- Never before have you seen so much coke in one place. More than 12 tons of cocaine bricks were seized from the most powerful drug barons in Europe - that’s Albanian narcos, also called the Balkan cartel. Let me tell you about it.
The Mob Reporter here with details on the operations that not only captured 12 tons of South American cocaine, but also 20 of the people alleged to be behind it.
The enormous haul arrived from South America in two shipments. The largest of the seizures weighed more than 8 tons, equivalent to 7.5 metric tonnes, packed in the center of shipping pallets and surrounded by frozen tuna. The businessman accused in this caper has companies registered in the province of A Coruña. The company’s name is Spanish for Blue Sea. More like white tide. Police say it was likely planned to feed the increased demand for cocaine over the Christmas and New Years holidays.
It landed in the Port of Algeciras at the mouth of the Strait of Gibraltar, and then shipped to Vigo, in Spain’s northwest, aboard a cargo ship registered in Liberia. The containers were then hauled 90 miles north by truck, to an industrial warehouse in Cambre.
The smaller of the two seizures announced this week - almost four tons, or 3.5 metric tonnes - arrived at Spain’s eastern port of Valencia. And although less than half the size, in some ways it’s more interesting. The cocaine was hidden in secret compartments specially built into shipping containers. It was moved to a warehouse in Xirivella. The gangsters were cautious. Cops raided the warehouse, the restaurant, and stopped circling counter-surveillance vehicles.
The cocaine originated in Colombia and likely packed for Europe at Guayaquil, a port in Ecuador. Most of those arrested are Albanians, police say. There were also a few Spaniards, a Colombian and a Dominican.
Police say the Balkan gangs, Albanians first among them, are the cocaine kings of Europe, now.

I got some stories that might interest the mob reporter: In the neighbouring village of Landgraaf, Nederland one guy was arrested for 11.5 tons of cocaine in November 2020, about 5km from where I live. This year about 3km from my house this other guy was arrested where they had a picture from SKY ECC with 400kg of cocaine but after a shooting with columbians they only found 47 kg of cocaine, 30 kg of hash and 6 handgrenades. This always happens when police want to justify a budget increase or a politician doesn't receive campaign contributions. States, counties, cities, police, courts and others make more by letting it be sold and then busting single users to collect jail fees, court fines, probation fees, counseling costs, asset forfeiture, adding ppl to a database and more. After investigating years now they know the tree leaves come from, who picked it, transported, processed, packaged, smuggled, sold, shipped, warehoused, cut, resold to who and who knows who knows who is related to who is friends with who, ect. ect.

The Albanians definitely have the UK market sewn up . They are far more efficient and hard working than the locals . They'll be bang on time or early with a superior product to their competitors. 24/7 .
Moving the stuff without owning it is probably a better deal than having to move the stuff yourself . When it goes well you made a ton of cash for just bringing in a shipment without all the extra heat that trying to distribute tons of cocaine brings .
Remember George from the movie blow , he got like a grand or something for every kilo he flew in. I’m sure these guys are doing something similar . So just imagine how much they make when the succefully bring in an 8 ton load.
Once it’s brought in and offloaded it’s not uour problem anymore . No worrying about selling to undercover or setting up distribution rings . Just bring it in , hand it off and get paid .

If given bail they will vanish into another country, but one with no extradition agreement with Spain. This may as you quoted is just a tip of the iceberg. If they find this in two cases how much is unknown of that gets through. All shipping from south American countries should be stopped and searched thoroughly by customs and navy ships around the earth.
Unfortunately as long as there is greed people will continue to be paid off and stuff will get through.

Depend wich country. Spain not 30-40k i have even heard like 50k(how true it is i dont know), Amsterdam 30-40k, scandinavia from 40-50k depend how much kg you buy. Before corona it was alot cheaper but from corona to now it got more expensiv like every 3-5 months
