I am no one with no expertise in music, production, psychiatry, medicine, or any other field that would relate to Ren’s music. My musical interests are in, and I’m a lifelong listener of, hard, heavy and metal music like AC/DC, Metallica, Pantera and the like. But even with my lack of knowledge in areas that would assist in identifying genius in music, I can recognize standout greatness when I see it. Ren is, in my opinion (as if it carries any weight, lol), a literal genius. There is so much thought put into creating the music we get to experience in its final form. He is clearly a deeply philosophical, intellectual and introspective thinker, and I feel like he may have come to realize that what mainstream deems as being mental disorder is sometimes an elevated mental awareness, function and ability. His song, Hi REN, is so masterfully done that one experiences it rather than simply watches the video while listening to it. And I could be wrong, but I interpreted the yodel like singing in the beginning of the song as indicative of stereotypical the coo-coo sounds associated with insanity, while the use of those sounds at the end felt indicative of recognizing and accepting that expanded intellectual depth and capacity frequently go hand in hand with psychological disorders. It felt like he was knowingly harnessing and controlling the coo-coo at the end of the song. And I don’t know the first thing about playing guitar or piano, but Ren is able to make the instruments seem like they are physical extensions of his mind rather than his fingers. I can’t even explain what I mean by that other than to say- I know that music can express emotion and enhance lyrics, but it’s as if Ren’s music is imbedded in the lyrics rather than alongside the lyrics. It’s difficult for me to express how uniquely genius I believe Ren is. I feel like Ren possesses a mastery in expression that I can only describe as a one of a kind living, moving and expanding exhibit of art that will, no doubt, be documented as an influence in what is possible in future musical expression.
Feel like you may have read my mind while writing this comment. I’primarily listen to progressive metal - pain of salvation, leprous, sleep token, etc. tool was my favorite band for a lot of years. In my teens it was Alice In Chains. None of those artists hold a candle to Ren. Dude just hits me like no one ever has. I think it’s the unique entire package of everything he is and can do. He is the artist of my life.
Both of you expressed yourselves so beautifully. Thank you so much for expressing your deep thoughts about our Ren. So weird that I even just called him that but it feels accurate. He has given himself to us in a way that makes us feel so connected, because he’s REAL. Ren is a higher-dimensional guy if there ever was one, utterly raw and stripped down to who he really is by both his suffering and his creative purpose. No masks, no fear. One of my favorite bits of lyric by him is from Heretic: "Becoming evident that we make fear president. When fear trumps love, that's when the soul becomes irrelevant." I thank the Powers that be for his entrance into our lives. My life has definitely been enhanced by his example and his works of art.
Darling Ren, no, you are not crazy. You are one of the sanest and most thoughtful person I have ever listened to. Like you, I have faced death squarely in the face ~ I had tuberculosis a few years ago ~ and I contemplate mortality and our exsistance here every day since my recovery. I am much older than you ~ 74 ~ but you have the most wonderful gift of being able to articulate so much of what I feel and think since my recovery. He's so far ahead of humanity at this point. If only the rest of the world would stop and listen. He's saying so much truth. So much of the same that i have been screaming into the void. I ask my therapist (because he's not allowed to judge me and i am stuck in my house with agoraphobia and chronic pain and a broken body, so i have like 2 friends and i don't want them to think I'm crazy) why people are always so quick to be angry and slow to kindness. It cost nothing to be kind. Nothing!! It's free! And sometimes, when you're kind, they return that kindness because you've given it first. Don't wait for the other person, smile first. Love your neighbor, share a beer or a soda or whatever with your enemy. Stretch our your hand first. If it gets knocked away, say ok and walk away and try again tomorrow. If someone is being an asshole, smile at them and tell them they are beautiful. It really makes them stop. Mostly from confusion, but then you can walk away while they are confused. Life is a miracle. This rock we live on is one in billions. I do believe in God, but i also believe in science. The astonishing complexity that is human life is just miraculous. Don't waste it. Follow the golden rule. If everyone did, we might actually achieve that impossible gift, utopia. It may be an impossible goal, but there's no harm in trying. The world is huge, we are tiny, but Ren's message is worth sharing. One person screaming into the void seems so insignificant. But we are the Renegades and we are SIGNIFICANT. It's a huge, diverse community of like minded people who can scream into the void with our very significant voice. Let's crack the void wide open with our cries. Let them hear him and maybe, just maybe... someone will hear us. But I'm betting it will be a lot of someone's. I'm a 52 year old, broken, body painful like it's full of broken glass and bones, depression and anxiety and agoraphobia... AuDHD... it's a laundry list. But I'm still yelling. I'm still being kind even when I'm terrified, even though i don't feel happy.... I'm still kind. I may be broke, but smiling is free. Don't waste it. Especially if you're young and healthy, don't take it for granted. It can all be snatched away like that 🫰 A simple fall in the snow can trigger a lifetime of pain in a second. I 100% get where he's coming from. I never understand why people push others down. Why some are so focused on being rich or important. A lot of people seem unable to have empathy for anyone who's got slightly different beliefs/make different choices in life.

