The new legendary just screams unholy, but since it would be very strong they decided to print it anyway with runes that have no synergy instead of trying to think of a way to balance the card (or simply accept the fact that it's badly designed and simply scrap it entirely).
I mean that's always been the classes identity, alot of their cards would be even more busted if it didn't have rune requirements (on the top of my head the triple blood legendary that does 3 every turn)

Honestly dk needs a rework bc with the way that their cards do multiple things and that’s a normal for them is bad for the health of the game. They designed a class around having powerful cards with deck building restrictions where you can't possibly use all the cards you want in a deck. So they basically force an archetype by releasing only cards that can fit in one type of deck.

its not good enough, because its either in rainbow, which is really bad right now, or blood/frost, which doesnt really have a wincon, the best you could do is them with an empty board with +6 atk ghouls night for the otk, but thats going to take forever zoolock, wouldnt play this because its too slow and you shouldve played a different card this is only going to work for control and midrange decks to give them some sort of inevitability or for better trades with crop or army or the other token minions they have to run to have a viable minions

It's because it would be too strong in unholy decks, but since it doesn't make sense in blood and frost decks it will only see play in rainbow, which is the archetype Blizzard is pushing hard for whatever reason. They're not even trying to hide it anymore.
well... I can see my old deathrattle dk concept coming together really well... with gravekeepers from naxx that scale when you summon rattles.. with giving them reborn, and this rush 2/2 that summon 1/1 that summons 1/1... it might be busted in wild with perma-spam xd

Eliza is pretty strong. What's even more busted is you can Death Growl it onto the new Amalgam and keep getting more and more attack buffs on all your stuff (Hero Power OTK when Mark?)

Also funny that this is an effect like the rogue quest. Can't even copy or steal the minions because the lose the buff or altering their Attack just adds the +1 on top. Atleast make it fair and let it say "for the rest of the game, give your summoned minions +1 attack" Happy to see a 2 mana MUST kill minion with 4 hp that can just be dropped almost whenever. Now DK doesn't even need Excavate. Just play cheap obnoxious minions that are hard to remove into a 2 Mana reborn Reska.

Without ways to tutor Eliza Goreblade, I actually don't think it's that powerful. There's no immediate impact from its own presence on the board and if you have to hold on to cards to duplicate its effect and kill it yourself you're limiting your ability to answer the opponent's blowout turns (which HS is full of these days) as well as postponing the benefit you might get out of the card itself. I think in most use cases, Puppeteer is superior. It adds health and gives a bigger buff, it has taunt and higher health which means it trades better once the card itself gets buffed, and you get the miniature which means you split the benefits or get another shot at triggering the deathrattle should an opponent remove it without triggering it. And even if they do use their silence/transform/poof removals your opponent will eventually run out of answers to deal with your massively buffed minions that actually stick around on the board (which tokens that are just attack-buffed do not). And, of course, you can run 2 of them. To me Eliza looks more like an optional card that you can add to your deck to throw out there at the first opportunity you get and maybe slightly enhance some of your future plays. Forget about combo's that will 'murder your opponent.' There are better tools to accomplish that, such as hand buffed Darkthorn Quilters. Eliza should be a 3.

Am I the only one who's really frusterated that every card they make now is almost exclusively rainbow? I thought the whole point of the rune system was to have a variety of different cards tied to different rune requirements so you could expirement with different combinations for decks. But now every death knight card and deck is just rainbow...
I think you are over reacting to the dk legendary. We have seen a little bit of handbuff DK the last couple of months. And DK playing really big dudes never really took off to be a top tier deck. And I don't see this card being anything that puts that arch type over the line. The card making your hero power better is... decent? But I don't see any DK's running Justicar Trueheart or anything. It is good for rainbow token style decks that want to generate a lot of corpses. And I think it has a good chance of seeing play. But I don't see it being that crazy. I think Corpsescicle is a much scarier card and think it will be run in almost every dk deck that can run it for the duration of it's existence in standard.
I dont think this lefendary is good... you have to play at least 4-5 minions to make 4 mana 4-3 statline worth playing witch is so long. So rating this card you making ''Value mistake'' again

Bit of a fail, that Eliza Goreblade is a deathknight legendary, not a Rogue legendary, considering, you only ever interact with her as a Rogue in World of Warcraft, where she the final opponent for Outlaw Rogues, to get their artifact weapon, the Dreadblades.

