This was by no means a perfect movie, but one thing I really enjoyed was that they really embraced the majesty of such a timeless character. Every time He did something Tarzan-esque at the start, there's no music and little background noise, giving the reverence such a hero deserves.

Marvel Disneyfan eh, it wasn't really a "bad" movie though. It was just Tarzan and honestly people aren't into this type of shit anymore.

I feel like people were also a little too hooked on it being a remake of the Disney movie and forgot that there was an original Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs. I love his stories; if anything, I find Tarzan to be a unique superhero. He almost seems to be portrayed as one in the books.

Despite the shortness of the scene, it does a good job establishing the Tarzan/Jane relationship. He knows his wife well enough to know her favorites, and she's not afraid of making opportunities to show off her husband's talents.

I love how they made his hand
It makes a lot of sense on the bone structure: on all fours for more than a decade would cause the bones to thicken as big as the bones on your feet.

That's where I'm at. I would push up on my fingers and looking at anyone else's hands just makes me wonder why my hands look thicker then anyone else's. My hands from the outer side from the palm are curved while anyone else's hands look straight. And it's due that I pushed pressure on my fingers which does change the structure of the bone.

this is definatley one of the better depictions of the character..I'm glad they left in this bit early on to show him as perfectly capable of living in either world...but still having his prefrences. And they pulled off the "animal empathy" bit without making it seem TOO over the top to the point of farce. I also particularly love that not all of the gorillas were precicely his FRIENDS...and the african tribesmen with a grudge were just as capable of manipulating the westerners as they were of being manipulated themselves.

He hadn’t pursued her because he believed she was happier with his cousin until Clayton’s death (which was *not* a result of any evil-doings, exactly. He very much cared for Jane and meant well). I recommend reading the books (I need to again, it’s been a while)

      1. This movie is about their return to Africa. They've already met, married, and are going back there. But yes, this movie changed the background of Jane's father to a missionary residing in Africa teaching English to the natives, not as getting stranded there, and Jane is described as having mostly grown up in Africa. In the books, she is raised in Baltimore.
      2. No. Jane is American in the books.
      3. No, he's definitely raised by apes. He returns to England as a young man, having learned English and gained a solid English education in an incredibly short period of time (Don't ask - it's one of the books' major plot holes)

Honestly I think this is one of the more accurate adaptations. It's just set well after the origin story.

+Wolfpack8706 - I am not gay. The only person I would like to get to know and maybe make love too, would be Gerard Butler. If I never made love with a guy before, why would I look at guys or girls now to make love too. I go by personality and in the end, I work out they are either jerks or not my type to just sleep with. Plus you have a poor attitude and bad vibe about you now. So end of convo. All the best.

There is reason for the Chinese build up, China doesn't think anyone can win a conventional war. They don't think that a nuclear war can be won either. China possess the first or second greatest number of supercomputers in the world. They have run thousands war scenarios, I suspect they can't find a scenario that would allow for military solution to the Taiwan dilemma. Nor war situations that are outside of the Taiwan questions such a strategic miscalculations that lead to war. Those equally end, with wargame simulations, to the end of China and the World. I am not privy to anything to back my statements other history they and we aware of, as the what modern weapons both conventional non-conventional can do. China's only hope is deterrents both conventional and nonconventional; they hope will convince the CRAZY AMERICANS AND IT'S ALLIES TO BACK OFF.

Total BULLSHIT! Tarzan saw Jane for the first time at his cabin on the beach as he hid in the jungle. He first met her saving her from Terkoz the Great Ape, taking her to the Dum Dum. This movie is nothing like the book! The orignial story is MUCH better!

This video is misleading. Of course this isn't the first time Tarzan meets Jane. It's just their first appearance in the movie. They're already married for heaven's sake, and have been living in England for nearly a decade at that point. The movie is one of the better Tarzan movies in my opinion for book accuracy, they just set it farther along in the timeline.

@fennelwink actually, i think the original Johnny Weismeuller movie was more accurate. Given todays technology, i just wish they would make this staying true to the book. Alan Ritchson would make a great Tarzan, but they do need to concentrate on his early years, so people get an understanding of the animal Tarzan.
