    Hi Ivan
    I just wanted to thank you for what you do. I have been driving around NYC for over 30 years. I know all the short cuts and different neighborhoods as well as so called back roads. A friend with a bad back gave me his scooter. I had it for about a month doing nothing with it. I came across your channel and got inspired to try it. I have been riding my scooter ever since loving it. Like you said it is therapeutic, I have been a social worker for over 25 years and riding to work like you do, I find it very therapeutic. I love figuring out different routes and usually take the long way for the ride. I also like using my knowledge of the city to get to my destination on the scooter. I have a Kukirin GMax2. I have developed my skills on it. I follow all your post and gain knowledge and Insite now that I am part of the E-scooter community.
    As I mentioned I have a Kukirin G2MAX. I think it’s great, however I feel ready to purchase my first high performance scooter. Thanks to you I have settled on the NAMI Blast MAX. I am saving up for it and should be able to purchase it by the end of September. I plan on riding everywhere however I wanted your advice on security precautions for locking it up on trips. I plan on using a kryptonite lock and disc lock. Obviously, I will never leave it outside overnight but wanted your advice for locking up such an investment outside for an hour or two. Also, what are your honest views on the NAMI Blast Max.
    Once again thank you for what you do and your inspiring channel on youtube. I hope to meet you one day or get some more knowledge and insight on scootering around the city. God Bles and be safe out there.

    Nice vid as always Ivan. Down with the calm morning commute. Sometimes I get that while going to work into Manhattan, sometimes I don't. It can be tough in the city tho, as I have to contend with a lot of what you face. My pet peeve is aggressive bikers that go over 30 mph on the bike lanes cuz they are in marathon mode. That's fine on clear, open streets...but not cool during rush hour. Stuff like that make me ride in the streets...cuz cars tend to be more predictable.

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for watching, always appreciate the support! That’s the thing with commuting in the city. Some days it’s amazing, there are some days that just get on your nerves lol. Yea, bikers and mopeds get on my last nerve. The moped guys are just reckless and they’re gonna kill someone on those narrow ass bike lanes. But the bikers… I’m not sure what they have to prove but they always cut you off, always act like they’re racing you, and the spandex guys act like they’re racing in the Tour de France… The other thing that gets on my nerves are the PEV guys blasting it and ducking in weaving doing 40 in the bike lane in full power rangers armor in rush hour. It’s like, stick to the roads if you’re gonna do things like that, they’re making us all look bad…
      Btw, do you change your modes depending where you’re riding or do you stay on mode 5 the whole time?

    • @sabaki16
      @sabaki16 10 месяцев назад

      @@eyebahnrides Aw man, I can go on for days about all those points! Love riding my escooter, wouldn't give it up. BUT I can live without the (gas) mopeds jumping into the bike lanes whenever it's convenient for them, and the bikers (esp. the spandex guys) cutting everyone off including cars trying to win some race lol. Surprisingly I don't run into other high powered PEV riders on my commute to work. Could just be my route, but I see them more on the weekends. But I know what you mean, some of them tear up the bike lane going 40 mph, making us look bad. I keep it to 20 mph on the bike lanes as best as I can, but will go over when keeping up with traffic in the streets, or if the bike lane is completely empty.
      As for switching modes, I don't do it much. For my Phantom I have 4 levels, and generally keep it on level 2, which'll get me tops 30 mph. This is good for commuting during rush hour and riding either in the bike lanes or in the street on the fly with moderate power. I'll switch it to level 3 (max 37 mph) in certain areas in my neighborhood when cars are flying on long streets that have no pedestrians, or if I need extra power fast to pass someone slow on streets that are busy. I rarely use my 4th level (Ludo mode), its dumb fast going over 40 mph, but it drains the battery too quickly. If I had a Nami tho, I might keep it on the highest setting not worried about my battery going empty.

    I don't live in the city, but the bridge route gives me a heart attack XD They way you zoom pass the riders that keep to the middle of the bike path is brave. My brain is always hoping they don't make a sudden turn in your direction, lol.

      Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel Dee! First, congratulations on the Klima! It's an amazing scooter and one that I might be downsizing to in the future. I really enjoyed my time on it and wouldn't even mind switching to it.
      Lol, the crazy thing about this route is it get's even more congested when the weather is really nice. I can't even filter my way through because there's so many pedestrians and bikes! That's one of the reasons I never honk my horn and I do a very gentle overtake. I don't trust anyone on the road to behave normally so I'm always riding very defensively.

      As for the question: I'd be very wary to try riding in the city tbh. Downtown Miami's roads tend to be very closed in and narrow with a bit too much blindspots for my liking. But escooters are pretty popular with the rentals and all, so I'm guessing it's not too bad in practice compared to NYC.

    You ready for the storms this weekend Eyebahn. Did a quick run today to my son's school and back. Kids love the side panels (highschool). Do you think the scooter is better suited then the Super73 for these conditions? Maryland is going to get drenched with rain from the tropical storm. Would Rain-X help with the shield on your helmet?

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  10 месяцев назад

      Thanks for watching! I'm definitely not ready for the storms coming this weekend. I know we're about to get hammered and i don't usually ride if I know it's going to be pouring. Since the ebike companies never really give you an IP rating, I think the scooters are better for these types of conditions. I know that the Nami's displays, controls, internals and motors are IP55 so I'm quite confident riding it in these kinds of conditions. It's also much easier to clean because I can just hose it down. That's one of the biggest reasons that my scooter is still my primary form of transportation even though I have the S73 and the esk8.
      I haven't tried the Rain X. It should definitely help!

