Why Mechanical Watches? The Benrus Oribit Robot & My Regrets Leaving the Watch Hobby

- "Fun watches only!" Returning to the topic of mechanical watches after my last video where I talk about smart watches, taking a look at a fun watch like the Benrus Oribit Robot. The Benrus is simultaneously whimsical and retro while at the same time featuring excellent monitoring construction and a high quality Swiss movement. I'm very impressed with the watch, and it is an example of the type of watch one can easily enjoy even if you are not a "collector."

Such a great segment Andrew, thanks for posting and continuing to evolve the 555 platform with such thoughtful and signature content. It's channels like yours that inspire so many within this RUclips community of ours.
That is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Andrew
Andrew! Wonderful to see you in my notifications, I hope this finds you and your family well. Loved this laid back, reflective and rather profound video. I'm a sucker for a great diner too, one of my first memories when I first arrived in the country was going to a diner, just priceless.
Would it be ok to use a tiny clip of this please? Possibly for a future video? With full accreditation of course.
Thank you, stay well and I hope to see more! Hmmmm, now I'm hungry!
Best regards,
TGV
Absolutely! Feel free to use as much as you would like my old friend. Cheers, Andrew
Best line and timing of the video. “Health is important” takes a giant bite of banana cream pie lol
😁
Now I am hungry.😊
That's an awesome Denny's! All the ones near me are so plain looking
You hit the nail on the head about nostalgia and feeling of connection to another time.
Very Good video , banana cream pie , A dinner & a nice mechanical watch.
I love my caddy CT4 not practical but big fun
I really enjoyed this laid back, philosophical video. Nice work!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Same enjoy this video (can't really call it a watch review but I did enjoy this video!!)
For me automatic watches are practical. I’ve had quartz watches die on me at critical times a couple times. Interesting Benrus. I’ve got a Seiko Willard that I haven’t adjusted in a month and a half and is sitting at +1.5 seconds. Almost too good to be true. Almost as good as my Bulova lunar pilot. Thanks for video chat. Now I need to go get me a slice of pie and coffee.
I knew you weren’t going only Garmin
I want the Benrus dive watch and the field watch they issued when you were sent to The Nam.
Both cool
I’m with you on all this.Great video
