This choir is 523 years old. Let that sink in. It existed 255 years before Mozart was born. I get headache even thinking about that 🤣. Absolute amazing how they managed to survive this long. Absolute superb.

Ya know, I think I have heard of the Vienna Boys Choir. But I have never heard them before. I LOVE this song. And I will listen to anyone that sings it. And now I have heard the voices of The Vienna Boys Choir. Although this is not way I am use to hearing the song. Y'all brought real beauty to the song. Kudos!

I'm Japanese, but I like this song. The voices of the singers are beautiful and I can hear them all the time. The text may be strange because it is translated. But I just want to tell you this, I like this song very much. I also like the singer. I'm glad I met this song.

I’ve been scrolling through the comments hoping that someone will mention that very fact that this is most definitely a New Zealand sea shanty.
This is a 200 plus yearly sea shanty from New Zealand. The Weller Co. began as a retail company for Tasmanian Whallers. One young man put it up on RUclips and the rest is history.

Very nice voices I'm excited the guys could listen to me for hours
Well guess what I was a member of the Burlngoton boys choir in the 90's. We had a scheduled trip to see the Vienna Boys choir and meet them and all that. It was cancelled because of the war in the middle east and the concern for that. During that time we were considered one of the top boys choirs in the world with multiple invites to the white house and Biltmore house, although the Vienna Choir was always considered number one. We had a rigorous practice schedule but we heard the Vienna choir lived on campus completely. Either way cudos and impressive performance

Sea shanties were for everyone onboard to sing, because it was to have the crewmen bonding together, amongst other thing, and that included the ship's boys, who could be as young as 7 years old. It's terribly reductive for sea shanties to be sung by coarse-voiced old white men who have smoked and drunk too much.

I did a fair bit of singing when i was young, and i had a bit of an angelic voice, so i can truly appreciate the talent of the guys in the choir. Lovely song to start with, and this rendition is worth listening to 👍

And there also good at singing and they almost made me sleep for 1 hour
But you wouldn't believe how some are real spoilt a$$hats.....who clearly came from rich families and were tought their "importance" way too early. I once went there as an photograhers assistant. They couldn't stand still without kidding around, teasing, interrupting, not followoing our orders when their teacher didn't look, making faces so we had to reshoot again and again making what should be an 2 hour process 3 + hours. Of course some of the proud families bought 50 x70 cm pics in ancient (ugly wooden, dark frames for their huge stairwells and halls ) for 3000 € and more.....but the shooting was one od the most undisciplined messes i have been to. We had kindergarden kids behave better. They were scared , but not disturbing the work on purpose.....

I'm a Canadian Choir school member, of 50 people. I can relate, we dress in scouts uniforms, no shorts, long pants, and an armband with a bass clef on it. My role is the flute so, I have a pin of a flute. We wear kepi caps.

I had the privilege about three years ago of attending Mass at the Hofmusikkapelle inside the Imperial Palace, which was the reason for the Boys' Choir in the first place. Beautiful. Definitely worth the effort. Their contribution to the Mass was, well, "heavenly."