Yeah I'm frustrated a lot by by hitting a brick wall with the way people so easily fall into seemingly being out of reach of getting out of a shallow mindset complex where they don't seem to be able to see the pointlessness of competition and so on. Ren, it is 5:15am pst and I'm sipping coffee and getting started to go to my work place to wash homeless peoples clothing who are living in a huge shelter tent run by our city. Talk about basic needs and log jams. Lol. But I keep it simple. I do what I need to do for these folks down on their luck( I was in similar 2015) shit happens and if not your health you get busy and rise above it and climb out. Not easy but wonderful on other side of your determination and a hand up from those with the toolkit info . Ren, I agree. Life is so ugly and warped at times. I often think why we came together on 9/11, and a few months later, we fall back into the same but of hating each other. Idk if you read these, but your path of thinking is how we should all think. I think about death daily and without a strong faith. Whatever it may be it’s kinda scary. I don’t believe in what most believe. Nature is my church. Sometimes it’s hard because there’s not a lot of people to surround myself with that have similar beliefs rather close to me. I feel alone a lot

Idk if I could love this man more, and I mean that in a human being recognizing the beauty, strength, empathy, resilience and love in another human, not in the creepy I'm in love with some famous person I've never and probably will never meet in person. I see that Ren feels too much responsibility for the fate of the world. It always depresses a person, because in the end he realizes that he can't do anything. We can only act in a small way, because we are not gods. But small actions can bring a lot of joy.😊

Perhaps, just perhaps, those who fiercely advocate for competitive capitalism at any cost might hear his words and pause to reflect. If even a few minds have been changed, then he’s made an impact. Just look at America: the wealthiest economy in the world, yet so many people live in trailer parks or on the streets. The demand for psychologists is greater than ever. @@philipduttonlescorlett I believe in the butterfly effect. I don't see Ren having a coherent worldview yet. He wants the ecosystem, but he's also making a fashion brand. He talks about overconsumption, but he wants to do creative marketing. Marketing would be the first thing that I would ban, because it inspires a lot of frustration and unnecessary consumption. It confuses some of his fans and generates heated debates.

The textile industry is one of the largest polluting industries and in terms of the end result, it makes no difference whether an artist or a banker pollutes the environment. I am just a simple fan, but in my opinion, making the world a better place is a general and therefore unlimitable goal. A smaller segment is much more concrete and accessible.

The sad truth is that most of us, myself, you, Ren, and so many others, share the same vision: a unified, peaceful world where we live in harmony with nature, benefiting from planet-friendly modern technology, without being forced to spend 90% of our lives doing work we don’t want to do. Of course it matters - whether you care about the good of everyone, human, animal and planet or you care about nothing but paying lower taxes and enjoying the hardship of others. I'm actually a Christian and don't agree with Ren on certain issues but it doesn't bother me because I can separate the two. I believe Ren is a beautiful, caring, authentic, honest soul who cares about humanity. He is rare in this divided messed up world. I actually don't side with the left or the right because at the end of the day they all report back to the same bosses/masters. Most of the politicians passions are illusions and they will do or say what they are told because of who is paying them. Causing division between the two sides is also a goal. I do and have helped my fellow man that needs a lift, because I have morals and integrity that mean everything to me. I'm also Christian so my views differ from the majority of Ren's main fan base. But I care about all people even if I don't agree with their life style or choices. I just thought you are unjustly throwing an entire large group of people under the bus when things are not black and white. I think Ren believes that as well. Not to paint an entire side with one brush.

