Great review! While I enjoy watching the "Pros" with 3D smack, you guys are real world. The whole parts availability, the local hobby shops with 75% cars, 20% planes and 2 helicopters hit home. I live in the SF /Oakland area and as big as we are , helicopters ain't that big.
I am a newbie but I have 12 helicopters and nothing bigger than the 230s Smart. Fusion 180 is my first belt driven tail. Smooth and floaty. Mine is per spec with Idle UP2 at 95% instead of 100%. It seems all my smaller Blades feel better with no EXPO. My Eachine e150 and e180 feel better with 25% ironically my e160's feel better with 10-20% expo and it seems weather related, same with the XK K130, K110 and K100.

Yeah, seems like the steep learning curve scares a lot of people off from helis, but most people already know how to drive a car (or at least they think they do).

I wonder how crash resistant this heli if fly over grass?

Battery wise - it's simply a matter of changing the connector. You can get 450-650mah batteries from places like getfpv for $15-$20 . I'm seriously considering this helicopter hence my research which is how I came across your video. I had the M2 explorer - the ESC cooked on the 3rd flight doing figure 8s. The customer service I received afterwards (or lack there of has caused me to wash my hands of the OMPs and where I bought it from (name withheld to protect the guilty).

thats pretty much what we did, we took the connector off of the heli and put an xt30 in its place and made a charge adapter so we dont have to buy spektrums smart charger and whatnot, also giving us more battery options

SO which one do you guys prefer? OMP or 180 Fusion smart?

Still don't have much time on the 180. My initial impression is that the omp helis fly better out of the box, but the 180 may have more potential due to its lighter disk loading and mechanical tail. Mostly my preference for the omps is from the feel of the flight controllers and that might change once we start playing with the pids.

We havent really formed a full opinion on the 180 quite yet, the next video we do will have our final thoughts on it for sure, we just havent been able to do much flying due to crappy winter weather but it seems its clearing up a bit this week so hopefully we can do some filming and get the next video out asap

What I can't figure out is why you purchased a Heli you already didn't like ? . This video is clearly focused on a negative review of this heli . First off you knew the heli came with proprietary connectors for use with smart tec .you still bought it and the battery ?. but yet you bash it like its Blades fault . Then procced to change the connector fully cutting off telemetry for all the great features this heli has to offer with it and forward programming combined . Then again procced to bash it simply because you wont use it or Don't understand it ? Let be clear on that next time . So much personal preference versus the truth in this video.

There was no way for us to form an opinion on the heli before we bought it because it was just released a few days prior to the filming of this video. Also we had no idea that this heli came with proprietary connectors due to lack of research before purchasing so that is 100% on us, we've never had anything with smart tech in it, also we didnt cut off the connector from the battery, we changed the connector on the heli itself and made an adapter so we could charge it and fly it without having to spend more money on a charger and have to wait a week or so to be able to use it. We werent trying to bash blade or horizon for anything, it just didn't fit our personal preferences as stated in the video. But saying that its personal preferences vs the truth really isnt fair because we didn't lie about anything in the video, and saying we didn't like it is very far from the truth, so far we absolutely love it, it flies great with no issue that we can find so far, the only thing we dont like about it is the price of parts compared to other helis of its class, seems a bit excessive but its a horizon product so that was to be expected.

also this was just our first thoughts on the heli as every day guys that like to fly, this is only part 1 to a 3 or 4 part video series on the heli. Our opinion on the heli isnt set in stone quite yet, a new video will be coming out on it soon so long as the weather here calms down enough that we can go fly it and really see what the heli can do
