You came to my school today and i suffer from depression and social anxiety. I was close to crying during the assembly and what you said about speaking out about it made me think that maybe its time I talk to someone instead of bottling everything up.

    Hi Jonny,
Thank you for posting this, I'm glad you're feeling better than in your last video. I've watched all of your videos and I wish you could see yourself as others see you. I think you're inspirational. Still supporting you, always. Elizabeth xx

I have only just discovered your channel here. I can say in the few videos I have watched you have been able to sum up exactly how I have felt about my depression over the past 7/8 years! Thank you for putting this out here for others to look at. I am now able to use your videos to help explain to my friends and family just how it is to be like this!
Someone very close to me is doing a project for mental health over the coming year, in both raising awareness and money for both national and local charities. It is the people like her and yourself who I inspire to be like. To be open an honest with not only others but with yourself. It's something I have not been able to do very well...
Look after yourself and thank you!

Hi Jonny. You are very brave and generous to share your journey and your struggles with mental illness. I just want to say that as a person who suffers from major depressive disorder (having had my first major episode at just 13), I really relate to the raw passion inside of you about how important education about mental illness is, especially amongst the young. I am a naturopath and training to be a psychotherapist, and I am my own first patient because I fully believe it is possible to heal my illness without the need for damaging antidepressants (which always make me really ill), but rather in a holistic and meaningful way that is integral to my being and to my own unique path in this life.
I wanted to say that there is absolutely a 100% link between inflammation in the gut (i.e. your diagnosis of ulcerative colitis) and inflammation in the brain; leading to horrendous and uncontrollable psychiatric symptoms, such as anxiety and depression. I really hope it can reassure you to know that through a new paradigm called functional medicine (coming out of the States, through people such as Dr Kelly Brogan), information about this gut-brain connection is now being fully researched and successfully used to treat severe mental illness, through natural and complementary measures such as diet, lifestyle and supplementation, etc.
I myself have also experienced major gut-brain issues that I have been working with naturally for years, to resolve my chronic physical and mental illness; it is a slow journey but at least I have hope that it is always moving in the direction of healing; and my hugely rich and meaningful spiritual journey in this lifetime is very intricately connected with this body-mind healing also, which gives me strength in times of real darkness and struggle (and ultimately the destructive self-doubt that is my frequent companion!).
I wanted to say how much I admire the fact that, in spite of your severe illness, you are so highly functional and able to go out into the world to help others (even though you seem to suffer internally by exposing yourself to the world). I am not currently able to work with people, but dream that one day soon I will be well enough to be able to, as I feel I have a very personal and important message to share with others who are suffering from the ravages of depression (if only because I have dedicated much of my life to trying to manage and heal my own, and I hope that doesn't come across as arrogant!). I would so love to be able to do public speaking like you do, to help spread the word that all is not lost and hopeless, and that there will come a time that depression is treated holistically and lovingly, and not as some vile taboo, as so often feels the case right now.
I hope this message resonates with you and thank you for reading, and for your tireless and inspiring work. There is so much more I could say regarding the experience of hopelessness that comes from social isolation, and how much I still struggle with feelings of loneliness and utter lack of self worth, and how much I am trying to understand the significance of these debilitating feelings in the course and development of severe mental illness. Please don't feel any pressure, but if you would like to connect one day I should really welcome that; I also live in the London area.
Respect and warm regards on your journey,
    Alice 🌈

JONNY -- Unpredictable, yes. Unmanageable, no. That's what we come to Earth to learn -- how to manage the transformation of energies inside us, which then improves both us and the Universe. I've had a bumpy bipolar year. But then suddenly, after patiently absorbing, owning and waiting, the pleasant creative juices have started to flow again -- like they are now. Can't give up. And self-acceptance and self-love are absolutely ESSENTIAL to making transformation happen. It's like alchemy -- with self-love being the key transformation ingredient that alchemists have been seeking for thousands of years. -- LOVE, Donald in Cardiff

Thank God you have posted again Jonny, got a little concerned. Maybe a Buddhist retreat could be helpful. I did a course on World faiths a few years ago, we were taken to a Buddhist temple. I felt such utter peace. Being around people so well practiced in Mind fullness was amazing. Buddhist monks are experts. Might be worth looking into.

Hi Jonny, I'm glad you're ok although sorry to hear about the colitis. I know it's tough for you and while I also sometimes have unpredictable highs and lows, I realise it's nothing to what you go through. I want to go back to your comment about not being worthy and need to point out how many people genuinely and deeply care about your wellbeing which proves you are more than worthy! I have been meaning to email you to share some constructive thoughts but I realise that you have been inundated. I will email you later in the hope that I can point out how important and inspirational you and your work are. I love the way later in this video you seemed to be back to a happier place sharing some fascinating thoughts. Stay strong you lovely person. :)

Hi Johny, I want you to invite you to Georgia (my home country)... just to spend a couple of days. I will be your host... I try to live my life as a real human being... I don't conceal myself from others... I want you to just come and not care about who you are (you are a beautiful person)... I want you to spend good time and not overthink... Just think about it... just set yourself free

Jonny man, I know your struggle, I have crohn's and went through the incredible emotional trauma you're going through, strong mood swings which often resulted in very strong suicidal urges. If I had access to a gun I'd be dead. I've figured out the emotional part, which was way worse than any physical symptoms. I would love to share what worked for me. If you're interested at all please get in contact. I wish you the best, my friend.
    xoxo