My musical interests are in, and I’m a lifelong listener of, hard, heavy and metal music like AC/DC, Metallica, Pantera and the like. But even with my lack of knowledge in areas that would assist in identifying genius in music, I can recognize standout greatness when I see it.
Ren is, in my opinion (as if it carries any weight, lol), a literal genius. There is so much thought put into creating the music we get to experience in its final form. He is clearly a deeply philosophical, intellectual and introspective thinker, and I feel like he may have come to realize that what mainstream deems as being mental disorder is sometimes an elevated mental awareness, function and ability. His song, Hi REN, is so masterfully done that one experiences it rather than simply watches the video while listening to it. And I could be wrong, but I interpreted the yodel like singing in the beginning of the song as indicative of stereotypical the coo-coo sounds associated with insanity, while the use of those sounds at the end felt indicative of recognizing and accepting that expanded intellectual depth and capacity frequently go hand in hand with psychological disorders. It felt like he was knowingly harnessing and controlling the coo-coo at the end of the song.
And I don’t know the first thing about playing guitar or piano, but Ren is able to make the instruments seem like they are physical extensions of his mind rather than his fingers. I can’t even explain what I mean by that other than to say- I know that music can express emotion and enhance lyrics, but it’s as if Ren’s music is imbedded in the lyrics rather than alongside the lyrics.
It’s difficult for me to express how uniquely genius I believe Ren is. I feel like Ren possesses a mastery in expression that I can only describe as a one of a kind living, moving and expanding exhibit of art that will, no doubt, be documented as an influence in what is possible in future musical expression.
Feel like you may have read my mind while writing this comment. I’primarily listen to progressive metal - pain of salvation, leprous, sleep token, etc. tool was my favorite band for a lot of years. In my teens it was Alice In Chains. None of those artists hold a candle to Ren. Dude just hits me like no one ever has. I think it’s the unique entire package of everything he is and can do. He is the artist of my life.
Both of you expressed yourselves so beautifully. Thank you so much for expressing your deep thoughts about our Ren. So weird that I even just called him that but it feels accurate. He has given himself to us in a way that makes us feel so connected, because he’s REAL. He gives us exactly who he is in any given moment which breaks through my own barriers to touch the Light within me. That’s how it feels. Ren is a higher-dimensional guy if there ever was one, utterly raw and stripped down to who he really is by both his suffering and his creative purpose. No masks, no fear. One of my favorite bits of lyric by him is from Heretic: "Becoming evident that we make fear president. When fear trumps love, that's when the soul becomes irrelevant." I thank the Powers that be for his entrance into our lives. My life has definitely been enhanced by his example and his works of art.

