Held at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire, UK, this si the largest adventure bike festival in the UK (and maybe the largest in Europe?!). We spent 3 amazing days making new friends, riding bikes, and soaking up the awesome vibes.
Oh, and I also managed to ride our GS into a ditch hahah!

It was good meeting you guys at the ABR Festival
I feel Lucy's pain. As a 5'4" male with a 27" inseam, riding adventure bikes is pretty difficult. They all have very tall seat heights, which is very frustrating. I am going to check out a Yamaha 250 XT. Obviously, I wont be doing itchy boots stuff, but I can still play in the dirt and ride on street. I did check out Himalayan, but it is quite a bit heavier than the Yamaha.

have a look into getting a lowering kit for a crf250l its a super light manageable bike when you lower it. you can easily pick it up off the floor.

Cool video. That's much more professional than what mine will be like 🤣. Mine might not be quite so positive this year too. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was the 3rd year for me. Probably my last. It's got too big for me & starting to become something else. I loved your photos. You seem like a really cool happy couple. I'd have liked to have had a beer with you both. Take care 🤘

Yeah its a big festival, bigger than we thought. Still awesome. But hopefully they don't keep growing it too much.

I think i would have binned that tank bag for the trail ride, it would be to intrusive, for me anyway, as a short arse 😊
I'm fairly short and I didn't notice the tank bag at all!
Why doesn’t she tries a secondhand “GS650” which small and reliable at very low cost !
She actually sat on a friends a few months ago and it did fit quite well!

There was less for Lucie to get involved with, but she still enjoyed it.
Good effort on the trail and expertly ditched! I'll have the perfect starter adventure bike for sale at the end of the year once the Grand Challenge is over. It survived the ABR and TRF trails no problem and I reckon Lucie could easily flat foot it (as it's pretty cripplingly short for me 😅) Here it is in action ruclips.net/video/w_0_fwKGdxg/видео.html

@@we.are.adventure.riders it'll be well used by the end of the year, but it'll be cheap! I'm thinking probably a grand, for completeness. It did do remarkably well.
Adventure bikes, the bikes like the BMW GS. Buy one on HP for £20k, cover it in crash bars, apply paint protection, fit a GPS and a phone GPS backup, only ride it on the local roads, book your annual week holiday to the continent through the GS owners club because then you will have safety in numbers and the route has been done by other GS owners many times in the past. Pre-book all hotels, only ride on the road to keep the bike clean.
Arrive home and think you have had an adventure, unbelievable.
