Wahhhhh bestnyaa gais ! Sadly just watching this after 2 and a half years been publish . For anyone wondered if its true halal or not kan gais , the different between non halal & halal is the meat and the preparation of it . Extra info , the halal one is homemade because of the meat process by the muslims staff in double marination method until the prep for drying it . The chinese or non muslim cant tell the differences between halal and non halal one . But actually , the halal one didn't have 3 things in the marination which is the pork oil , pork fat & chinese wine but some people may not taste the differ either because the main ingredient for the marination still the same . So anyone who still worried abt eating halal bak kwa , dont worry bcos the food registered halal and pass the food ingredient inspection and originally homemade . Ps : Im not an expert abt non halal or halal food , im just a low level chef . But i can halalkan u for sure . Hehe #hambar #peminatseismiktv #peminatsays

In Indonesia it’s called dendeng and it comes in varieties of textures (i know it sounds weird but it seriously is like that in Jakarta lol), the hard-to-chew one usually is used for cooking savory dishes, the chewy and smooth ones shown in this video are sold in supermarket but usually it’s quite the freshly dried ones(?) it doesn’t come in plastic like the hard-to-chew ones
Aku dah try cari dekat laman verify halal..bak kwa tak ada yang berdaftar dengan halal JAKIM..tapi kalau muslim yang buat bak kwa sendiri,tu yang terbaik..aku pun nak try..

Bak kwa for CNY is probably like Serunding for Hari Raya. They have similar role in the way that they are the expensive snacks we eat as we have chat with other people.
I just checked the business's FB page. Their products *do* have JAKIM Halal logos, like what Wei Shen (the video producer) said at around 4:12, but it's highly suspect as they're not listed on JAKIM's Halal Directory. The fact that their business address isn't printed on the product labels makes their claim even *less* assuring. Halal isn't just about using beef and chicken instead of pork. The animal has to be slaughtered by a Muslim who says Bismillah, etc. Can someone sort this out? I would *love* to buy Halal bakkwa. Here's the JAKIM Halal Directory for your reference: www.halal.gov.my/v4/index.php?data=ZGlyZWN0b3J5L2luZGV4X2RpcmVjdG9yeTs7Ozs=