Like you, I have faced death squarely in the face ~ I had tuberculosis a few years ago ~ and I contemplate mortality and our exsistance here every day since my recovery. I am much older than you ~ 74 ~ but you have the most wonderful gift of being able to articulate so much of what I feel and think since my recovery. He's saying so much truth. So much of the same that i have been screaming into the void. I ask my therapist (because he's not allowed to judge me and i am stuck in my house with agoraphobia and chronic pain and a broken body, so i have like 2 friends and i don't want them to think I'm crazy) why people are always so quick to be angry and slow to kindness. It cost nothing to be kind. Nothing!! It's free! And sometimes, when you're kind, they return that kindness because you've given it first. Don't wait for the other person, smile first. Love your neighbor, share a beer or a soda or whatever with your enemy. Stretch our your hand first. If it gets knocked away, say ok and walk away and try again tomorrow. If someone is being an asshole, smile at them and tell them they are beautiful. It really makes them stop. Mostly from confusion, but then you can walk away while they are confused.
Life is a miracle. This rock we live on is one in billions. I do believe in God, but i also believe in science. The astonishing complexity that is human life is just miraculous. Don't waste it.
Follow the golden rule. If everyone did, we might actually achieve that impossible gift, utopia.
It may be an impossible goal, but there's no harm in trying. The world is huge, we are tiny, but Ren's message is worth sharing. One person screaming into the void seems so insignificant. But we are the Renegades and we are SIGNIFICANT.
It's a huge, diverse community of like minded people who can scream into the void with our very significant voice.
Let's crack the void wide open with our cries. Let them hear him and maybe, just maybe... someone will hear us. But I'm betting it will be a lot of someone's.
I'm a 52 year old, broken, body painful like it's full of broken glass and bones, depression and anxiety and agoraphobia... AuDHD... it's a laundry list. But I'm still yelling. I'm still being kind even when I'm terrified, even though i don't feel happy.... I'm still kind. I may be broke, but smiling is free.
Don't waste it. Especially if you're young and healthy, don't take it for granted. It can all be snatched away like that 🫰

I do what I need to do for these folks down on their luck( I was in similar 2015) shit happens and if not your health you get busy and rise above it and climb out. Not easy but wonderful on other side of your determination and a hand up from those with the toolkit info . Ren, I agree. Life is so ugly and warped at times. Thank you so much for posting these .... days I'm not doing good and miss something this helps out a lot to stay up to date on what's going on in his realm ..... i hope Ren can see or understand no one I think is trying to give him any sympathy really ... but for a moment we try and share with him our Empathy and remind him he's not alone... sometimes we have to realize the difference between the two. Empathy isn’t about feeling sorry for you; it’s about understanding and sharing in what you’re going through, without judgment or superiority. It’s more like saying, “I hear you, I get how you feel, and I’m here with you.” I think people are genuinely trying to connect on that level. I think about death daily and without a strong faith. Whatever it may be it’s kinda scary. I don’t believe in what most believe. Nature is my church. Sometimes it’s hard because there’s not a lot of people to surround myself with that have similar beliefs rather close to me. I feel alone a lot

Idk if I could love this man more, and I mean that in a human being recognizing the beauty, strength, empathy, resilience and love in another human, not in the creepy I'm in love with some famous person I've never and probably will never meet in person. I understand the way he thinks and the reason he gets so emotional and passionate about certain things. When you have flirted with death for most of your life it's easier to want to enjoy what you can of it while you can but harder to watch others who are unaware of what they are doing just take your granted that there will be more time to enjoy life. I've been a huge Ren fan (have all his CD's and a lot of merch) since I discovered "Hi Ren" when it aired 2 yrs ago. I'm actually a Christian and don't agree with Ren on certain issues but it doesn't bother me because I can separate the two. I believe Ren is a beautiful, caring, authentic, honest soul who cares about humanity. He is rare in this divided messed up world. I actually don't side with the left or the right because at the end of the day they all report back to the same bosses/masters. Most of the politicians passions are illusions and they will do or say what they are told because of who is paying them. Causing division between the two sides is also a goal. I do and have helped my fellow man that needs a lift, because I have morals and integrity that mean everything to me. I'm also Christian so my views differ from the majority of Ren's main fan base. But I care about all people even if I don't agree with their life style or choices. I just thought you are unjustly throwing an entire large group of people under the bus when things are not black and white. I think Ren believes that as well. @@kellyt5341 Something tells me you're American. As probably the least politically sussed race in the world of course you're going to think everything isn't political. Well it is, womens safety, homelessness, the way "others" (including women and the poor - who are actually the majority) are viewed as well as treated, the rights of people not to have religion foisted upon them - it's all politics, personal or party. I think Ren knows many of his American followers are Trumpers and doesn't want to offend them ( instead of askinv why they voted for a self serving conman, rapist, misogynistic racist who will twist the truth to suit his own ends. I believe that if more people were called out for making selfish decisions we could stand a chance of healing the planet, ending war and living happily and peacefully. But then I'm not relying on making them agree with me!
