***** PSA FROM HARROWS ***** Got a call from Harrows today, seems like there is a reason the carbon tops wont remove or are too stiff to spin. There was a hiccup in production which resulted in a batch of the carbon tops being a fraction too big. They are not sure how many went to shops but going forward the stems should be as they were intended to be. So that being the case they are going to send me some of the proper ones and I will do an update video to see if they are indeed any better. I will do a short video about this soon.
@Darts Review Channel i got an email back from harrows when i originally told them about my tops breaking off. they said they would send me replacements and asked me what i want. i gave them my preferences, but didn't hear back after that. emailed them again last week, still no response. haven't gotten anything. this is disappointing to say the least.
@@das_bouk yeah that is not so good, have you tried messaging them on Twitter and Facebook?
@@DartsReviewChannel i'll give twitter a try and also email the general sales again instead of just the rep that replied originally. Next step is a flaming bag of dog poop.
@@DartsReviewChannel thanks for the suggestion, I was able to confirm they placed an order with a distributor here in the US and I should have replacements (different kind of shafts) within a few days. I was worried they would ship from the UK and I'd have to wait 3 weeks. Glad they made it right.
@@das_bouk Thats good!
Nice review Darren, this is why I watch your reviews. With all the new products I like your honest opinion.
Thanks Richard 😊
Tha k you for your honest opinion and not doctoring the footage. You’re the best!
Thanks! :)
Very good and honest review. I agree that it took you a lot a patience to pickup the flight also!. Love the sound effect you provided mate :). Happy Holidays :)
Thanks mate! That is not sound effects, thats the real sound but in slow motion :) All the best! :)
I really like Harrow's products overall, but honestly I think just having normal (non-Whitlock grip type) points on your darts will allow as much rotation as these shafts will. Absolutely love your reviews! Just grab an old toothbrush and some windex and clean those Predators!!
Thanks Scott! I know they need cleaning lol Harrows have said there was a bad batch of the carbon tops made that were too big, so I will be doing an update when I get some of the ones that are as they were meant to be :)
Darren, they do work, I used the old rev grip. They help if you group close. It moves the flight out of the way if you throw hard.. if your a lobber, forget it. There not meant to spin freely... That would be annoying. They just take getting used to.
I mentioned the Rev Grips in the video but the ones I had did not work as I showed in the video and as Harrows agreed when they phoned me to let me know they were faulty, read the pinned comment. They were meant to send some new improved ones but never did and I was not about to buy more to find they still had the same problem. But as another guy has just commented it sounds like they still have problems so doubt I will be getting any more :)
Was looking forward to these….not so much now tho. Good work Daz saved me a few quid 👍🏻🎯🎯🎯
Cheers 👍😊
I have recently got one set of these medium clear stems just to check if they are any better than my favourite target pro grip spin stems. My conclusions are the same as yours: these don't spin neither on impact nor on any other occasion)))) As for the rest, they are nice looking, and replaceable top seems to be a good idea. Well, Harrows seem to be 66.6% right - no rattle and no free rotation )))) lol
Yeah replaceable tops is a good idea if you can get the things off 🙂
I normally like Harrows products, but... non-spinning spinners, what a revolution 😅
Revolution lol it's not revolving 🤪
Just got my repointing tool shipped from the UK all the way to BCcanada Vancouver Island lol put some gold points on my darts so stoked.. love all things darts. Great channel
Nice one Ty! :)
I was about to order some of those stems but dartshopper doesnt have the replacement tops for the stems so i didnt get any
well if you have the same trouble removing the tops as me then not sure its worth the effort! :)
I’ve had those stems for a couple of weeks and no problems so far I quite like them only thing I would say is their a little too expensive though.
Thanks for the feedback do you notice if the turn on contact?
Great video, another review showed they fit perfectly in l style flights might fix that issue with the pop outs. I've always wondered... what do you do with all that gear you get that you don't like?
