- While at PRI, we caught up with Joshua Ray to take a closer look at his R32 Skyline GT-R that was inspired by Aussie GT-Rs and uses lots of Aussie parts. The engine bay is dripping in @Platinumracingproducts too.

Best line in this video: “She’s like, whatever it’s your money”. What a keeper.
Yep, that is super nice! Cool to see a life long passion come together.
Seems like a top bloke too. Bring on GTR festival
Making every effort to have the car there! No other event matters at the moment.
I’m most impressed by Josh’s wife. Any former/current GTR owner knows the moment you dip a finger tip into the wonderland rabbit hole the build immediately spirals out of control 😅😂
She kept me pointed in the right direction. I almost bought a Corvette instead!
Great looking 32R and I do like the Group A inspired colour palette
Nice job mate, and to the people calling it "a catalogue car" can eat a 🍆! I'd be stoked to even have a GT-R, let alone
pick what I want out of the PRP, Artec, Haltech etc catalogue's. I like how you spoke numbers of the previous set ups but kept the current figures to yourself, I guess we'll have to wait until GT-R Fest USA? I wish I could say I would be there but can't wait for the videos of the event. 🇦🇺V🇺🇲
It’s been a build of passion for so long. But although others did have some influence, I’ve never built this car for anyone but me. I’ve learned that it takes loads of heart to build a car and stay true to your own likes and taste. But when done right will always have more love than hate.
Amazing story, amazing build, amazing content.
Thank you! Couldn’t have been done without the help of so many great companies and friends.
Always killer when The Herminator makes an entrance 🤙🏼.
Herman is a machine that’s for sure! I want to be like him when I grow up lol.
This is the “NxT LvL” for the R32 Chassis IMO. “Aussie Spec” is THE CLASS : billet parts like block, heads, intake plenum, all CNC/cast RB blocks etc. you can do the whole turbo/fuel system boost control ECU, AN fittings etc. all made in AUS. They like 2nd outside of Japan 🇯🇵 themselves for supporting R32 platform (best/O.G/lightest) for me. Gunmetal/BBS LM’S ❤.
Great story, great build. Seriously wouldn't look out of place in australia
That was the goal. A true “Tribute” to the baddest GD-R’s on the planet.
Cool story, thanks for the video and big respect to the owner!
Much appreciated! Blessed to be able to share it with the world.
Love the guy! His passion for Nissans is pure!
Much appreciated! I tried my hands at VW, Subaru and even rotary over the years. But Nissan has always been the way for me!
Love it the throttle body is in the one position it’s not ment to be the motor shaft should never be the lowest point
Looking forward to seeing this car at GT-R Fest. Flying from Florida for this event.
Gotta get lined up next to the Aussies and see how she goes against the baddest in the world.
Great to see so many aussie parts going to the US
PRP and Artec the WORLD!
Hell yeah Josh! BKR!!
Thanks bro! Hope to see your 33 and the rest of the Lemoore area GTR’s in Texas!
Hahaha, Herman is down to clown! Nice build!
Herman is my Spirit Animal.
Awesome to hear the story behind the builds 👍
Was a pretty long journey. Not over yet! Wanting to go dry sump and eventually sequential gearbox.
Respect 🇦🇺🤝
Much appreciated. I certainly didn’t do it alone! So many wonderful people involved in the build, I just happen to own it.
Manages to be fresh while still channeling a well trodden path - nicely done - let’s hear it in anger!
Still testing some things in prep for GT-R Festival USA. But soon, Very soon!
yoooooooooo his build is sooooooooooo sickkkkkkkkkkkk this is something i want to do when im older but make it look like the winfield one
Thank you!!! These cars are a beast to deal with lol. I say it all the time, pick the path (it often wanders) and plan out your mods in a methodical fashion. Don’t cut corners and use quality parts and quality technicians to do the things you can’t. Devin at Driver Motorsports did absolutely ALL of the welding and fab work on thjs car. I swear he can weld tooth paste lol.
@@R-Tuned-Performanceawesome, I've been looking for a toothpaste fabrication and welding expert for decade's! In Australia, all we get are pro straight 6 GTR builder's and no toothpaste welder's 😢
@@danielwitham1791 I’m telling you, Devin at Driver Motorsports is phenomenal! Truly something and someone special.
