I just tried this trick on my 2014 Rav4 and it worked like a charm. I have a keyless ignition, so you have to push the start button while NOT pressing the brake. You also have to hit the start button twice to get it so that the AC, radio, and everything lights up, but the engine doesn't start. I got it to work and I'm so thankful I found this link!!
Omg! You are awesome! I drive a chevy venture van for work and i often times want to sit with the door open, but the dinging is so annoying. This trick totally worked! It stopped the door dinging altogether. Awesome.
Wow this worked on my 2011 mitsu lancer! The bell would literally go off every 5 seconds 3 times even when I was parked! drove me absolutely insane thank you!
When I went to visit them I was able to do this on my parents' 2008 Dodge Dakota....my mom was going crazy with the chime 24/7. An auto electrician was charging quite a bit to fix it... Thanks a lot Dan Rogers! Cheers
dawggydawggy2010 so you saved them alot of money and look like a handy man. Win win for you. :) your secret is safe with me (wink wink), well me and 1700 subscribers.
Thank you very much man. I get sick of mine for the same reason, and my car won't even recognize it if I put it on while driving. This will help me maintain my sanity!
Make sure you follow his directions exactly. I missed a step and it didn’t work but when I tried again step by step it worked on my Honda Fit 2012 granted mine didn’t dig to say it was off but it’s off!! Now my dogs an ride shotgun without the dinging driving me crazy!
Worked in my 07 Town & Country. The only catch was I had to take my seatbelt off before switching back to the off position for it to work. Thanks dude!
Dan,thanks so much for helping me kill that annoying bell. Like you i drive around my property and dont like the hassle of belting and unbelting every 100 feet or so. But absolutely every time i pull onto the street i am buckled as are all my passengers. Thanks brother
Thanks a bunch! Just performed your procedure on my 2004 Dodge 3500. Worked like a charm. In the past, I had tried other suggested methods that didn't work at all.
I have a 2006 Jeep Commander with same issue I sprayed $8 can of contact cleaner directly into seat belt latch after 10 to 20 minutes problem was solved good idea to do it on all seat belt in front seat hope this helps as well
using my phone I don't have the convenience of reading through descriptions I only look at thumbnails and titles not everyone is sitting at home on a computer. don't feel left out, there are plenty of videos of do the same thing I just happened to pick on you and took the time out to complain. Thanks.
2006 GMC Yukon checking in here and it worked flawlessly. Dan is the fucking man. I love the step by step process. You have no idea how annoying that was. Thank you for sharing the video!!
Thank you for the tips i ha ve a car with leather seats for short ride is good but for long drive is exhausting the only that help is unbuckled the seat belt but noise is unbearable I was thinking to jammed with a coin or something but I’m going to try this instead
Looks like it worked for everyone but me. Have 2014 GMC Acadia. May be doing something wrong. Do I need to take that ride first, or have had the vehicle running, and then go thru the process? One thing is, there's no waiting for the s-b light to turn off after turning the key to on with the seat belt latched. It doesn't come on when latched.
According to the website, to disable the seat belt alarm on a 2014 GMC Acadia: Buckle in Turn the key to the "on" position without starting the engine Unbuckle and buckle back in three times Turn the truck back to the "off" position The bell will indicate that the alarm is disabled
Please a solution for Volkswagen Passat tdi? I plug the seatbelt, but it still alarms, so I have to grab the seatbelt and slightly adjust it to stop alarming, but belt gets back to the initial position if I turn and do manoeuvres...
A guy says in his 2011 Elantra he replaced his alternator n this signal stop coming on . I replace my same car yr part here over two years ago n this so da first time I have this issues yesterday. So I need to replace this part again
My local Ford dealership in Australia wanted to charge me $159 just to diagnose the seat belt alarm and tailgate remaining locked. I can now see why Ford and Holden (GM) are dying a slow death down under.
The older trucks didn't have a bell for seatbelts in the back. Just the passenger seat. With that said I do not know. If you find out be sure to come back and share your findings with up please.
