I know nobody cares, but I work in a 19th century palace and I listen to this all day. It suits the atmosphere and décor :)
Luckily for you!
I care... deeply & genuinely so. Thank you for adding this little insight into your world I now enjoy to imagine alongside the music. I imagine I would love the romanticism in an otherworldly sense. I am quite certain, not to be the only one either. Enjoy your palace experiences & the dreams to be had there!
Who does that palace belong to ?
@@ziazeitgeist3773 you don’t give a shit
i care!
To anybody reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind may clarity replace confusion. may peace and calmness fill your life.
thanks for writing this. it was a lovely thing to hear on the moment I read it. I hope those blessings come back to you as soon as possible
I don't believe in any pray or blessing. But I really appreciate it, thank you :)
Thank you
💜
Enjoy the Music!
I particularly like (and trust) music written before the music industry was invented.
But, honestly, the patronage & traveling minstrel gig scene was pretty exclusive....you hadda know somebody to break into it ......
Indeed, my friend. Indeed. Back to authentic music around the fire among close friends for me these days
This is so much better than all that violent lute music that you hear nowadays.
I know right!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😆🌹
Either show us the lute being played or show us medieval stuff. Countryside and mountains don't really go with this music 🎼
😂 😂
@@aviemore907 yes, it would be a great addition 😇🎉👍
As a Barbarian, I find this peaceful Lute music helps me relax when I'm out peacefully Pillaging and Luting.
*mostly peaceful
Clever! Quite calculatedly clever!
Hahaha great comment! Now, excuse me while I go have pull of mead out my neighbor's skull 😁👍
There's something marvelous about that barbarian luting, I can't quite explain it...
@@ilbiancofiore 😜
There's TV blasting in our house all Day long. I put on earphones and all that s..t is gone! 🌈
Music such as this is a great antidote to the woes of our current time, even pieces going back 300 years. They needed this music back then as much as we need it now.
While listening to this, tears just fell for no reason. I guess I just miss the olden days when life is not as complicated as it is now. It's amazing how music from our past comforts us in the present through the happy memories it brings back. Thank you for this music.
Tears are often a sign of a release of tension.
This brings back memories of when my dad took first me to see John Dowland live when I was a kid. Simpler times back then.
You got to enjoy John Dowland live? What an honor. That must have been a wonderful experience. I too enjoy this kind of music and am glad to know there are others who do as well.
How highly fortunate you are!
Haha, You are so lucky.
You must be very old. Enjoy your retirement
except I caught the plague from that tavern wench! She turned me into a newt!
Oh what a luck! My lute player has the plague today and I had no entertainment for my dining and painting and suitor selection. Finally I can relax.
This music is a balm, a benediction, a blessing!
To think, at one time poets carried this instrument and carried the feeling of not only the sound of the instrument, but the feeling of their words (as poets) with them, to anyone who cared and was astute enough to actually listen to it. "How far we've come and, yet, so far behind we are."🙂
In reply to your last insightful line, i feel compelled to ask -
Was it not always thus? 🤔
The sonic equivalent of an unexpected sunny glade in a dark forest. Fresh air.
As the local Skyrim bard, I find this great.
was looking for another dragonborn. talos bless your heart
@@coffeeenjoyer2877 Talos guide you.
I used to be an Adventurer but then D&D went woke
psssst, I know who you are! Hail Sithis!
Also, my cat companion would carry your lute for you, but J'Zargo only has so much room to carry things!
Although Lydia is "sworn to carry my burdens"-but I Fus-Roh-Da'd her off a cliff by accident... yeah, accident...
Hey, you. Whoever reading this, this is your sign. Everything's gonna be okay. You did not come this far to give up. I believe in you..
as a big fantasy reader, I usually associate this genre with the medieval era ( as everybody does), so whenever i listen to lute music i feel like i'm in an old inn with some dwarves, witches, and Vikings drinking and spending a great time. It makes me happy! :)
Whateer floats your boat, mate!
The place in the beginning of the video is Hallstatt. I actually live 2 hours from the place. I have been there multiple times!
Much thanks
As a Saxon peasant, I found this music helpful to keep my mood while foraging during the day.