Ahh dude your ride is sick as love it will fit right in at GTR festival
Much appreciated! I’m very fortunate to have this thing in my stable lol.
@@R-Tuned-PerformanceLove your build mate (& im from Australia & own built R34 Gtr)💪. What horsepower you currently making??
@@PHATT_TV when on the Dyno last it was 500+ to the tire on a DynoJet AWD at 20psi base pressure. At the time we were testing rear housings for Garrett on the G40-1150. Goal is 1000 Aussie HP to make sure Andrew doesn’t laugh at me come GD-R Fest in USA lol.
@@R-Tuned-Performance awesome 👏 😎. I have G35-1050 on my R34 Gtr & pushes 900whp max, you’ll 100% get 1k whp with G40-1150 . My goal is the same 2.8 NITTO but want 1’000 to 1’200 whp max. I want max HP the 6 Speed Getrag can handle. With your 5 speed you will have to go sequential (which is awesome but EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE).
Hopefully those stickers are removable, looks horrendous, BUT the drivelines makes it worthwhile.
It’s a wrap to pay tribute to the 1990 Bathurst GTR livery. Appreciate the feedback on the looks, but this car is 1000% built by me to my liking. I’ve long gotten over building anything for anyone’s approval. In my opinion cars should always represent the owner’s unique perspective.
very nice!
Shes a dream ❤
Sometimes a bad dream lol. I tell people all the time, if I didn’t do majority of my own work I wouldn’t be able to keep up with this thing. But it’s been my dream car and brings so many smiles to both me and the people who love the Skyline chassis.
1998 200sx in the USA? how..? lol
The B14 Chassis (Sentra/200SX) was in the states. At that time didn’t know that a “200SX” was a much better car in Japan.
They got the crap/fake ones state side. Same badge, big difference.
I remember that car very well. Definitely rips
@@R-Tuned-Performance Oh right! I forgot they existed 😂
Can't get past the 1st minute the music is bloody terrible
Rap is crap
Agreed they all seem to have shit music lately I feel they are trying to appeal to the American audience
@@matthewlakin5396what are you muppets whinging about? Biggest bunch of handbags in any comments section to date. “I don’t like the choice of music so I’m gonna wet myself and moan till more of my kind gather together for a moan session” fkn mouth breathers
Can barely even hear the music?
Oh no. 1 minute of your life ruined.
Nissans👌
Million dollars later!!! Lols
Not a million but not cheap lol. Harder to put a price on when you do your own work and have friends help out with so much custom work. I’d say if I had to put a close price tag on parts and labor it’d be in the $80,000 usd range.
Expensive hobbie!! You must work hard for it... Enjoy mate!!
I get fast fwd happy when I hear rap crap. Then just move on to something else real fast. Mabee watched 10 seconds total 😂
Love it, great job. Legendary Aussie Godzilla tribute.
Of the Two cars this livery was the best fit. The logos on the car were ALL crucial in its completion and there is still more to come!
Bro describes what he has spent. Whilst knowing full well sequential and nexen is next.
Even if it is a catalogue build, that guy gets great catalogues!!! Nice work
This is awesome! Driver Motorsports is like an hour away from me, and I want to buy a car from them one day, if R32 GT-R prices ever come back down, lol. One of my friends bought an R32 GTS-T from them years ago. I don't think he still has it, though.
Driver Motorsports is great! Although I didn’t buy the GTR from them I purchased a 33 GTS, a Toyota Century and a Kei Truck and am more than pleased with them.
@@R-Tuned-Performance Where did you get the R32 from? Just curious. Also I thought you worked for Driver Motorsports, lol.
@@kasper_429 I bought it from Montu Motors as they were close to where I lived and I could scout the cars in person. I would have much rather bought from Driver but I didn’t know about them back then.
I did work for Driver Motorsports.
@@kasper_429 I purchased it from Montu Motors. They’ve had some good and bad reviews over the years, but at the end of the day I personally had a great experience with them overall. Mostly cause I went there “in person” and didn’t buy sight unseen. I would 1000% buy from Driver Motorsports sight unseen as they go to great lengths to get top vehicles as a baseline and do not skip on quality.
Yes I did work there for a few years but had to step away back in January.
Awesome gtr. Gtr festival will be awesome
Absolutely cannot wait!