The fact that it is a 3 health and not a 4 health legendary, makes it much easier for DK to kill it of so priest, mage or other classes cant copy it 😮. I would say a nerf to this card could be adding a health so its a 4/4 like Helya 😂
eliza dosen't really seem that good tbh, unless you can tutor her. because this type of effects is only really good early. in late game its almost unnoticble unless you prock her deathrattle abhorrent ammout of times
True, that legendary would be cool to play in triple unholy even dk or any kind of frost/unholy aggro but Blizz said nope and decided that this card that can only ever be played in one specific deck that being rainbow dk and it probably won't even be played there..

No joke, I think that Eliza is probably the laziest, least thought out card ever designed for the game. It reads more like a Battlegrounds card than anything.
My thoughts on the so far reveled Death Knight Cards as a DK main: Brittlebone seems strong and seems a stronger and cheaper version of the Yelling Yodeler for only the cost of one unholy rune. Ghouls Night seems only viable as a semi fire ball. Because as corpse-genartion+control card it is worse than Corpse Rotation, sure one 1/1 more but also 1 mana more and you also cant choose the targets so the only upside is that they can attack the enemys face and for that I cant really see it fit in any DK Deck and also it is not building a new archetype. If Ghouls Night would have a no rune-requirement it would maybe help Frost DK get back on the menu but this way it seems not really viable. Dreadbound seems reeally good, it is a decent tempo card for propably Plague DK as a replacement for "Pile of Bones". And last but not least the legendary: I am not convinced that this card is that strong to be worthy of 5/5. Sure the +1 Attack with decent build around (yodeler, brittlebone, mosh pit, …) seems good but on the other hand it is only one attack for each trigger, so you need 2 triggers to be on par with Bloodtap and 3 triggers to be on par with the Spellstone attackwise and my experience says the healthbuffs mattered in most of the cases, and with the Frost and Blood Rune it only fits in a Rainbow Deck. I have seen handbuff Rainbow and it was not bad but I really dont see Eliza puts it over the top even with Brittlebone. And I am not sure DK really wants to waste ressources/cards to trigger the deathrattle. And just playing it would be risky, for counterplay like silence, the excavate-bird, Reno, Yogg/Reska, or all of thief priest (the matchup against thief priest was unwinnable anyway).
What does blood and frost have to do with minions having +1 attack? I guess they tried to prevent the card from being played in unholy decks, but then they could simply just NOT print the card? I feel like most of the balancing in Hearthstone lately could simply be solved by cards being better designed. It's like they deliberately create a problem that they will have to solve later instead of simply not creating it in the first place.

Ive never seen any expansion that has so many cheap cards like this one. Majority of them cost less than 5 mana and build for Aggro/Combo decks.

blood likes making buffs and frost is chip damage
this isnt a summoning card, its just making cards do a little more damage

Buccaneer Work well in the plague package coin it and the next turn you play the minion that generate plagues and you pump out giants super fast

Even though I like rainbow DK, there’s only so much rainbow DK I can play before I want to explore the other things the class can offer, but right now it’s just blizzard shoving rainbow down everyone’s throats for no reason other than they hate double and triple runes now for some reason
Eliza should have just not had any runes, or at least just 1 unholy, because then there’d be variety and complexity in deck building with her, but all we get is rainbow forever 💀

Am I the only one who's really frusterated that every card they make now is almost exclusively rainbow? I thought the whole point of the rune system was to have a variety of different cards tied to different rune requirements so you could expirement with different combinations for decks. But now every death knight card and deck is just rainbow...
I think you are over reacting to the dk legendary. We have seen a little bit of handbuff DK the last couple of months. And DK playing really big dudes never really took off to be a top tier deck. And I don't see this card being anything that puts that arch type over the line. The card making your hero power better is... decent? But I don't see any DK's running Justicar Trueheart or anything. It is good for rainbow token style decks that want to generate a lot of corpses. And I think it has a good chance of seeing play. But I don't see it being that crazy. I think Corpsescicle is a much scarier card and think it will be run in almost every dk deck that can run it for the duration of it's existence in standard.
I dont think this lefendary is good... you have to play at least 4-5 minions to make 4 mana 4-3 statline worth playing witch is so long. So rating this card you making ''Value mistake'' again

