I think you have to scale your expectations to the fare. TAP is nearly always the cheapest fare for TATL flights in every class. I've done my share of premium cabin flights. I'd do TAP considering it's significantly less expensive than its peers. My #1 ask for long-haul is enough space and lay-flat so I can sleep. They did that pretty well and served a decent meal. If anything, this video shows TAP is a pretty viable choice.

I've traveled them Miami to Lisbon twice. Only complaint was that the stewardesses disappeared after serving the meal. English translations of the instructions were rushed. However, It was a great flight and well worth the price; I had 3A single seat turned toward window. good entertainment selection, earphones were adequate . Really great meals. Seat/bed was comfortable but I slept better with it partially up. Used the enclosed ear plugs. Blanket and pillow were adequate. Airport staff in Miami were professional and very helpful. I did not use the Wi-FI. I would definitely recommend TAP business class. You should consider learning some basic Portuguese (European not Brazilian) phrases to be polite.
I fully agree with you - i just did Lisbon - Miami and Miami- Lisbon on executive and there was zero interaction from the crew until around 1 hour into both flights. A hello or a welcome drink are cheap and effective ways to cause a good first impression.

My wife and I flew LIS-YYZ last year in business class and it was ok but the big problem as we were making connections in LIS we could not use the lounge there because of the delays with the inbound aircraft both outbound and inbound.
Is there also no pre departure drink on the a330? The drink service might slow down the boarding of economy class passengers. Regarding the crew, I know tap quite well (in the front and in the back) and I always wonder that they only do the bare minimum because their employer pays them very little and also maybe because of the culture within the company. Both really much depend on the management. Cheers
Useful. Was pondering a flight from London to Winnipeg (via Lisbon/Toronto). Air Canada, Lufthansa etc were €3400 or so, TAP €1600 so a big difference. The seat configuration was a bit bizarre - I'm wondering if you can choose the single/'throne' seat or have to pay a bit extra. I think it would be worth it.

Ok! On KLM you get more chinese plastic junk. Great! Oh, and you like to chat with the "personnel" as soon you get on board. I imagine that happens on KLM too. There the smiles are included on the ticket price.
I'm very impressed, but then again you have the feeling it is too tight, but then again it is a 321, which obviously is not impressing. I like it, but I don't like it, it could've been better, but it could've been worse. I'm an expert in airlines, I live on airplanes, I always expect some Tai massage, but then again by TAP you always get Shiatsu massage, which then again could've been better, but could've been worse as well. Well next time I might get more impressed, but the best part is that the plane doesn't crash and I get home safe and sound, but then again, I could've have come up safer and sounder, but then again ... I missed the flight because I fell asleep in the business class lounge. What a drag ...
Nice video and review. TAP is not known for its consistency but on the 6 or so legs I’ve flown (in business) I’ve always enjoyed it. I love Portugal and it’s people but culturally I think they can be a bit more reserved than others. I’ve always enjoyed the catering and I like their lower business class fares. My husband and I did sit together on the A321 and I found the seats to be pretty good. Hope you enjoyed your stay in YYZ. I look forward to seeing your reviews……John 🇨🇦

I flew TAP Business Class. The service was excellent, food was good, wine good too. Flat seats were a bit too firm. Overall, a nice experience and decent pricing.

What was missing from the amenity kit? You didn't mention the entertainment system, which is one of the best in the aviation industry. You had to wait 40 minutes for service, so what? You are aware that the crew were preparing the service during that time, right? Or do you think things appear done in the galley? Dishes have to be cooked and assembled to be served to passengers, as do the carts used in the service. Do you want to talk about Lufthansa? I've flown with them, and I can say that the service is terrible, in addition to the crew being unfriendly and having this crazy idea that everyone on the planet speaks German. You have to insist on them to start a conversation in English. Finally, the fact that you find dual seats uncomfortable, just because you have a person next to you, makes no sense to me. Your review is not entirely fair.

I was just being honest that nobody will welcome you once you board.. the first interaction was 40minutes after departure which is totally unseen in business class across the world. Usually there is a pre-departure drink and after takeoff service. Not with TAP. I just wanted to point that out in the video. In the past 4 years I have flown over 100 flights in business class and I think I can easily compare them with each other but the price point matters of course. Have a nice day:)

Just traveled business class from Lisbon to Porto a321 lr and it was a waste of money. The food was the same terrible cold sandwich they served for snack in economy during transatlantic flight. I think it was a cold turkey sandwich the turkey covered less than half the dry bread.

I think its funny you think KLM and British Airways are some sort of standard for amenity kits. That’s like the people who think Cheesecake Factory is fancy.

This guy is an arse, he pays 1000€ for a leg and compares it to the likes of BA / KLM who charge 2500€ for the same journey! TAP offer excellent value and are not a competitor for a ticket that is 2x the price.
Flew with TAP (business class)from Manchester to Cancun via Lisbon, never again. Poor service, no lounge at any airport even Lisbon as I transited the airport & the TAP lounge is land side, therefore no access unless you enter Portugal. They are cheaper than the competition, however be prepared for inferior service.
I have to say that I was quite disappointed by TAP's business class. And their inflight internet is rubbish - didn't work for most of the flight. (Definitely don't waste your money paying for it.)

TAP was fined $1,000,000 by US DOT for taking too long to refund clients and refusing to give refunds. If you find a comparable deal that fits your schedule with another airline, I'd Take Another Plane (TAP) than fly with TAP.
I have flown business class on many airlines before and have some expectations on what first/business class should provide. I was extremely disappointed in TAP's business class and here is why. My husband and I just got back from Portugal on TAP in Business Class, which will never happen again. First off, my husband has extreme visual difficulties so it is important we sit beside each other so I can assist him. When we checked in, they had changed our seats. We asked if this could be corrected and they could not change the seat back to what we originally chose. Fortunately the passenger next to me changed with him so we could be together. Just as Adam experienced, the reception was not there. The first interaction I had was to place our food order (no drinks served) about an hour after take off. We flew during the day so everyone was awake. Hot towels were delivered which I loved. Our meal was okay, but not business class quality. After they cleared our trays, we saw no one until they delivered our "light snack" about 1 1/2 before landing. So no drinks (water, wine, etc) for about 6 hours. The "light snack" was the worst meal I have ever had on a flight. On the positive side, the seat was comfortable for me but I am 5'3". My husband, on the other hand, who is 6'3" was not comfortable. And just like Adam the pillow was so think I had to fold it in half. The amenity kit was lacking as well. All in all, I will fly TAP Business Class again as I do not feel it is worth it for what you get.

I think it would be difficult fromnthe to offer a beverage service before departure since the whole plane boards from the front....

I flew in the same plane last year, and I had enough space in the throne seat, I‘m 1,80m and my shoe size is EU 45.😂
