I remember my dad catching a 3 ft long spoonbill while throwing his net for shad. It was at horseshoe lake in Southern Illinois back in 88-89. Thanks to my father, uncle, and 2 grandfather's, I was blessed to experience a life of fishing and hunting. Love to see the little ones evolved...great video
Hello!! We’re saying hey from central Florida. I have a 5hr old daughter and 10yr old son. We love y’all’s videos. We caught some whiting surf fishing in Ormond last weekend. My son did a catch, clean and cook. 😀😀 Thank y’all so much for all your wonderful videos and giving the kids of this era something wholesome to watch. We appreciate y’all ❤️
I thought I was the only one who got along with my kids mom..... I'm glad you guys can share the kids to... way to put feeling aside for both of you much respect
Gabe, you and your brother are a couple of good ol boys, we literally need more, ALOT more people on this earth like you fellas..great content my guy, very informative and very fun to watch, take care and god bless
Anyone who has never tried to throw a cast net cannot appreciate the “”O’s” you were throwing in this video. And Jake is doing pretty good for his age too! Back in The Day, the early ‘50’s, I had a 8 foot cotton net but never used it enough to get past “banana’s”. When I did try and use it my target species were mullet. I used the lead in my mouth method but without your and Robert’s “pirouette”. And, I hand cast all the weights on the lead line too, one at a time. 😊
Great video of throwing a castnet by Jake and yourself, also showing the responsibility of the boys and Kelly being with everyone to share time, and helping Luke as she does so willing
LOV JAKE , HE'S SUCH A LIL TEACHER LIKE U GABE AN LUKE IS THE SWEETEST . YOUR KIDS ARE GROWING UP RIGHT , LIKE KIDS SHOULD BE. TO ALL WHO HELPING RAISING THEM , GOOD JOB !! MUCH LOV
When I was in middle school, we grew tilapia in school. At the end of the year we ate them. Also we went to a tilapia farm to learn how to raise them. It was fun. I love tilapia. Too bad they don't do that now days. They even cut home Ec and shop class from schools. So sad :(
Love all your videos. Loved seeing my Nana’s barn and property in the background. I always get a bit homesick watching. Y’all are the best . Thanks Gabe and Kelly🥰
Also love Luke's attitude: "i probably still caught something". THAT'S what it's really all about at that age...the rest will come with time. Good job.
Hey Gabe I'm not a fisherman but I went to the fish market, bought the kind of fish and lobster you catch. I cooked the way you cook your seafood; it was amazing. Keep fishing and filming
Here in north Texas, we stock tilipia in summer to have babies for the bass to eat. When the water temperature drops below 45 degrees, the tilipia die. So they get really lethargic in the fall when the bass are putting on weight for winter. You have to stock them every year, but they suppport the bass growth.
love you guys - this with your kids and kelly teaching them about different species and the importance of lakes and how different fish aren't good. - i think kelly wanted to bring the cow home though :)
All about keeping the kids outdoors, through covid my nephew has stayed with me every day on the farm. Now he will go in the pins with my 1600 to 2000 pound bulls and we go fishing at some point every day in one of the farm ponds
Every RUclips content creator who picks up a castnet should watch this video, before they throw it on video, STATE LAW! I don't know how many fishing videos I've watched where the content creator throw banana cast after banana cast, I'd say it's about 70/30 spit can'ts to cans. Good vid Gabe.
We are having problems in the Vancouver Canada area Fraser river watershed with invasive species this water shed system is one of the major systems for Salmon in North America, the sloughs and creeks and lakes are getting full of Bass and Black Crappies
Great job throwing the O. I used to go cast netting to catch gizzard shad and mullet to go nighttime bass, catfish, hybrid bass and striper fishing. Sometimes 500 fish in one cast. Biggest gizzard shad I ever caught was over 4 pounds. What memories!
Hey Gabe 👋 thanks for the family video ! And the video artist 🎨 Kelly. U 2 teaming up do great things and videos, plus less overhead that ya'll get to keep ! Especially when traveling great team work 💪👷👷♀️👍
I have heard about the "curious cat" Now I've Seen the "Curious COW"! Lol. 🐄🐟🐟🐟🐡 I miss hearing Jake say we're gettin' outa shape! When you vlogged Jake saying that a couple years ago it just melted my heart and always put a smile on my face!😇🤗🙏🏻👍😎
Excellent. It’s all about the kids. Same thing with me 35 years ago. My kid, but the sharing and support, and again,, the kids!! And don’t spoil em. Outdoor stuff, jut spending the time, time time time, whatever works but get away from using the tv and phone for babysitting. Mom and Dad time teaching by example. I actually Learned to throw a castnet from my Dad ie bout 1967-69. Was already walking jetties catching sheepshead with fiddlers with Dad. I miss him, but the lessons are with me forever
Every time I watch a cast net video of yours it makes me think of my ex and watching her throw perfect throws with an 8ft net every time with it being her first time Glad to see Kelly knows the difference between a GMC and a Chevy.
Jake is going to be a Superman with the cast net in the not too distant future. He just needs to practice and grow. For a child his age and size he is doing great but let’s not overlook his patient and loving teacher. Great video Gabe and Kelly. Oh yes, let’s not overlook young Luke, he may surpass everyone. 😎
Found out my little brother Paul Gray knows Albrey. Paul is over in Lorida, and Lake O was one of his 'projects', as well as Archbold Audubon Sanctuary.
Hiya BlueGabe, Beautiful Kelly, BlueJake, BlueLuke🖐. Much respect for Awesome CoParenting 👍👍. Thanks for sharing another awesome video BlueGabe. That sure is a nice piece of property. Your boys are growing up so fast. Love y'all beautiful people. Stay safe. God Bless y'all and Redneck 🙏✌❤😊
the question that no one asks , how did the Tilapia get in the lake to be an invasive species any way ?? love watching the kids picking up the fish while they flop around !!!! great video..
One way it can happen: Birds eat fish eggs from another body of water. some of them pass through their system undigested and end up in the pond when the bird flies by and poops or lands in the pond and poops. Another way it can happen..bird such as eagle or osprey picks up tilapia from other body of water, flies over pond, accidently drops it. Another way: flood temporarily connects more than one body of warer
I'm glad you're kinda introducing your boys mom and home ! You may be apart but still family! Me and my ex wife have been divorced over 7 years and we're still best friends!
When ya can't see the white Kelley, thats when you had it muddin. Heck ya get'em that muddy on the streets. Not to take away from your channel Gabe and this video, I love both ya alls channel!! Keep'em comin!!
Another one. Great job guys. That young man throws a net better than me lol. And you're spot on about teaching the youngins to throw a net. It'll come in handy over and over as an outdoorsman.
I know I am late for this time around, but next time; there are plenty of reptile keepers in Florida that would use those smaller tilapia that people wouldn't be able to eat. :) Kamp Kenan, Chandler's Wildlife, Tom Crutchfield, etc.
I actually relearned how to throw a net your way by watching you and deermeat's videos. I hope y'all are getting some use out of that webbed shrimp net 🙌
Love the mutual respect in the relationship with the kiddos mom. It’s all about the littles!!
Get your kids addicted to fishing and they'll never have money for drugs!!!