Doesn't work for my 2015 RAV4. Don't have discreet trip button so other remedy doesn't work either.. Anybody know of 2015 RAV4 way besides pushing trip odometer?
followed your advise today on both my '07 Dodge Ram 2500 my '12 Jeep SRT8- worked on both!!! Canbus????? thanks again, you do the stuff I don't have time to look into but a great knowledge resource.... Thanks Dan.
I have a 2008 ford explorer and my annoying alarm is the low fuel alarm. It starts at 50 miles to go before running out of gas and continues to beep until I get gas. I would like to change it to 25 miles to go or even lower before alarming. Can this be done?
Phillip Livesay on of the reasons it is set at 50 miles is so that the fuel filter does not suck up the sediment and junk off the bottom of the tank when that last few gallons is sloshing around in the tank. Un fortunately I am not overly familiar with ford fuel systems.
hey bro I have the same truck as you and have tried this 20 times and still the ridiculous bell, use for landscaping truck so constantly in and out i can't take it anymore what can I be doing wrong I've watched your video step by step a hundred times, is there an alternate way like a plug or a fuse
@@mindysidebotham7497 this video is a temporary fix but I had someone disengage the alert bc the driver seat belt started ringing too. The wires under the driver seat is where you can disengage the alerts for one or both seat belts without compromising the integrity of the seat belt. It was super simple once the mechanic knew which wires to unplug. Let me know if you have further questions. I can give you the name/number of the mechanic I used. He might be able to walk you through the process 👍
I have a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country but I must be doing something wrong. Unbuckle buckle...unbuckle buckle...unbuckle buckle. Do I leave it buckled when I turn the ignition off and wait for the bell?
Didn’t work for my 2007 Acura TSX, I tried this twice so it also won’t work on with Acura’s or Honda’s because they are the same thing in case some people didn’t know, so I’ll look into my owners manual now
Thank you for watching and asking. Clarification: the light goes off if the seatbelt is fastened. When I drive around my property unbuckled the light is on, but alos the chime keep going when the truck is in motion. After running through the process that I did in the video to disable the chime I recorded the truck in motion without the belt buckled. The light was on showing the belt not buckled, but the chime was deactivated. Thanks again for watching.
Russ Wenzinger Glad that it worked for you too. Pass my video on to people you know that may have the same issue. Just curious what year and model did you do this method to?
I have a Chevy Silverado but for every vehicle there are wires going away from the seat belt. Follow those to the first connector and push down on the tab to disconnect. Takes 10 seconds. Do not mess with any other wires which are there for air bags and so on. I do not condone driving without a seat belt unless your using your vehicle on personal property farming hunting moving things and so on. Experienced mechanic for Toyota.
I doubt it. A quick internet search yielded the result that says put key in ignition, press the odometer reset button until it displays "ODO" switch the ignition off, then back to the on position, then to hold down the mileage button for 15 seconds unit the display reads "B off". The website says it is in the user's manual if you have that in the glove box by chance. Good luck!
It's most most likely either the censor in the seat belt, or the plug at the base of the seat belt where it bolts to the floor. Maybe just a bad or corroded connection. Cheapest fix is to pull a new plug base from a salvage yard. If that's not an option ebay is a good alternative.
Humberto Capotal My friend there are many possibilities. Here are a few ideas to look for: are the lug nuts tight? when you jack up the car does the wheel easily shake by hand, if so it is a wheel barring. Is it only when you hit bumps? if so it could be the ball joints,. shocks or struts. Is it only when you are turning? it could be an axle joint. There are MANY possibilities here. kinda need more info to even begin to be able to assist you.
It only shakes when im goin 40 to 60 mph nd if I let go of the gas it stops bt when I press on the gas again it starts to shake right away asoon as you press the gas
Give the man a No Bell prize...
That was terrible and you should be ashamed. Jk lol
That was good
Why did you say? “give the man a no bell prize? “It sure is at work for me!
@theworshipsinger is a joke, now you hear no bells from the seatbelt
😂😂😂😂😂😜😜😜