Thanks! I will be doing an update on these stems as it seems a bad batch of the tops went to shops which was why I could not remove them and why they were so stiff. Most of the gear is in the cupboard behind me :)
They look nice but they don't spin so what is the point. Good review of the stems
Yeah not sure they work as described at all really 😊
I have these new harrow 360 stems, they are brilliant, they are 2mm longer than other stems which is fantastic, flights sit lovely when hole punched. The spin on them are a little tight but that’s not the reason I purchased them. Longer & lovely fit when flight hole punched. 🎯
Thats good to hear, not many seem to be fans of them so far but as I say its all about finding what suits you and if they are good for you then thats all that counts in the end :)
I've always liked the idea of being able to use a smaller flight by defying the laws of physics via surface material, my drawer full of dimple flights is a testament to this, however, I'm not quite sold on the results. Either way, Harrows hit the eye candy right on the bullseye, and that's good enough for me. I plan on grabbing quite a few of these. Thank you for the review!
Wait until February, I think that is when they are going to have the issues fully tested and sorted :)
It's been let down by manufacturer error in size of the tips
Almost bought these on my last order but removed from cart at last minute as I couldn't justify extra $$$ for something untested . I prefer the Harrows Dimplex flights . If it ain't broke ....don't fix it lol. Awesome review Darren 👍👍🍀🍀🍫🍫
Thanks mate it seems a few have already mentioned they had some break
@@DartsReviewChannel I bought the Harrows gyro stems , same as what was supplied with the Bombers. Also got a few set of the assorted Retina shafts and flights to try . They look to be acrylic but should be decent for how cheap I got them. Have you ever tried either ?
@@9_nein_9 yeah I have tried the Retina, they are fine 👍
@@DartsReviewChannel Good to know ! Thanks Darren 👍👍
I’ve had good luck with Harrow’s Clic system, though they have their critics. The regular shafts have been nearly bulletproof and the flights have a long life, especially with Trident nosecones. Unfortunately, they don’t come in the best color, which we all know is green. 😉 As you say, find what works for you.
I quite liked the Clic but as you say its finding what works and for me the issue was my darts kept getting stuck in the little Clic window part on the flight, so was a bit annoying in the end :) Of course Green is best! :)
The slo-mo says it all really. Will give these a miss. Although I would be interested to see whether a drop of light oil in the joint would get them spinning.
However saying that, when bits keep falling off or breaking it gets really annoying and eventually rather expensive.
On that note my first set of relatively expensive darts were from Target and had their Swiss Point TM tips, they still do in fact. The modular design seemed like a good idea as it felt like it would cover a few bases, and as I was a beginner there was also that I wanted to see if I was missing something. It was usually a double but green trebles were easy enough to find. Anyway, after some experimenting I found that the medium length was my favourite.
After a little while though one by one they would snap. I was finding that anything other than the shortest length would break within a week of daily use and even the shorts would only last a couple of weeks.
On top of that the nylon stems were breaking and flights were abandoning ship left right and centre so I decided something had to change.
I made a switch to aluminium stems from Designa and since then have not had to replace one as a result of catastrophic failure and can't even remember the last time I've had to bend down for a disappearing flight, darts yes but not flights. What I don't understand though is since switching to the aluminium stems the Swiss Point TMs have not broken. Not a single one. It has been so long since a snap their grippy black coating has worn off.
We all know what is going to happen tomorrow don't we.
It's like I always say though ultimately it's about finding what works best for you but sometimes you just have to try something different to satisfy the curiosity but I also find sometimes certain different stems and setups will work better or worse with certain darts, it's fun to try things to find out though 😊👍
Had these for a while. Had no issues apart from the fact you need to hit them with a sledge hammer too make them spin!
LOL!
Great work, Darren!
Cheers 👍
Do you think it would make any difference if those stems are used along with a flight punch?