Like, "this is my scooter, I put this, and that, I am using this, links in the description if you want to buy the same..."

    • @eyebahnrides
      @eyebahnrides  9 месяцев назад

      Hmm.. let me see if there's a way to integrate that type of intro into the video. I tried something like that a few times before and I could see in the analytics that people would tune out of the video all together instead of skipping through it. That's why I just do the suiting up sequence when i do the "Full Ride videos" . I think I'd be able to work that into the "Vlog" videos in the future.
      I'm hoping that I can eventually make more than one video a week because there are a few things that I'd like to do but don't have time to because of how long my work hours are. Eventually I hope to add BTS Vlogs, Reviews, a new series/interviews, more group rides, and new locations to ride. That would allow me to be more creative in the future.

      I got done working this afternoon and took the esk8 down to the beach knowing this weekend looks like a windy washout. I used the Ride app for the first time. I got three miles into the ride and got a flat in the rear. I stood on the front and did a slow ride back and switched to the 120mm Cloud Wheels. I did another 14 miles and called it a evening when my left/back knee started bothering me (normal for me after a lot of riding). I was worried about the street wheels kicking out as there's some random light sand scattered along the beaches where I was riding, but they held very well when I was carving hard at decent speeds (15-20 mph), these wheels really impress me. Not quite as smooth as the 150mm Hota AT's, but very respectable and no worries about getting a flat miles into a ride either!

      Compared to the number of occupants in our office building not that many. However, the bike room is always at capacity when the weather is nice. thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel OG. The helmet I generally wear is the TSG Pass Pro.
      As for the inverted swingarm, I don't see it causing problems more than a standard C swingarm that we see on regular scooters. I'm also not an engineer so keep in mind this is just my opinion as a PEV enthusiast lol

    I am seriously not sure which one to buy, the Klima Max or the Blast Max. The store I'd goto doesn't sell the base versions. I don't technically need the speed, but I want the range. Is the extra $1000 worth the extra 10Ah the Blast max gives? Other things besides the battery too are the increased tire size and stuff like that.

      1000 will get you 30ah of amazing samsung 50s 21700 batteries ! Buttt you'll have to build the pack!

      @@VmaxfodderYou mean to keep as a spare battery pack? As in saying I should just go for the Klima?

      @Masters-rc9sc that depends on your habits vs. Needs . I think everyone should definitely find great sourced batteries for sure ,or build your own . They use junk Batteries, and fake nickel plated iron strips ? That could lead to easy mega fires 🔥 ! A small trust worthy battery is worth more than thousands of huge capacity junk builds ! . Demand quality builds . I made a pack with JK bms, and LG m50lt ,and am totally happy with the self balance built inside . What ever you decide? Ride safe !

      The blast max is a bit closer to the the BurnE2 Max while the Klima Max is closer to the Klima but with more range and the brand name battery pack. In my opinion, the range seems to be about the same. The larger motors/ higher draw of the controllers and the higher speeds of the Blast max pull more from the batteries than the smaller Klima. If range, comfort and a nimble ride in a smaller form factor is a priority, I would go Klima. If you want that insane pull, unique design, track/muscle car feel, and need the 50+ mph for the roads around you go with the blast max.
      I had time with the base Klima and I think I used up the less battery on my long range high speed ride compared to the ride I did the blast max! However, I was cruising at 45-53 mph with the cars on the Blast Max instead of 37-41 on the Klima Base. Both are also very stable at speed where you won’t even need a damper.
      The ride also felt relatively similar even tho the Klima has smaller tires. The really stiff suspension of the BM made it pretty bumpy on rough roads.
      I hope this helps! As always, I suggest getting on the demo scooters if it’s possible because one will definitely call to you more when you’re on it. If I decide downsize from the gen 1 Burn E, I’m still leaning towards the Klima Max even though the blast was insanely fun.

      @@eyebahnrides Ya I had been thinking the increased size would cut down on mileage. Also, I don't see myself going max speed even on the Klima, Max I might go is 50km/h, which is about 32mp/h. I might go to max speed on the Klima on occasion, but I would NEVER touch the max speed on the Blast. The only other thing I really liked about the blast is the deck size. But ya, I guess all in all, the extra grand isn't worth it. Thanks.

    I'm enjoying your videos and seeing some of the city scenes in your part of the world. I can 'feel' the rain - I've had a couple of very wet rides myself on my Nami Burn-E 2 Viper. (70 year old who enjoys commuting to golf each day plus scooting around the course - about a 22 km daily round trip). Here is the end of my wettest ride so far as I arrive home - at least I had some wet weather gear on... ruclips.net/video/0_KJRdou7DA/видео.html

      thanks for joining us for this ride and welcome to the channel Gregg! Apologies for the delayed response. Back to back illness wiped me out for a while and I'm finally getting back to work and finally catching up here on RUclips.
      I'm glad you've been enjoying the sights on the channel. My goal original goal was to share an in the trenches perspective of NYC since most people only really get to see the "aerial glamour b-roll footage" of it. That's an incredible roundtrip you have, glad to see you enjoying the E2 in that way! I'll check it out the video after I finish catching up on all the comments and finish uploading the video for tomorrow!
      Because of this ride and the Klima ride, I now carry extra rain gear with me in my bag anytime I see clouds in the forecast lol.
