#1 Chanel is hands down the best foundation I’ve used in years. It’s all I use especially on my youthful looking but mature skin. No settling into fine lines or wrinkles for a flawless finish every time. Worth every penny.
Lancome care & glow is my favorite foundation of the year. Love it so much!! Perfect coverage, so flattering and longwearing. Haven't tried Chanel, it's just so dang expensive. But Lancome works perfectly for me. 🥰
I am OBSESSED with the Nars Light Reflecting Skin Foundation. I was introduced to it early this year and I am still obsessed with it to this day. It is my everyday foundation. I find the best way to apply it is with your fingers. If you are oily to normal skin, this is the perfect foundation for you! I also purchased the CT foundation and I absolutely hated it. I’m typically obsessed with all things CT, but this foundation did NOT work for me.
The Danessa Myricks balm powder is such a sleeper product! During the summer it was my go-to. It’s easy and beautiful layered over Auric’s glow lust.
I loved the Rare Beauty Positive Light Reflecting Tinted Moisturizer, as a combo oily skin girl, the Armani Power Fabric is also a fav. I also did love the Hourglass Ambient Soft Focus Foundation and Nars Light Reflecting Foundation.
This was very informative and helpful, thanks to you, I will try Rare Beauty, Lancôme and Armani🌺🌹🌺
I love Chanel No.1, it works with my dry skin so well.
There's no fragrance or spf, which makes me soooo happy 😊
Sending you lots of love 🌟💚💚🌟💚💚🌟
Fragrance is a huge turn off for me so thank you for mentioning that.
There’s fragrance in it. I just checked the ingredient list. Very disappointed.
@@amycurtis535
You're right!
I have to say though, I honestly can't detect any once it's been applied, that said, fragrance is fragrance and I definitely stand corrected. 💗💗
I am highly sensitive to fragrance. The scent in Chanel No.1 is very mild and disappears quite quickly. This is my holy grail foundation for my 73 year old, dry, skin. I am so glad I didn’t let the scent put me off!
I know the Nars light reflecting foundation gets so much love. And I do like it, it looks gorgeous for about the first half of the day. From there, it gets a bit too shiny, even with adding powder. I still love it, but it's not my favorite.
The Chanel nr 1 is my favorite from this year, but I already used it up because for the look I like, I needed quite a lot of it. Haven't repurchased it yet because I have a lot to go through first, but that was a beauty!
I really love the Sisley one, too. You can keep building it and that gives more coverage, but it always looks beautiful and natural. I didn't love the amount of fragrance in it though, that and the price are the only downsides of this and the Chanel. But I truely love both.
Patty: The best remedy for dry skin, combine the following:
• Lanolin: lanolin is a natural substance that sheep produce that keep their skin and wool nice and protected
• Vitamin E oil
Put a little bit of lanolin in a dish with a couple drops of vitamin E oil, mix it up good and rub it into your hands and other parts of your body and you're going to notice a great moisturizer effect especially in the winter.
Thank you for disclosing your skin type. I hate when people go on and on about a foundation but don’t mention their skin type so thank you
I really want to try the Armani after hearing your positive experience! Unfortunately the Rare Beauty Tinted Moisturizer didn't work for me, I ended up returning it! There was no shade/undertone that matched me well, I ended up looking gray and after a few hours I looked oily and the coverage had faded! I ended up loving the Danessa Myricks balm this year and the new Hourglass Ambient foundation
I too have dry skin and found that the the Hourglass Ambient foundation has a definite “less is more” situation going on with it. It looks phenomenal on me when I use the Elf dupe for the Hollywood Flawless filter underneath first, then layer this on top, but no more than 1 pimp for the whole face. Flawless! I made the mistake of just using a primer and using more foundation, and cake City! Give it another try and maybe use the Elf or CT flawless filter underneath and then see what you think 😊
Oh wow! The Haus Labs Foundation is BY far, the best foundation I have tried and I have dry skin lol goes to show how products really work differently for everyone :) such a great list! Love the vid!
I have combination skin leaning oily and while I agree that the Chanel is excellent, but some of my top pics are the CT and Kosas. They thrive on my skin and look so much more natural, glowy and hold up all day. I also prime with sticky/glowy primers for longevity.
1:24 Burt's Bees foundations are medium coverage, thin consistency and ultra hydrating. The formulation is amazing and underrated.
Yay! I was waiting for this video. Your advice on foundations is excellent.
