“It’s fruiting.” That sounds adorable and positive and really made me smile. I’m grateful to all the peeps helping the banyan. ❤️
Man, I remember seeing this tree when I spent Christmas there in 1985. You really understand that trees are living things when you're near that one. Amazing.
So we're the people they murdered.
Wahoo 🎉Give this beautiful tree lots of water and love
Water…….and LOVE TOO!!!!! SING IT A NIGHTLY LULLABY WHYDONCHA???????? In the meantime……..NO WORK IS BEING DONE!!!!!!!! NOT A TRENCH………ANYWHERE!!!!!!! CONSTRUCTION……..HAWAIIAN STYLE!!!!!!! 50 YEARS FROM NOW……YOU STILL WONT HAVE POWERLINES IN THE GROUND!!!!!!! WHO ON EARTH WOULD WANT TO MOVE THERE???????????
Beautiful tree is such a great symbol of survival and resilience
That tree is a symbol for the town. 🥰❤❤❤
You don’t know the history of Hawaii. That tree is not but a symbol of colonialism and the man who planted it was evil
@@jujitsujew23 I think they're referring to its resilience and ability to bounce back. Atleast that's how I interpreted it. But yeah it's awful how they've been treat. Hawaii should belong to the Hawains and not rich folks usurping their lands for holiday homes and doomsday bunkers or military bases that turn the drinking water flammable. (sorry if I spelled Hawains wrong not sure if it has two i's)
That tree is a national treasure. Glad to hear it.
Google who planted it and you’ll realize how wrong you are
@@jujitsujew23it says he was a sheriff who overthrew the Hawaiian monarchy. Sounds pretty American to me
@@Distress. if by American you mean evil then yes, he was. That tree is a symbol of colonialism and what America has done to destroy Hawaii
Labor of LOVE! I have been there, know that tree! Great work from the people. Hope to visit one more time. Thanks from Canada with love😊💞
Raise money by selling the seeds, I'd buy some. Might be able to grow as a bonsai, even in cold areas.
Happy to hear that
Great to see the trees recovering.
I’m so happy to hear that!
The Banyan Tree is coming back to life! The town, not so much. 😢
Mother Nature knows what she needs to do. Love it’
As a lifelong tree hugger this video gave me great joy. Thanks for all who are caring for it.
Great efforts. Life endures hardship and thrives. We need the same TLC... everywhere.
Glad to see the ‘ulu or breadfruit also thriving. In addition to being an important traditional food source, they are beautiful trees, whose intricately fingered leaves have become patterns in traditional Hawaiian crafts and art. (My youngest brother, born in Hawaii, as a baby slept under a quilt with a breadfruit pattern.)
Hope this is a symbol that the community with locals return. ❤
Great to hear that the Banyan tree is doing well, but what are they doing to bring Lahaina back?
Shhh just look at the pretty trees...
Plenty...most of the residential areas are now cleaned up and they are starting to issue permits for rebuilding. As far as the business district ...39 properties so far have been cleaned up. The residential area was given priority, obviously.
Nice the tree is coming back, now it’s time for the displaced residents to come back too and not have the corrupt government do a land grab.
Thank you. Great news.
We saw this tree in it's full glory a few months before the fire and it's heartening to see it coming back to life again despite it's damage.
No matter the adversary, nature always wins.
Nice love that tree
Nature always recovers.
I remember visiting it in 2016 when there was a thriving arts and crafts market there. It's crazy to see it like this.
Trees don’t operate like self-cleaning ovens, especially when we seek to grow them trees in cities. I salute all the folks involved in making sure this tree gets back to doing its thang: providing habitat for many creatures, producing oxygen, and shade.
Awesome- from 🇨🇦
Great! 🎉
That is so amazing respect to the king ❤️
Walking communities were becoming popular, until there was a big failure in Michigan. A lot of planning still needs to be made on the future of Lahaina. The gift of the gods, in this bitter event, is a clean slate to build anything.
no, not "anything"
Failure in Michigan? Not sure what that is referencing.
@@aliannarodriguez1581 In your case education.
@@punapeterno one like a$$holes. Like you.
Magical 😊
Ive never been to Hawaii. Sad they had that huge fire.
Amazing this so nice to hear
A pity the huge auspicious Banyan Tree in the center of Waikiki's Intl Mkt Pl did not have the same friends to save it from being cut up and disposed of to make room for.....luxury stores, boutiques, etc. Historic loss.😢
*you can cut a tree and it will still grow more as long as the root is still in the ground. a little fire like this is nothing.*
That's wonderful news. It is true that we need nature, it doesn't need us, but it is our responsibility to protect and help. 🇨🇦💜
Hopefully the state of Hawaii will invest in their forestry division to prevent this from happening again.
This is wonderful news!!!
yea you need lota shade on the DRY SIDE of the island.
A blessing ❤
Nature will find a way
What about all those unaccounted deaths? Talking about caring for a tree more than the people of the town. 😢
"Fire just made me stronger"
- Tree
Great news 👍👍
As long as the root system is protected it will survive.
Well trees have done this for centuries
4 billion years of integration and continuous improvement. Nature finds a way.
❤❤❤❤
Ignorance is bliss
And what about the people ? They need help still too
where are the missing kids?
Nice to see the grand tree come back. Shame Lahaina never will. Who owns the tree now? Oprah
The residents aren’t though..
151 years old
It's just a baby :(
It's a tree 🎄
Yeah, a historical and magnificent one.
Give it some water. 💦
And now "Lahaina Strong" is claiming it's a symbol of colonialism. It's a symbol of strength and resilience to the native Hawaiians. I pray it is saved.
What about that churches ceiling? Who’s seen that footage? Not natural 😎
Yeah at 0:04 the building in the bottom right corner isn’t touched at all. How??? Doesn’t seem “normal”…
@elenalizabeth perfectly normal .Large land Fires always skip properties like that. That was the school building. Some of that property and building's were burned.
@@thaismatsumoto The ceiling has a laser line … that’s not from natural fires. I know I start fires😎
Theyve spent more on that tree than helping their own people.
You seem pretty sure about that. But of course like most people in comment sections, you are completely wrong.
Trees can't "come back to life.
Why are they letting it fruit? Any tree that is sick or damaged or even a young tree you are trying to develop, you prune the flowers or buds from it. Lots of empty lots, millionaires and billionaires will be moving in soon, vultures that they are.
It may be alive for now but Oprah doesn’t miss twice! It’s days are numbered.
Wheres all the Kids tho
The government must have sprayed it with fire retardant. Right?
No. Wrong.
after the intentional burning of the town via dews....direct energy weapons same as used in paradise ca.....report on that
Spot on
meh, let us enjoy a little piece of happy news, would you?
Proof? Of course not. How to tell everyone you are an id!ot.☝️
Keep that tinfoil hat secured! The 5g might get in! 🤣
@@OFinn77 go get some more vaccine
Love how its not a Native Hawaiian Talking in this Video.
No reason to be like that, I’m sure Hawaii is asking for all top consultants in this type of tree to analyze and help save it and if I understand correctly this tree is not native (from India) to the islands either, but it is well loved and a symbol of strength for them.