So true, definitely have to put in the practice. I got pretty decent when I was growing up my dad got us one on one of our many trips to the gulf.

they don't want kids to actually know how to survive anymore sadly

Gabe, as usual it’s great to see you, Kelly and the kids. Keep up the good work. Stay safe and bless all of you.

How awesome are these videos? So wonderful seeing the positive energy and family focus. BG, Kelly and these boys are just heartwarming. 🙏🏻

Thanks luke showing me a new way to measure a fish lol
The guy around the 8:00 mark like I don't want no damn Tilapia had me rotfl!! haha
I almost choked on my smoothie laughing at that! I guess wherever there's a lot of tilapia people are just tired of eating them.
@@GuyWRWaynes not me, they’re so easy to catch & filet. I love em all sizes.

1.) Gosh, what is that?
2.) *OH MY GOD, WHAT IS THAT?????*
The boys have a great life!!!

That new boat looks like a winner can’t wait till we see a video on it and you guys using it 😁👊🏽🤙🏽🌺
Have gotten a few 300 lb+ shots of the Talapia at the mines here in Central FL. The fish houses here pay decent money for them nasty things
THANKS BLUEGABE FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO AND FOR FEEDING A FAMILY IN NEED.
Could just put some 8 pound bass in that pond and they’ll mow down those tilapia. Tilapia eat vegetation.
Wish there were more people making videos of removing invasive fish.

It's awesome that your son wants to eliminate the invasives from the pond. It doesn't seem like there are many bass or you would have caught a few.

Unfortunately the tilapia are more aggresive and eventually displace the native fish. But they are equally as good to eat as the bass and bream
The cow at 3:24 is 100% the main character