What shade do you wear in the danessa myricks yummy balm and the Lancôme foundation?
I’m going to put both Lancôme and Chanel on my list. I used to use Lancôme foundation and I stopped for some reason. It always looked beautiful.
32:45 Add a bit of medium thick moisturizer, the the white of the moisturizer will dilute the color of the foundation and make it a lighter shade.
The older I get, the more I’ve noticed how dry my skin gets in the winter. I typically have fairly normal skin, but I may have to try out some of your top favorites after this video. Always love how in-depth your videos are 🧡

Thank you Patty! I have dry skin and these videos are SO helpful. I appreciate this video so much. ❤
This could have not come at a better time. I'm trying to pick a new foundation to order and I was stuck. I am definitely going to use this to help me. It's really hard to find a great match and be hydrating and full coverage lol 😆
Marie Bennett, dont guess. Can you go to an Ulta, Sephora or Department store? You can try them out and get testers. The staff can color match you.
I was also so devastated at the CT one. I liked it on my skin but within days it started severely breaking out. I’m 54. I don’t have breakouts usually. The more I wore it, the worse it got.
How?? Im 24 w acne prone skin and it was great
@@hollybabyyy No idea! Isn't that crazy? I gave it to my daughter who was thrilled. 🙂
Your rankings somewhat surprised me and I think it’s just a perfect demonstration that what works for one person in terms of makeup may not work for everyone and even other dry skin or oily skin people can have different experiences with the same product…I haven’t seen anyone review that Rare Beauty skin tint that liked it and it’s Sephora reviews are middle at best…the Patrick Ta was in some people’s worst of the year. And personally I love the Charlotte Tillbury Beautiful Skin and it works nicely for me…moral of the story, get samples when possible and trial and error, I guess 🤷♀️😁
Love foundations! From how you described your skin, sounds like you have dehydrated skin just like mine. The key is hydrate, hydrate and hydrate. I love your reviews!

The Charlotte Tilbury too? I also find it a little thick and I could see my pores but powdering it down with finishing powder fixes that problem!
Hi Patty, My best or my most favorite foundations that I tried this year are:
1) Makeup forever the new Formula. Blown away at the great match at Bianca my sales associate at Sephora gave me 🤗. Great finish non-drying It looks skin like but better and more really well on me.
2) My number two best foundation is the Lancome Teint Idole Care & Glow. Looks beautiful on my face Where's long and just keeps my skin hydrated and lovely all day 🤗🎊🙏❤️. 3)NARS
Light reflecting foundation in color Syracuse- looks amazing on my skin. I already wear NARS radiant longwear for 4 years and I love that one but this is a different look. 4) L YS Very hydrating and beautiful I couldn't believe I could find something that works so well for only $22. Worth more than that by far 🤗🎊❤️🙏. I want to get that Chanel Foundation.
My favorite foundation of the year is the CT one. It works so well for my dry skin. It doesn't emphasize dry spots and I love the glow. I also tried the lancome care&glow foundation. It's nice, but I expected a little bit more of a glow. I don't notice a huge difference in comparison to the usual teint idole foundation. The worst foundation I tried this year was the nars light reflecting foundation. It didn't serve me any coverage, it emphasized dry spots and it was just to liquidy for my taste.
That L’Oréal true match serum stuff is so good! I also love the rose inc. I obviously prefer a thinner and light to medium coverage. I also enjoyed the haus labs
I so want to try that Hourglass yet I have very dry flaky skin too! Even the Sephora lady told me it's not good for dry skin.... I'll hold on to the end of your video to see what I need! Merry Xmas beautiful
9:32 If a foundation is too thick, add a half a drop of oil to what you're going to apply to your face OR apply an oil to your skin before application. OR add moisturizer to the foundation.
Great video! Any chance you could do a video on how to pick which primer to use? That's where I struggle getting foundations to work I think. Are there certain types of foundations you want to use certain primers for? What kind of primers work well with what foundations? And how do you know what primer formula will work with certain foundation formulas? If that makes sense? Great video! I bought the Armani, Charlotte Tilbury, Patrick Ta, Este Lauder Double Wear, and Hourglass to try over the last few months but haven't had a chance to try them yet LOL. This video has me excited to get off my butt and play with my makeup more.
I can’t believe 2 of my absolute top foundations are in your top 3 too. Feeling kinda pleased with myself😂 Oh and I watched your top concealers vid and your number 1 is also in my top 3 concealers🥳
I have super dry skin and i rly love the no1 Chanel foundation too!!!
