I’ve watched local council employees cutting grass on a steep bank next to a road near me. They stand at the top and use a mower machine that has no handle that is suspended on a rope. They kind of swing it from left to right as they gradually lower it down. They never let it get as long as you had to deal with.

As someone who had to mow a significantly sloped yard for a year in a rental: we go side to side until we get to the “gully” on the right side of the yard then we go up and down the gully because otherwise it wouldn’t cut right. Then weed wack/whipper snipper around the tree stump mid slope. Every yard is different and presents its own challenges :)

I did this to ensure my feet did not slip under the mower. I was using a Yazoo mower. It is the kind that had large rear wheels that looked similar to bicycle wheels. As much walk behind mower work as you do, you might want to think about it. Even on flat yards. It also happens to aerate the lawn a bit as well.

You have a kick ass mower!!! She’s a beast! That was one hell of a job Tim. So be honest, how many times did you fall up and down that hill?? Great video! Wowza, you’re a tough one!! 💙💚👍🏻🍻😳😳😳

Seeing that incline brings back a long forgotten memory of my grandfather. He used to stand at the top and tie a rope to the mower handle and let it roll down the hill then pull it back up up. As you say each to their own methods...it worked for him lol.

Probably safest mowing sideways like you do. I got a scare once, many years ago mowing downhill, I slipped and fell on my bum, and almost put my feet under the mower.

Possibly may have been easier starting at the top of the hill, and working downhill.
Did a lot of pushing uphill.

No matter how many of your videos I watch, I am always amazed at what a work horse that mower is. Most would be bogging down.

That machine is a real power house, its amazing how it doesn't stall out and just mulches the shit out of every thing thrown its way. And you pushing that monster around all day, you have to be in good shape for that. Well done! Stay safe ! Thanks for sharing.

That was a huge rough one tim, especially with a push mower, i hope you gets alot of views from this one, I know the hills don't look nearly as bad on camera as they are in person. I didn't leave a comment for the trimmer giveaway, I have 2 already, so give it to someone else.

I can't believe the transformation on this yard. You have got to have the strongest legs, arms, and core of anyone I have seen so far mowing. I think that your technique is great for this job.

Ещё бы на халяву и уксус сладкий. Правда одна, женщина не справилась бы с таким уклоном. А мужика видимо нет на хозяйстве, только для номинала.

Wow, Tim, you deserve a medal for tackling that yard! What a challenge that slope was! I can see why the homeowner hadn't been able to get it mowed; I wonder if anyone else would have been up to the challenge. Good on ya, mate!