Possibly, not tried it but will depend if the flight will sit in far enough
I commented on an update video you did today but try dropping a set on the floor and see if they break because all the tops broke off of my shafts in a very short period of time and I mean minutes
Thanks, I am just getting round to replying to them all but had another phone call from Harrows explaining a bit more so will make a pinned comment on the P.S.A. video :)
Mine only lasted 5 days dropped a dart the carbon tip snapped off couldn’t be bothered trying to dig out the base/turning part 🤷🏻♂️back to l-style
Ah that is the worry I had, I had a few hit the floor but luckily they did not break, guess it all depends on how they hit though but if they do break like yours have its a big problem removing the broken bit!
Great review. Been using metal stems for years and still see no reason to change, especially to these.
Thanks! Yes if you have something that works why change :)
If you use the L style flight, do they still come off when throwing them tight next to eachother?
I did not try it but as Harrows have said they are a faulty batch I will wait to test when I get a proper set and do an update, I think the L style were a bit tighter though.
Nice stems overall but rather gimmicky. What you mentioned about snapping at the base happened to a guy in my league after a few throws. Impossible to get the remaining bit out.
Well I am going by my experience with the Target Ti Pro, they were great until the carbon snapped in the base, don't think carbon is so good in such slim dimensions 🙂
Probably the thinness like you said, I use regular Supergrip Carbon stems and they are almost impossible to break.
Great review as always but it seems like quite a gimmick. Too many parts to break. I'll stick to my Harrows Carbon shafts or Target Pro Grips.
Thanks mate 👍😊
I'm going to be trying these next week.
Let us know how you get on with them :)
I will
Do not watch this while eating breakfast!! Those predators! Great review as always. Have a brilliant Christmas and enjoy the darts
LOL! yeah best not look at that bit! Thanks Barry, all the best! :)
Nice review but I just purchased some Lstyle stems and flights.
Thanks! :)
Ive been using these stems for two weeks now, They really don't do anything they're so tight & I broke two at the insert from bounce out...I don't recommend these unfortunately
Well I can't see the point of them if they are not doing what they are designed to do and having them break in the base is my worry too
ive bought the stems and flights and this is the first time i knew within a few throws that this was my worst buy EVER!!! stems break insanely fast... broke my first stem within 15 mins of throwing with that setup and the flights come off way too easy, although a flight puncher solves it, still i was so dissapointed i got rid of the few sets i had left. going back to my trusted L style setup and maybe ill try out set of condor zero stress.
Was it the carbon tops that broke or the polycarbonate part?
@@DartsReviewChannel both.. i had 1 stem that broke into 3pieces.. snapped at the barrel and where the flight ends..weird as hell
Use a baby wipe I use them on my darts to clean name the come up really good
Good tip! :)
Huggies are the best
@@jamiejgarngad lol have you tried a few brands then?
NOOOOO!! Not green again. Joking aside harrows always made decent stems I've used their Alamo ones for years also I like the target spin ones so probably will be giving these a try.
not sure they are that great if you cant get the tops off to replace them and they dont seem to spin so may as well stick with the Carbon ST
@@DartsReviewChannel yeah I was thinking what you highlighted about bounce outs if it breaks where the top joins the stem then they're going to be impossible to replace with new tops.
I know
You know if you press down ever so slightly harder the flights literally SNAP on to the steps and WON'T pop off at all
Do you mean LStyle or just normal flights?
And do you think normal flights will work without the shaft-ring as well?
welches Teil ist aus Carbon
Hmmm,m. I hate rings to hold my flights , i do not use them , I think they cause a ricochet action ; I would rather pick up flights than use rings and I am 65 years young , lol ! So a fight that guards the shaft by sleeving over the shaft is an attractive idea . They aint cheap though , are they . Not too expensive as a system , but I dont know ... watch this space ! Happy Xmas folks
Yeah not cheap, not a lot is these days sadly! All the best David! :)
Buy some ultrasonic cleaner to get rid of the dirt and dust in your darts. Water, a drop of dish soap and/or some cleaning alcohol and your darts look and feel like new.
Yeah I know all about cleaning darts, it was something I just wanted to see up close and have an idea for a one off video where I do a before and after of those darts with a bit of a twist, when I get time to do it lol :) Cheers! :)
A bit of side view Action
LOL its good :)
I knew it would be
Well at least we know it's a tight fit .
