Besides the explicit instance of moral accommodation (divorce), I don't think we can say God gave the Jewish people a morally flawed law. He's the one that defines goodness, not us, so we shouldn't grant opponents their claims that other parts of the Law given to Moses are evil.
This reasoning doesn't work, though. Read Numbers 31. Yahweh commands genocide and sex trafficking. This isn't a compromise with a fallen people. This is a monster.

HOW MANY QURAN VERSIONS DOES IT TAKE TO PROVE THE QURAN TO BE A FALSE BOOK?
😅 I think that girl was a Muslim I think she was saying the Bible has been changed
Sorry for my mistake argument
Why do you say that? Do you feel the need to subtly attack the islamic religion for her stance?
The bible been not been necesarilly changed. But reinterpreted thousands of ways, especially from a rocky start as the history of early christianity suggest. And so much so that it could not identify with judaism anymore and branched out as its own religion yet still uses the same canon of books the jews originally used.
@edwinasencio5727 it hasn't been reinterpreted its been translated any changes are minimal translation items, of course it's going to branch away from judism the law has been fulfilled so the story continues.
@@marissajones1840 the fact that many denominations of christianity exist (more so than any other religion) based on interpretations of text like example Catholic and Protestant is proof that your claim has no bearing on historical facts. Your statement of translations is a non sequitor, they can be perfectly translated (they arent but thats not my point) and people can still interpret them in their own ways.

HOW MANY QURAN VERSIONS DOES IT TAKE TO PROVE THE QURAN TO BE A FALSE Book? Lol
@@edwinasencio5727 how someone interprets the text is not relevant to what you are claiming, the different denominations are for your irrelevant reason difference in interpretation of the text but if you look at the bibles they're reading you'll see they're all the same bibles outside of the catholic which is the same but also includes the apocrypha. Historically there have been rewrites and they're marked as forgeries such as the slavers bible, the Thomas Jefferson bible, and in recent days the chinese bible but those are distinguished as different and false, the different translations actually help paint a much clearer picture if you're genuine when reading and not trying to poke holes.
✝️👑🙏🏻❤️ JESUS CHRIST IS COMING SOON. REPENT AND BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL. JESUS CHRIST LOVES YOU WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE.
I agree that Christianity has been responsible for a lot of moral progress, and I love the book, "Dominion." But arguing that parts of the Bible represent "a compromise with a fallen people" is some VERY thin ice to be skating on, my friend.
God doesn’t give us challenges that we can’t handle.
Asking humanity to abolish slavery overnight was something we couldn’t do just like that. We are fallen beings after all.
It’s not thin ice, it’s reality. When you compare the OT law with surrounding empires, it’s actually much fairer and moral. I recommend “Is God a Moral Monster” by Paul Copan
I agree, especially given how much Jesus talked up the Torah
Matthew 19:8 He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.
I dont think it's a stretch to say that since the Law of Moses comprised on divorce "because of your hardness of heart", that the Law of Moses was compromising in other areas as well.
he didn't talk up the Torah he explained what it "actually" signified @@dominicguye8058
Morality is not sounding as objective as I thought it would be.
Still objective bud... its harder to up hold when people arent equal to begin with
@@reyis_here945 Do you know what we call it when we recognize that morality changes across time and culture? Moral relativism. Welcome to postmodernism. :)

Jesus didn't die for Muslims neither Jews,we don't need human sacrifice to save our sins, that is paganism
But in the Old Testament we see animal sacrifice used to represent the coming messiah? The ram caught in the bush is an example. We needed someone to live the perfect life that we cannot live. Therefore Christ had to die for our sins.
Just because you reject the sacrifice of Jesus doesn't undo what has been done, you are not the first nor the last to reject the sacrifice of Jesus the Pharisees, Romans (of that time) and the Sadducees did that while he died in front of them
Jesus died for everyone, even if you try to cut yourself off from The Lord
Maybe but what about god
And kissing a stone is not paganism I guess
Grow up and get over this fiction !
Stop making excuses for a flawed text written by men.
TIL that reasoning is an excuse :P
Clearly it’s why none of us that believe the Bible, are out here acting barbaric.
