I've always loved how Lewis talks like he knows what he's doing but at the end of the day he's just as clueless as Simon. The Yogscast will always have a special place in my heart.

Being a medical student who has just been in a really complex plastic surgery operation with micro-vascular surgery, this really put a smile on my face :D

Those bowls with tools are prep dishes - and they have tools to prep an area for surgery. Like a vaginal area prep kit - has swabs and chlorhexidine gluconate, etc. It is usually a skin prep. And usually those bowls come with all prep kits which holds the tools.
The bowls are in that shape so the bend in the bowl can fit around someone's neck when they spit or throw up so there is no spillage
To answer that important question - kidney dish is shaped like that, so it can be pressed against patient's body to catch fluid and debris.
if I ever have to get surgery I want Simon and Lewis to do it
well, concernng your question of the shape of the bowl and its uses, it is used in doctors offices for patients to vomit into when feeling queezy. and the shape is so that they're easy to stack.

4:09 yes they always go through the front unless there doing back surgery with in this case your not because the doctors never want to drill through the back and go through the spine because then that would get ugly and they would have to remount the spine back into one piece witch means that you would be in surgery for another 2 hole hours

The funny thing is even though kidneys are in the back I wonder how realistic this game is because kidney transplants put the kidney in the front so it is easier to access for things such as biopsies.
Better yet, you can draw sad faces on the old kidneys, and happy faces on the new ones!

Every time I've seen those odd shaped bowls it's used to throw up in. Or if you feel ill and they think you might throw up, they give you one. And it's the dumbest thing bc literally it always goes everywhere but in the stupid bowl.

Poor Bob. He was my coworker. I talked to him about a week before his operation. I felt misserable when I heard what happened. I couldnt believe dr. Honeydew came to work drunk like that. Such a respectable man, but that day, they say he barely could hold the tools.

Nobody in the UK says em-el for millilitre. "mil" is short for mili-anything, which is just a thousandth measurement. For example, builders will say mil for metric lengths (milimetres) so 1.2 metres is usually pronounced as something like "twelve hundred mil".
The only place I've heard people use the letters is in Singapore where people have said kay-gee for kilograms to me, but we would just say kilo.
My mum has had a kidney transplant, im pleased it wasnt done by the yogscast team. :)
