Indian vaccine manufacturing companies do a lot of business internationally. Bharat Biotech supplies vaccines to 123 countries and if they think like us then Bharat Biotech goes out of business. The important point here is which vaccine better for our consumption and not where it made because safety is more important than (pseudo)nationalism. Since India is not in a desperate situation like the West (for example, the UK and USA), we probably can wait until Bharat Biotech completes clinical 3 trails for Covaxin and found out to be better than Covsheild (Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine manufactured by Serum Institute).

My parents have taken Covishield and I can personally attest to the claim that my parents had to take a paracetamol to suppress high fever. In contrast, I have taken Covaxin and at the most I had mild fever. In fact, by the 3rd day I was normal and fresh.
I agree, especially the current scenario where vaccines are not even available. The side effects r common in all vaccines whether covishield, covaxin or any other. I myself have taken covishield for free as now its the only available vaccine. Ima and doctors have already validated that the vaccines are safe.

How Bharat Biotech vaccine gets approval before completing the phase 3 clinical trials? Since Bharat Biotech using more number (25K) subjects in the phase 3 trials, if the results are promising then it would be better than Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine for Indians since they used only 1600 Indians in Phase 2/3 clinical trials. Until phase 3 clinical trials complete, Bharat Biotech should resist making tall claims. Since India is not in a desperate situation to vaccinate the whole population, we could wait until Bharat Biotech completes phase 3 trials. Any way India needs a lot of doses, so why can't it use both types of vaccines. I suspect the Bharat Biotech vaccine is going to be expensive than Oxford/AstraZeneca one and therefore it is trying to get approval in hurry to avoid competition.

oxford vaccine underwent scrutiny throughout Europe. Covaxin was approved without third trial and is only used in India and small number of countries India supplied for free. Brazil which put order for covaxin has raised serious quality issues in manufacturing process and put order on hold (they say process is not as per standard to ensure live virus wiuld be inactivated fully)
point to note, 4g paracetamol is very high dosage, normally we use 500 mg for fever. 4g is 8 times the medicine used normally. Even if the person is screwed up by covishield it will not be reflected - making money by developers.

I travelled 20 km more just to get covaxin from another centre. Who will risk own life in blood clotting from astra zenca.

How Bharat Biotech vaccine gets approval before completing the phase 3 clinical trials? Since Bharat Biotech using more number (25K) subjects in the phase 3 trials, if the results are promising then it would be better than Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine for Indians since they used only 1600 Indians in Phase 2/3 clinical trials. Until phase 3 clinical trials complete, Bharat Biotech should resist making tall claims. Since India is not in a desperate situation to vaccinate the whole population, we could wait until Bharat Biotech completes phase 3 trials. Any way India needs a lot of doses, so why can't it use both types of vaccines. I suspect the Bharat Biotech vaccine is going to be expensive than Oxford/AstraZeneca one and therefore it is trying to get approval in hurry to avoid competition.

i trust covaxin more than covishield...
oxford vaccine underwent scrutiny throughout Europe. Covaxin was approved without third trial and is only used in India and small number of countries India supplied for free. Brazil which put order for covaxin has raised serious quality issues in manufacturing process and put order on hold (they say process is not as per standard to ensure live virus wiuld be inactivated fully)
Don't be silly and spread rumour. Covaxin is very safe. They r playing politics. covaxin and covishield are safe for temporary relief.

point to note, 4g paracetamol is very high dosage, normally we use 500 mg for fever. 4g is 8 times the medicine used normally. Even if the person is screwed up by covishield it will not be reflected - making money by developers.

Bharat Biotech is local company First support it & encourage the locally developed vaccines & in whichever field it may be but do not discourage the Indian scientists or whoever & whichever field it may be.. bcoz we cannot learn & long last if we always depends on foreign products.. Bharath Biotech purely Product based R&D company whereas Serum institute is 3rd party or service based company both has respect but Product based companies always has higher respect, responsibility than service based companies..

Covishield has many overseas volenteers unlike covaxin. See, that's a big point. We know...the biochemistry of a person in uk to a person in Africa to one in india, differs. Hence, we should consider those results which have most indian participants. Either way, we must wait for the completion of phase 3 of covaxin...if it goes good, then obv we must choose covaxin due to my aforementioned point
