I think that for Trumpism to go away, Democrats need to do a good job of treating the underlying causes, rather than punishing those who voted against them. Trumpism is a reaction to genuine problems - it certainly offers no solutions - but unless you resolve the drastic economic inequalities, lack of education and opportunities for lower-class working (and unemployed) rural Americans, Trumpism is likely to re-emerge at some later date.
