single bad thing about this mod. i really don't think we're getting better than this
This entire mod was a blast! I had so much fun listening to the music and playing the songs. The visuals were outstanding and they really hit different once you've played both DDLC and DDLC Plus. This mod hit it out of the ball park with everything they did. Its mods like this that give me hope for the FNF community.

Speaking of improvements: CommunityGame, I can see that you've also made improvements in terms of your scores, how you play FNF, the FC's and everything. Looking back at the older videos and seeing how far you've come in the now videos, It really amazes me :)

Honestly, I didn’t even REALIZE that this mod was a year old. Times really flies. And they spent this time REALLY well. I love the Libitina song as well as the story the mod builds.

Totally WORTH it after a year of waiting, even though a year ago's mod wasn't so perfect. Represents a good ddlc and this update is really PACKED with long content despite being three years experienced and for the songs it really captivates the deep feeling and happiness that cares for everyone who hears it
I really adore this update Doki Doki Takeover, starting from the new content, the character voices in the song, the character style changes both from the background and cutscenes, adding weeks and costumes.
I discovered DDT and DDT Bad Ending in last summer and I still listen to Markov and Obsession quite often. I'm so happy and nostalgic to see this mod return! I'm glad they added more to the story, and I'm in love with the song revamps.The new Bara No Yume and Your Demise are funkin' FIRE and 8bit Monika's voice isn't grating anymore!
Let me just get this feeling out of me. I absolutely love DDLC with all my heart. Truly the best anime game for me. But this mod... Feels like the biggest gift for my heart. The songs leaves a charming vibe and i couldn't stop headbopping every song, the chart was very fun and fair, the artwork is absolutely wonderful. What could i say other than a frickin' masterpiece. Wow this update is literally on par with Impostor V4, only having a slightly higher time duration. The mod developers have to be commended for having so much patience to a work on a mod for over a year.

I am totally speechless, this is the god tier level of FNF mods. This team did a very great job with this + update too. Im really had fun on this and I hope they gonna continue this mod somehow. Not just, because I can make from these songs my videos, it's because these mods like this is the one of the greatest work in that. The sprites, the arts, the backgrounds, the songs and the sound. It's god tier. And I wish luck for the team in the future updates if they still gonna make. And I wish luck for you GameCommunity in the future videos, keep it up too! ^^
Remember this mod's first appearance? It was just 3 songs, an ordinary week. Now it's a full freaking game.
My only question about the festival is *still* about how Boyfriend knows "It's Complicated" and "Crucify." Those songs are not songs our BF features in, and I am not about to beleive *this* guy is omnicient. I also love Senpai's characterization, and the distinction between him and Spirit, and the overall smaller details. Really gives the mod a nice feel.
It's nice seeing Monika get a legit second chance that doesn't go horribly wrong.
(like it did in og DDLC. In OG DDLC After Monika gets deleted. She feels regret for her actions and brings back her friends only for it to go horribly wrong and everything needing to be erased.)
So glad she got to live a better life here with her friends after realising her errors.
She's so happy to know that her loved ones aren't just code and that there is life outside the literature club.

and this makes me want an updated version where the background is filled with cute/pretty girls + their dates and you have the choice of choosing either BF GF or Monika (two who you didn't chose sing) for the cover of the two roasting senpai with the song roasted while the one you chose is just cracking up on the speakers
Really over everything was fabulous. Banger work to the creators, devs and a ton of people who worked hard for this mod after the long wait, i love it a lot and wow this is the coolest masterpiece
It's mods like this one that makes me realize how passionate this community is. With such moving dialogue, fantastic animations, and unique songs, this is certainly one of the best mods out there. I love how they connect the various elements from other mods into this one to show how large the FNF Universe actually is. It's like the various mods are connected to tell a much larger story than what we actually know.

Anyway, my theory on the lore of this mod’s prologue week is that Monika’s character file got cut and pasted from the DDLC character folder to Friday Night Funkin’ Week 6 (after it took place), then the user decided to play Week 6 with Monika’s character file in it just to see what would happen, and it turned out to be this mod’s prologue week
The adorable part where Sayori pipes in during Catfight, and gets oversung almost immediately. And then she sticks around to act as a metronome as the song slowly gets faster and faster as a visual indicator. Perfect.
I've never worried about this mod, but god, it was fantastic. Deserves to be at the top for this year

I love the Protagonist's art in Takeover Medley. They're all so funny.
Genuinely one of the best Mods ever made, I love and respect the TBD team so much, I could tell they really genuinely cared about DDLC in the first few versions of this Mod, But to just flat-out show Libitina, And give her Vocals the same as Yuri's? Yeah... They know everything there is to know about DDLC, A true team of fans for DDLC.
I personally might say this is my favorite Mod ever really, I've always had a soft spot for DDLC and am a big fan of it, But this just feels super special to me nonetheless, There will always be some Mods that remain as my favorites as well, But if I were to name one specific one at THIS point it would be this, I've played this so many times over at this point I've lost track.
It's also just really nice to see Mods get their closure ^_^ This Mod had 0 unnecessary "Drama" ruining it's reputation, And just kept being the amazing thing that it was, I'm so glad it was able to finish on such a great note!

Now, I've been around since the VS Monika version of this mod and It makes me very happy to see how far DDTO has come. The ending put a genuine smile on my face and my sister had a blast playing with me. With a game as dark as the actual Doki Doki Literature Club, the story and ending makes you feel happy for the characters since they get a good ending.

This update was absolutely gem packed. Even for 1 year of development this is still just insane. No room for complaining when there is literally 3 hours worth of content. The devs really made sure they didn't miss a single detail. It's beautiful. The greatest send off ever.

I see what Sayori meant when she said “the song was both happy and upbeat, and yet it felt really sad too”. I guess since the song was happening during a heartbreaking moment, when it was supposed to be a happy moment; it has that unexpected feeling of suspense I guess
We may not have true voices in ddlc but if they did they would match this...less beeps and boops and more speech lol. impressive work to the devs to making vocals for characters without voices and making them actually fit

Just, every second seeing this mod was worth it, every song, every thing in this mod is just PERFECT, I remember when I saw this mod growing, firstly with Monika Full Week, later the big mod, next was the bad ending, and later this masterpiece of fnf.
Literally, I even think this mod has surpass even VS Impostor V4, totally, was one of the my favourite mods ever in Friday Night Funkin', and now stills being, I never felt these feelings with other mod EVER.

Also, cause I said it the last time, fun fact, the arrows are the colors of the girls eyes! Purple = Yuri, Blue = Sayori, Pink = Natsuki, and Green = Monika! Nice little details like that truly make a mod!
You and Me is tied with Our Harmony, both songs are like 11/10 in my opinion. They both sound SOOOO GOOD!

Oh God, this is an awesome update of Friday Night Funkin Doki Doki Takeover. All the songs in this mod are all very beautiful (especially "Our Harmony" and "You and Me"). This mod makes me almost cry over the beauty that is in this mod. Big respect to the team TBD for making this cool mod.
I like the detail in the prologue where monika is facing the camera during the dialogue because she’s self aware and it’s also a referral to ddlc where unlike the other girls almost all of her poses are facing the camera, just standing there.
I watched the whole damn thing because I was so invested into this mod I couldn't stop! And this might just be my favorite mod now! The music is outstanding, the art is charming and the overall quality and content is so jam packed! There's a certain vibe to this mod that makes me feel very good and I really gotta give it to the devs, they nailed it! Fantastic mod, basically a whole new game!