Lol it sure is 😊
more PFAS weeeee
i make robinhood on everything else then condor waaay to much, now back to the board
I like the Condors😊
I bought 5 sets the week they came out from Dartshopper... The worst shafts ever.
Thanks Darren great review of a disappointing product 😭 best part of the review is they're green 🎯 happy darting 🎯
Cheers Vic 😊 lol green is always the best 😊💚👍
I am not sure this is a bad product and the pricing is not stupidly expensive in my opinion . I am willing to give this a try to be honest , but I am definitely not well off !
@@davidyendoll5903 Yeah most things are worth a try just to see if they suit you or not :)
My understanding is it’s more so for stopping a dart from killing a flight already on the board and can help with tight scoring. Definitely not a thing I’ll be benefitting from🤣🤣
LOL! :)
Green makes everything better lol . These stems are i think nonsense , dont see sense in making another version of vecta , nitrotech or recent sabre stems . These Harrows one seems as pretty bad product . Flights falling out from stem is another pretty bad side .
Main reason I prefer molded flights these days, saves my back 😊
@@DartsReviewChannel indeed . By plain stems Mission Griplock is one of best stems with their titanium rings . Tryed that and can say i've had a 0 fall out of flights from stem , its even better is that combo is good against Robin Hoods .
It's all about finding the gear that suits you best
@@DartsReviewChannel 100 % agree . Atm using Condor Axe but the fact is they not working that good for me as i would like lol
@@DartsReviewChannelbefore a while ive found 0.66 p dartscorner policarbonate stems and still i hasnt broke any stem . Its cheap and suits perfect for my dear titanium rings . Hold flights well . Wont waste money on few overpriced products like this .
Ejector flights lol
Pointless design 😂 Won’t be wasting my money on these. The Cosmo flights spin more than this on the locked stem version
Check my other video, they had a problem with the tops, will remain to be seen if the new improved ones are any better but they wont be out till February.
These shafts are crap. The first hour throwing with them I had three prongs break on the top and on carbon piece broke off flush inside the shaft…….and my flights popped off constantly.I used a little super glue on the flights to hold them in place. Not buying these again.
A lot of people had problems with them, Harrows said they had some faulty batches at the start but I have never bought any more to find out if they fixed the issues, guess not.
Honest advice : get a dartscorner policarbonate stems and mission f lock titanium rings . Of course punch the flights and you wont have issues . Not even a Robin Hoods wont damaged stem in that combo . So far by me 0 broken stems , 0.66 p per set stems is bargain .
Those look like crap to me. Thanks.
These shafts are crap, they don't spin and the tops break off leaving part of the top inside the stem making it impossible to remove. I contacted Harrows and they didn't even have the decency to reply. Not only will I not be buying any more of their junk I will be spreading the good word.
Nothing WD40 won’t solve 😂
Lol the magic spray 😜😁
Same as all the other harrows flights and stems absolute crap and a waste of money
Darren, please, first of all clean your darts before super close look 🤔 second, obviously you have to punch the flights so they won't get off the stem when touching. But, overall, I guess the result of your review is that the big words from Harrows are just big promotion without a truth. Sad.
LOL they whole idea is to see the state of them as they were lol! I think its just the slots are wide which is great for the L style flights, they sit tight. I am sure some will love the stems but not really sure they have any real difference to a usual style stem :)
@@DartsReviewChannel I see no need for the 360s. The carbon/St are pretty good enough 🎯
@@22BJ22 Yes they are good, Harrows phoned me today, they said some of the Carbon 360 tops were not made the right size which meant they would not remove easily or spin as they should on contact. So will do an update on the proper ones when I get some :)
Why bother when Harrows has the affordable Supergrip Carbon shafts? They also have the carbon ST shafts…both are actually carbon, and it isn’t just the tip which is carbon. Anyway, whatever haha thanks for the review, Darren mate, it killed 15 of time for me in an entertaining way.