Hi 👋 ❤patty I love your videos because make me buy the best of the best ❤❤❤❤❤❤1st here
I completely agree with you about the Hourglass foundation! 💯
I have the same armani one for 2 years and not even a quarter empty, because I hardly ever use foundation, maybe only a few times a year and when I do I end up using a skin tint or BB cream. I used up the ELF CC cream and the NARS tinted moisturiser which I liked. I'm loving the ELF Halp glow at the moment
Is so easy to get my shade on foundation because I use the same shade as you
My favs are
The Chanel #1. B20
The Lancôme teint idole ultra wear 305N
Nars light reflecting foundation Vienna L4.5
Pat McGrath L/M 9
Great video Patty my favorite foundations are Dior Air flash, PML, the new MF HD skin, Shiseido synchro skin and EL futurist 💕
Love your videos 💕 I thought the Gucci foundation was this year??? Totally bought the Minka pallet today because of you 💕💕💕😊
I have EXACT the same issue with the Nars Light Reflecting Foundation. I really love the finish on my cheeks but around my mouth and nose....🙈 Think I should try one of your faves. Thank you ✨❤️
What!? Haus Labs? Most everyone loves it, it’s for dry skin! You might want to reevaluate your skin care routine underneath.
Same with the hourglass. My skin is normal to dry and I had no problem with either one, I did my cleansing, my toner, my moisturizer, my sunscreen and my primer and they both went on beautifully.
I do find with the hourglass that a tiny bit goes a long way, if you put even the littlest bit of too much on it’s not gonna come out right you have to be very light handed with it and blend quickly.
Yayy I was waiting for this video! We have the same skin type. I got the channel 1 and love it thanks to you
Just wanted to say your look today is gorgeous. Those eyes are smokin girl!❤
My no1 foundation from this year is the Nars light reflecting foundation i absolutely love (i have combo skin), 2nd place would be the Hourglass glass.
Same here! I’m obsessed with it.
@@nicoleduzenman222it is so good, i just started my second bottle
@@debbieotoole1072 omg so funny you say that. I JUST bought my second bottle yesterday at Sephora. (It lasted a year). I also tried the CT one and hated it. I do like the Chanel one but it’s too expensive and I think the Nars one is just as pretty, if not prettier. I have normal/oily skin.
@@nicoleduzenman222 i have the same skin as you, i didn't like the CT either. I still haven't tried the Chanel.
@@debbieotoole1072 the CT caked up on my skin and appeared very thick. Just icky all around. What makes me sad is I typically love CT and I am actually obsessed with her newest concealer. But this was a bust for me. I recommend the Chanel for sure. It’s similar in my opinion to the Nars.
Thank you lovely, I appreciate your opinion so much, those eyes😍😍 stunning, absolutely beautiful, sending hugs and best wishes from Australia 🇦🇺 Happy Holidays 😘
Fabulous review, Patty! In a few weeks, you will reach 100k subscribers!
I have the rare beauty and I like it, but I struggle with it clinging to dry patches. Once I started mixing it with a primer and using a beauty blender, it got a little better. I usually use my fingers to apply foundation and that did not work for me with this one. It also caused pilling with my moisturizer.
I wanted to love the Lancome but I'm between shades and it makes me so sad. My favourite this year has been the Hourglass Ambient Soft Glow. It is perfect on my oily skin, I don't get dry patches so it doesn't have anything to adhere to and just wears beautifully.
Also, a totally underrated product for me was the Wayne Goss Luxury Cream foundation. I didn't expect to love it as much as I do, it perfects my skin and wears so nicely throughout the day.
I love the Chanel too, I really think Chanel makes some absolutely gorgeous foundations.
I also LOVE the new Lancôme foundation. ❤️
If you could do a concealer one that would help me !!
I loved the Nars light reflecting one this year! Also Angelica nyqvist hates the rare beauty tinted moisturizer 😂
By the way…..I ❤ your eye brows😍
That is a lot of foundation purchases for one year, lol and I thought purchasing six was a bit too many, lol🤣 Thanks so much for this video; I am definitely going to try a couple that you mentioned on your top 6 list. As always, you are bella today🥰
I love the ct one. The kosas one is my favourite ever
The Chantecaille Future Skin and the Westman Atelier liquid one were my favs of the year. I would love to try the Rare Beauty skin tint. Thanks, Patty! p.s. what shade are you in the RB skin tint??