At this time Blizzard just gave up and wil print only Rainbow suport cards until FOL goes to wild. I'm a DK main player and this makes me so mad.
Bit of a fail, that Eliza Goreblade is a deathknight legendary, not a Rogue legendary, considering, you only ever interact with her as a Rogue in World of Warcraft, where she the final opponent for Outlaw Rogues, to get their artifact weapon, the Dreadblades.

No reason for this card to be blood frost, Honestly CNE was the worst thing to happen to DK casue they keep trying to make that card work and not making cards for other builds outside of plauge dk. They should go back to triple rune decks

The fact that it is a 3 health and not a 4 health legendary, makes it much easier for DK to kill it of so priest, mage or other classes cant copy it 😮.
I would say a nerf to this card could be adding a health so its a 4/4 like Helya 😂
Eliza isn't that bad... it's not Brann, although it being so cheap and being quite easy to replicated can be very broken...
Brittlebone Buccaneer into Eliza Goreblade and a Mosh pit for good measure then throw in anything and you got yourself an unstoppable army of the dead
eliza dosen't really seem that good tbh, unless you can tutor her. because this type of effects is only really good early. in late game its almost unnoticble unless you prock her deathrattle abhorrent ammout of times

True, that legendary would be cool to play in triple unholy even dk or any kind of frost/unholy aggro but Blizz said nope and decided that this card that can only ever be played in one specific deck that being rainbow dk and it probably won't even be played there..
@@vorrrgy1966 rainbow excavate likes it because pile of bones get even more annoying, it makes handbuff a little nicer since geist, quillboar, and the taunt, a little more dangerous, it makes your control cards like gnome and army better at trading without having to use poison constantly

No joke, I think that Eliza is probably the laziest, least thought out card ever designed for the game. It reads more like a Battlegrounds card than anything.

My thoughts on the so far reveled Death Knight Cards as a DK main:
Brittlebone seems strong and seems a stronger and cheaper version of the Yelling Yodeler for only the cost of one unholy rune.
Ghouls Night seems only viable as a semi fire ball. Because as corpse-genartion+control card it is worse than Corpse Rotation, sure one 1/1 more but also 1 mana more and you also cant choose the targets so the only upside is that they can attack the enemys face and for that I cant really see it fit in any DK Deck and also it is not building a new archetype. If Ghouls Night would have a no rune-requirement it would maybe help Frost DK get back on the menu but this way it seems not really viable.
Dreadbound seems reeally good, it is a decent tempo card for propably Plague DK as a replacement for "Pile of Bones".
And last but not least the legendary: I am not convinced that this card is that strong to be worthy of 5/5. Sure the +1 Attack with decent build around (yodeler, brittlebone, mosh pit, …) seems good but on the other hand it is only one attack for each trigger, so you need 2 triggers to be on par with Bloodtap and 3 triggers to be on par with the Spellstone attackwise and my experience says the healthbuffs mattered in most of the cases, and with the Frost and Blood Rune it only fits in a Rainbow Deck. I have seen handbuff Rainbow and it was not bad but I really dont see Eliza puts it over the top even with Brittlebone. And I am not sure DK really wants to waste ressources/cards to trigger the deathrattle. And just playing it would be risky, for counterplay like silence, the excavate-bird, Reno, Yogg/Reska, or all of thief priest (the matchup against thief priest was unwinnable anyway).
It is insane that all this cards are so much weaker than a shadowstep lol.

What does blood and frost have to do with minions having +1 attack? I guess they tried to prevent the card from being played in unholy decks, but then they could simply just NOT print the card? I feel like most of the balancing in Hearthstone lately could simply be solved by cards being better designed. It's like they deliberately create a problem that they will have to solve later instead of simply not creating it in the first place.
