I think we need to petition RedBull to buy back the AirRace.
They quit because it was very expensive to organize it..I agree it was marvelous (I was used touring live all the European rounds and yes it was a unique experience) but unfortunately not a good business for RB in terms of revenue I think
They could at least do a couple of physical settings, a mini-race. @@Roblord70
@@Roblord70 I‘m aware of the history have seen a few races on several venues myself. And while I understand that RedBull had their reasons, economic or otherwise, I can only hope they find this new zombie event as horrendous as it was and rethink their decision.
The bare minimum should be real races in real places, real pylons with fair conditions and no nonsense … nonsense around it.
The track didn’t even work in the AR cityscape!

It is all very disappointing.
They turned it into a poor videogame experience.
Maybe they get so much negative feedback, that they at least bring the teams together in the same place and race on a real track.
This could still be supplemented with AR stuff, if it really has to be.
But this is no race. It’s a farce.
I expected nothing and they managed to make it worse than the worst I could imagine.

All racers maybe know that it's best to have real aircraft racing at the same location, like the Red Bull Air Race. However, with no sponsors, I think it's amazing that the players and staff thought about what they could do and made it into a competition even though it wasn't Plan A. I hope that this air race X will lead to the creation of a permanent air race series.
As an old fan of RB air race (and as a pilot too) it’s an interesting experiment to revive this fantastic Motorsport! Keep doing it. Maybe it will be interesting to see the qualification rounds too like it was possible in the RBar. Greetings from Italy
I applaud the effort in attempting to revive RBAR in some form or another but this is not the way to do it;albeit a novel idea. For all intents and purposes you may as well just compete using a full sim setup. It was far from engaging. Perhaps the way to allow RBAR to return is to reduce costs. Having multiple race courses and formats at the same location over several weekends and vary the location every year.?
先ずはエアレース自体が再開されたこと、そして室屋選手が優勝されたことがとても嬉しいです！
ただ、幕張でのあの臨場感や興奮などを知ってる身としては物足りなさを感じました…
渋谷の空に映している関係からかどこに今機体があるのかがよくわからなかったり、動きが少しカクつきがあり今一つ興奮までは行かない感がありました…まだ技術的にこれから進んでいけばそこは解決するのかもしれませんが、やはり生に勝るモノはないのかな…というのが正直な感想です。
また、日本そして各国を回ってレースが出来るようになることを切に願っています！（出来れば日本はまた幕張で…）
集まれなくて録画でやるにしても、実写映像にCGでパイロン入れた方がまだよくないですか?
そもそもメタバースなんか使ったのが間違い。
I can't believe the different weather conditions are not compensated. If a pilot is facing cross-winds for instance, and the others are flying in dead calm conditions, or one is hot and high and another is cool and low, it is simply not fair.

Really good observation. We spent a lot of time discussing this topic and we could not come up with a good simple solution that we could apply in fairness to the 8 different locations and teams. There will be advantages and disadvantages to each location.
All the pilots had their own weather issues, being cloud, rain and wind. Most utilised the 6 days to do their fastest runs when the weather was favourable.

今回の映像はちょっとお粗末で残念です。
誰もメタバースなんかの世界を望んでいないのは視聴数にも現れていると思います。
未来につながればとクラファンでも応援しましたが、これだと人気が出ない気がします。
室屋さんがメタバース軍団に騙されて乗せられた格好でしょうか？
メタバースってセカンドライフと同じオワコンでは？
バーチャルな映像ならわざわざ実機を飛ばさないでもeスポーツでいい気がします。
実機が飛ぶ臨場感、室屋さんの雄姿に感動するから何万もの人が幕張に集まり一緒に涙したのだと思います。
来年もデジタルラウンドならクラファンもやらないし、視聴もしないでしょう。
一日も早く実機での(今回も実機で飛んでいるわけですが）リアルなレースが始まる日を心待ちにしております。
世界各地でそれぞれタイムトライアルというのはよいとしても、わざわざお粗末なVRにしなくても実機が飛んでいるのを中継すれば良いのでは。
レッドブルエアレースと比べるとかなり迫力不足かな。

