Harley speed limits their bikes to 109 mph. There will be a work around to kill the speed limiters, eventually. But like you said, I’ll keep my bikes and just keep, fixing them. I had plenty of time to pass the slower car in front of me - the car braked while I was driving 65mph in the middle lane on I20. Good morning 🌅, or it was , I have been riding for 60+ , on motorcycles, and 55+ years cars and trucks, and in that time I’ve had some instances where if I hadn’t accelerated away from another vehicle, I would’ve been killed, if I had slam my brakes on, I would’ve skidded out of control, stupid drivers pulling out of gateways off roundabouts without the care of looking to see what is coming down the road,
If somebody is gone along on a highway doing 50 miles an hour and the speed limit is 60 , or 70, it is better to be able to accelerate quickly get past the vehicle and get back in past the vehicle that you are overtaken, if you start to accelerate and all of a sudden this engine management system comes in and restrict you from accelerating you could end up getting killed, whoever came up this shit idea putting on a bike or in a vehicle and tried to do an instant where you are got two choices are there accelerate or stop?, And I think I can guarantee nine times out of 10. It is better to accelerate out of an instant then trying to stop. A few months ago, I was in my local town., on foot, I’ve looked up and down the road to make sure there was nothing coming, I stepped out onto the main roadway. I nearly got hit by electric car., as I could not hear it coming down the road, I think now I’m going to buy a pony and cart , it is just like everything else we are being taken over by big brother, control freaks luckily I do not have many years to go in my life, but I would like to be able to live it free, to go and do what I want to do when I want to do it, stay safe right free,

I agree with them adding this to all vehicles. Yes, for the next eight to twelve years (the average time people keep vehicles in 2024) there will be vehicles that can come up on us from behind at a greater velocity, but we need to start somewhere to regulate excessive speeds. When was the last time you saw traffic really driving at the speed limit (without cops present)? My estimate is that traffic on freeways is usually 5 mph above the limit. Then you have the clowns that are weaving around everyone thinking the road is their own personal race track. I personally drive no more than 5 mph above the speed limit, so yes, I am guilty of it too. But, we need to do something, and it will take time. Just an honest assessment on my part.

for me, it's less "that" it regulates, and more about "when" it regulates.. if it only kicks in above 120 or so (on regular roads), that's more than ok.. need to stop those who run from cops and do 150+ on sport bikes and those idiots in the chargers, etc.. there's never a good reason to go that fast.. that being said, i'd rather see zero regulation.. i'm for less government and less oversight, versus more.. so ultimately, it's no vote from me, if our votes even mean anything anymore..

@@wam1388 this system is gps based so it varies the cutoff speed. You won't be able to go 40 through a school zone (not that you should) but it will not let you.....even if there is a reason to do so

governors on sports bike are new. inline 4s are designed to rev high so if the bike does not rev high every so often. too much carbon will build up and just blow the bike up. If my FZ1 was governed it would of blew up by now and would not have the reputation of lasting 100k miles on stock parts.

The scary part is, if police lose speeding ticket revenue, what will they be going after to make up the difference.😮🤔 As for keeping old vehicles running, the government wants to Outlaw the sales and availability of repair parts. 🧐 The goal, public transit. 😡