That's aIl very well, but I do hope you obtained the appropriate approvals. That is if you value your fingers and toes in equal measure.
This puts me in a good place. I've had a rough year, mentally, and this helps my brain to relax and heal. It's better than medicine
Am in the same mental situation as you and this lute music surprisingly did wonders to the mind.
Blessings.
Yeah it has been a horrible year. My sister died and my parents didn't even tell me. I found out from a coworker. Mom blocked me from finding out what she died from. She threatened my sister's Dr and the funeral home.
@@robynvanhorn
Oh that’s awful. I’m so sorry for your loss.
@Milkdreams
So sorry. Keep the faith and hope things get better for you!
The inclusion of classical pieces composed much later than during the Renaissance was truly an inspired decision, convincingly demonstrating that the lute is not an instrument limited to playing only Renaissance music.
Two works of note are especially worth mentioning:
the lute transcription of the "Passacaglia" from "The Rosary Sonatas" (composed for violin) by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Von Biber (@ 3:02:31) and,
the transcription of the well-known and very beautiful "Dance of the Blessed Spirits" (@ 2:45:15) composed by Christoph Willibald Gluck.
Sincere thanks to BGM for expading our notion of what this marvelous instrument can do in the right (and left) hands, like those of the virtuosi on this extraordinary music video.
thank you for highlighting those pieces. listened again, and again.
@@williammeyer-ul1se It is my great pleasure to do so, Mr. Meyer. If I get the opportunity to share one or more of these sparkling gems for someone else to enjoy I feel that I have donee at least one good thing that day. Happy Listening!.🎶
@@excelsior999You saved me and my entire days with this complete centering and visualization in this exquisite form of Music Magic. Kudos
Joyful & Peaceful music can be added to a life of Obedience to Christ and His teachings.
😵💫
The beautiful purity, post op massage, ethereal.
It's getting harder and harder to find music that isn't produced digitally. This is so refreshing.
Or music with a loud metronome
Do...do you think this was recorded to analog tape? That may be rare, but there is no shortage of music produced on 'actual' instruments of whatever flavor you can imagine. You're on RUclips, ffs.
@@crazyquilt I was being semi-sarcastic. Have you turned on a radio lately. Autotune, drumpads, and synth versions of classic songs make me want to throw someone out a window.
@@MikePuorro I haven't listened to the radio since, oh, the '90s. I don't expect someone to find my music for me, least of all someone paid to play.
Iam glad you wrote "to find music that isn't produced digitally". Thanks 👍
Please read Matthew 25:31~46 and obey it, our eternal destiny depends upon our obedience or disobedience to this scripture. God Bless You 🕊🙏💗
I wanna live there now majestic beauty high mountains rivers that seem to go on forever 💖
A lute sounds even better when teamed up with an acoustic guitar, a mandolin, and a banjo.
I don't know whether the music or the images are more beautiful
I can tell you the story of the Middle Ages and the trubadours (menestrelli) . They were allways on the road searching a castle . They could find food and shelter in exchange they entertained the masters and guests with their music . Maybe it's only a legend .
En plus des pièces de luth, nous bénéficions de magnifiques paysages naturels !
And the morning sun shone, skipping its shiny diamonds across the surface of the sea and into the hearts of millions who stood barefoot on the sand delivering its message of hope.
It never gets old. Merry Christmas.
This seems one of the most beautiful videos of medieval music on RUclips. The images are exceptional, as are the soundtracks. The rendition of la Folie at 2:15:16 is truly beautiful and touching.
If all the people of the world could hear music like this one there would be calm and silence filled with love...
the day was tough. choppping wood in the morning, picking carrots and bringing in the flock for shearing. twas a fine day indeed. time to close the night with a puff off my pipe ;)
Lute music has the power to transport you to the past.
We enjoy this music and for you. too.
Maravillosa música, destruida por la invasiva y horripilante publicidad de RUclips. No se puede escuchar nada a través de esta basura de plataforma.
A Heavy metal hard rock guy like me found this very reflecting indeed. Time out for me to take things slow. I'm originally a classical guitarist from the start was surprised to hear Lacrimae Pavan piece in this list. Very Awesome indeed, love it!!!.👍👍👍
Heavy metal rock chick here - am loving it too!
98% of metal guitarists love classical music and study it.