Detailed analysis of the Air Race X live broadcast,
Considering that this is a completely new format that may have bugs and initial difficulties, but the live broadcast unfortunately gave me very mixed impressions.
- Air Race X Logo animations > Cool,
- Pilot intro videos > Cool,
- Competitors Animations > 29:37, 36:19 Cool
- Race mockup animation > rudimentary 30:32
- Pylons> It was hard to recognize them more distant in Shibuya streets 30:56, 42:19 Pilons are floating in the air??
- Air Race X summary teaser cool > 36:49
- On many occasions, several seconds have to be waited for appearing the planes. > 38:42
- The camera loses track of the planes several times > 39:11
- Fireworks animation is very cheap.
- It is explained nowhere how the pilots see the gates during the flight?
- Planes flown through buildings several times > 44:00, It evokes memories of September 11.
- Slow-motion replay videos are not smooth. Look rather 15 frames/sec,
- The poor overarticulated English of the commentator lady is more comical than dramatic.
The fact that the qualifiers were not broadcast is unacceptable,
Strange and thought-provoking things:
1. The RUclips broadcast of the final was live, so everything had to happen in real-time.
- 43:17 Yoshi is shown after take off, close to the ground,
- 44:50 Yoshi crossed the finish line and won the race,
- 49:49 Yoshi accepted the award on stage.
So only 6.5 minutes passed between his take off and his arrival on the podium. How is it possible if everything happened in real time? From this video, it looks like Yoshi's hangar is not in downtown Tokyo. ruclips.net/video/pW9ZxNzvbqY/видео.html
However, the whole English broadcast was subtitled in English but Yoshi's speech on the podium had no subtitle.
2. Of course, all my respect goes to Yoshi and I congratulate him on his victory, it's a great sporting achievement. It follows that he is still the legitimate world champion. So it was a bit of a hasty statement.
Conclusion:
By omitting augmented reality, a much more interesting and exciting competition could be held between physical air gates, even if the pilots are not competing in the same geographical location. Taking into account that the pilots have well-known, capital-strong sponsors, setting up a couple of air gates should not cause a lot of additional costs. If this does not happen, then Air Race X will become a toy of a privileged few, without wide fan support.

Desmond Barry! The whole competition is terribly rudimentary. It's nothing like the Red Bull Air Race. It can't even be called an air race. The whole thing is like a video game in a rudimentary alpha phase from the 90s. The commentator lady's bad English only worsens the already disappointing experience. The extremely low views on RUclips and low interest on Facebook (1.4K followers) clearly show that this format is a big mistake. This has no future. I don't think this is what millions of Red Bull Air Race fans expected after a 4-years of pause. I get a lot more positive stimuli if I go to a local air show and watch Péter Besenyi's flight. There really is a Wow effect and it brings tears in my eyes. Air Race X is also a mockery of Péter Besenyei's previous work and efforts.
This is not an alternative to RBar in my opinion it’s something different for sure not as adrenalinic as a live show (I started flight lessons as a results of seeing many live races)…”millions of people” didn't pay for a ticket and the show was no longer sustainable in terms of costs and the cities were no longer willing to have most of the costs (you're from Budapest I imagine if you go to see Peter…they were the first who left for example…changed location suddenly to Balaton lake to save the day…I was there)

Budapest was a completely different story. It was a political game. Unfortunately, there were indeed disruptions in traffic during the race, as the Danube bank was closed for almost a week. A lot of people didn't like it. And since there was a mayoral election in Budapest that year, the then mayor tried to get a few thousand more votes by banning the competition. This is how the competition moved to the shores of Lake Balaton. By the way, during the planning phase of RBAR (2001-2002), Péter Besenyei originally recommended Lake Balaton as a location. Budapest was chosen later because there is more tourist traffic there.

I appreciate how very expensive the RBAR and later lesser branding races must have been to outlay.
But this, virtual gaming scenario is not the way to go, again, sorry.

I think it’s a technical issue, you cannot do this in real time, you have to process information and put them into the visualization mode that you see…it’s a complex thing I thing but they are trying and chapeau to them doing it IMO