It would really help if you posted the foundation brand and product name in the video as well as created timestamp chapters. This is often how I find new youtubers is when I'm looking foe reviews on specific products. They will come up in google results when chapter titles are created.
I love the hourglass, I usually use it as a mixer. And I am forcing myself to use the Haus Labs foundation even though one day it looks amazing and then the next day it looks terrible. But I forgot to return it so I’m going to make the best of it.
I love your shadow babe! Tutorial?
Thanks for this super informative video ❤
I need a tutorial on your eye look!
I tried samples of the Hourglass, Haus Labs, and the CT foundation, and I had the SAME exact problems with them as you did. Not for me. Too drying, and the CT was way too thick, and was cake face on me, no matter what I did. I had the same issue with the NARS as well.
The loreal tint serum is great
I have really dry skin and the rare beauty clung to my dry patches and broke me out and I NEVER have breakouts 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you for not putting music over your voice. I can hear you and that's so important
Yay your #1 is also my #1. I just bought another bottle
Estée Lauder was pretty good, sooo matte!
Excellent review.
I couldn’t make the hourglass or haus labs work for me. I had the same experience with the haus labs….applied it numerous ways and had to give up
I keep wanting to get the Charlotte Tilbury and make-up forever newer foundations but both are sold out in store in my color. I have a problem wanting to try every single foundation ever lol. Then I try to make ones I don't like work even though I have favorites.
Kerri Wright: That's an environmental and financial waste. Stick with the ones you like.
Have you ever tried the Glo skin cosmetics foundation?
33:30 Everyone LOVES the Channel foundation.
Dry skin queeeeens lol.
Foundations make me so sad when it’s Dry around my mouth. In the corners of my lips it looks like I have crumbs lol like what the heck.
Do you mind suggesting one high end foundation for normal to oily skin, light weight please
Also looking for drugstore foundation lightweight
Dont know which one to buy. Tia
No 1 de Chanel & L’Oréal True Match
I am currently using Chanel No
1 and also ❤️ it. I have another bottle of PMG foundation, LM9 but that shade has gone a shade darker on me. I am LM 8 now. Not sure what i can do to compliment or use to mix with LM9 to get a perfect shade just to use that bottle up. 🤔
hi Patty can you recommend me a good pore smoothing primer? I have combination skin. thanks Patty
Have you tried RMS foundation? I tried it when I got a sample from spacenk. It was beautiful.
I bought the Haus Labs, but it just didn't work. I ended up mixing it with my It your skin but better. 2 parts it to 1 part Haus and love the 2 together. Nars and Makeup Forever didn't work for me either. Every time I try a recommendation, I usually end back with It. I think it's a mental condition. Lol.
Our skin must be the same girl the ones that didn't work fr you don't work for me have you tried the sheseido skin refreshing foundation I swear by it it it amazing in all areas stays on all day doesn't look cakey u can't feel it on its beautiful also Tom ford is awesome too
hai patty! would you like to trying out uoma beauty product?i would like to know your thought about this brand❤
I wasn't impressed with the CT. My 2 faves are the Yensa Serum Silk Foundation and the Estee Lauder Futurist Hrdra Active. I am 52 with dry skin and it just looks like my natural skin with a translucent sheen. Both are very buildable and do not settle in fine lines.
I usually have amazing luck w foundations. I HATED the haus labs foundation. It was liek a thick mask. Immediately broke apart
I trust you .❤
Ok I’m shocked, I have dry older skin and the hourglass and Haus labs foundations are my top 2
The only person I know who hates the rare beauty skin tint is angelica nyquist 😂
Great video❤. New sub.
Hi Patty you always look make my money 💸💸💸💸
I accidentally got the hourglass foundation in the wrong color and it looks so so so dry and heavy on me. I've heard everyone else loves it except you and I I guess lol.
Angie really didn't like the rare beauty tint. It's too greasy looking on her normal to oily skin. I think I have similar likes to you in foundation because I have some very dry skin areas.
Please hold the product still.
You are beautiful, Patty.
Ct beautiful skin thick???????
Sorry darling but rare beauty is not one of my favorites, is emphasized my pores and lines
This foundation the Chanel one day I will love the next I will highly HIGHLY dislike it…..
Less is more with the Chanel I have to admit the Haus labs is my fav
I usually have amazing luck w foundations. I HATED the haus labs foundation. It was liek a thick mask. Immediately broke apart
Ct beautiful skin thick???????