Naturalistic pantheism identifies God with the world. There is God, there is the world, but God merges into the world. The world is the only reality, God is only the abstract sum of all that exists. This is what these sonorities inspire me 🧙♂
This relieves my pregnancy symptoms. I'm having a bard

During the quarantine I was so baroque I was luting in the streets!
also, that Passacglia at 3:02 I've only ever heard on violin. This version is awesome.
But now I imagine the composer Bieber as a 12 year old with floppy hair dancing around LOL.
I still remember Edgar Allan Poe's poem that we learned in Hi-School 68 years ago...
In Heaven a spirit doth dwell
“Whose heart-strings are a lute”;
None sing so wildly well
As the angel Israfel,

68 years ago-that is awesome! My mom is going to her 63rd class reunion thus week. Blessings.

I remember that poem
Wonderful! I remember when students used to memorize poetry in school. The image of the lute exists eternally in the romance of poetry. The fact that we can listen to recordings of masters playing the instrument is truly a blessing.
Znovu opakuji nádherná skladba i při usínání
Exactly!
There is nothing more divine than lute music 💖
The lute is seemingly rather overlooked nowadays, and to hear it played with such simplicity and charm is a real treat. Great compilation of musik. Thanks!

God bless you ! My sister was born in Munich ! I am Ukrainian, living in Michigan, USA. I LOVE this music. My husband is a John Dowland fan. 💖
I have a message that I’m sharing where I can, some may not want to hear this, but I ask that we stay polite and seek truth together. 😊
Love is an action, protect the vulnerable, feed the hungry, house the homeless, father the orphan.
Read the Word for yourself, not only relying on others for guidance. Pray for guidance.Yahushua/Yeshua - His Hebrew name who is usually called (Jesus) taught to keep the whole Word. Including the Law/Torah. Matthew 5:17 “Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not [g]the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished! 19 Therefore, whoever nullifies one of the least of these commandments, and teaches [h]others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever [i]keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Read 1 John. John tells us that sin is lawlessness, and that we must keep the commandments. Trust in the atonement of Yahushua/Yeshua who is usually called Jesus, and keep God (YHWH)'s whole Word/commandments. Revelation 12:17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Revelation 14:12 Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus. Viajando en el tiempo al renacimiento y al barroco con estos bellísimos acordes de laud.... Una delicia para los sentidos💚
blessed we are being able to travel back to our heritage with music from then.
this is so awesome music
Can I repent of a sin and ask God for forgiveness, and would that mean more to God than if I painted this year's most beautiful picture or composed a symphony that people would adore?
If I could write a collection of poems that a million men would buy, would that mean more to God than if I said I loved Him?
And if nothing I ever did mattered to God, but enthralled the world, would anything I ever did then matter at all?
Everytime I hear the word "lute" I'm reminded of Tom Hanks in the movie Lady Killers. I don't know why that is but it always makes me smile 😁.
this really helps me when I'm weaving stuff at my loom and tossing acorns on peasants heads from my lofty window
Yes, I saw you
How very generous and all too kind! I prefer to defenestrate the impudent knaves from searing my eyes with their ghastly offensive existence, straight out of my lofty window instead. I simply cannot recommend it highly enough for its therapeutic effect. Just one a week and my skin is radiantly youthful from the sheer thrill of the exercise. Especially if I happen to hear the pleasant 'thonk' of hitting one of the hideous peasants below (bonus points!).
