I’ve watched local council employees cutting grass on a steep bank next to a road near me. They stand at the top and use a mower machine that has no handle that is suspended on a rope. They kind of swing it from left to right as they gradually lower it down. They never let it get as long as you had to deal with.
As someone who had to mow a significantly sloped yard for a year in a rental: we go side to side until we get to the “gully” on the right side of the yard then we go up and down the gully because otherwise it wouldn’t cut right. Then weed wack/whipper snipper around the tree stump mid slope. Every yard is different and presents its own challenges :)
I’ve been maintaining my own grass for 50-+ years and I would have tackled this yard exactly like you did. Property owners that allow grass to reach this height have to keep their expectations realistic. I think you did a beautiful job. Nice going. 😊

Crazy how steep that is. I live in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and luckily don't have such steep lots here. They should put nice rock garden in there rather than grass to avoid this kind of dangerous mowing. Great job Tim!
it needs terracing, a veggie garden and some shade shrubs, a gazebo and BBQ up near the back fence to get that view would be good. Hard work well done.
