I really love them! Her energy and her technique are so phenomenal! Natalia is the best Nikiya I ever saw! Her acting through the movements is really the best! And Vasiliev's jumps... I can't discribe it. Love them!
I LOVE THEM TOGETHER!!! Natalia has grown into a lovely young artist with her own take on these classics, which I find very refreshing and yet still so beautiful and effortless. Ivan Vasiliev is a true premiere danseur- his jumps defy gravity and his turns are just so heavenly. Thank you, hookham, for this great video and all your other videos! I'm sure I speak for a large part of the RUclips ballet community when I say we enjoy them very much!! :)
She is so cute, divine, beautiful ballet dancer with powerful charisma on the stage. Ivan is a young lion and one of the most powerfull and the most amazing dancers in the whole world. Unbellievably Talented and charismatic!!!!
Osipova is a Goddess, and Vasiliev is a God. They dance with such passion and enjoyment. But I worry about injury, especially for Ivan, especially when he does those complete backbends so quickly. My husband was a chiropractor and we had many younger patients with disk injuries from stretching or twisting their spines too fast, even though well conditioned. I want to see these two dancing and blowing audiences away for many years !
Bless you for this 'Hookham', it's a 10 minute trip to heaven seeing these two great dancers again bringing freshness, energy, acting, and phenomenal technique to roles new to them. It's a priveledge to watch.
Vasiliev is (ok, arguably) is the greatest male dancer today and he was a real loss for the bolshoi. I would love to see him more on any bolshoi production. His jumps are the greatest. Even better than the ballet bad boy (if you know who i mean)
I see Natalia as an ideal Nikiya and Giselle- there's an honesty, raw emotion, freshness, perhaps an idealism and naivete (tho I'm sure Natalia herself is very worldly and street smart) that comes through her characters. Her Kitri is a given, plus her technique is so sound you can just concentrate on her acting and dancing.
Natasha dances Nikiya with the original choreography with perfection, and Ivan is simply in his own league. NOONE has the physical presence or charisma now. This is roughly five years later, & to me, they are still matchless in Bayadare!
Point taken, but I still prefer Vasiliev is definitely a "man's man" kind of dancer - not ideally proportioned, not always classically correct, and given to taking unwarranted risks on stage. But, he IS exciting to watch. He has that electrifying, masculine energy that's not so common in ballet. To me, watching Tsiskaridze is like watching a girl in a male costume. My absolute worst ballet nightmare would be sitting through a PDD, any PDD, with Nikolai Tsiskaridze and Svetlana Zakharova.
She is so unique,so special kind of dancer, very emotional and sensitive, but full of energy and passion...i think the best female dancer nowdays. But first of all she is very cute person and sweet girl.
It's completely marvelous and heart-warming that inspite of now being diverted by, and exposed to the worst of the worst American-style entertainment ie, "Reality" TV shows, trash-talk TV, Jerry Springer - much of Russia still take Ballet very seriously and that its stars are still very much loved and revered.
I love this video so much! I always come back to watch it. Vasiliev, I didn't know Tetsuya Kumakawa was your father? ;D And off all the clips I've seen of Osipova, Nikiya is the best role for her.
pleeeeease tell me they're in love i swear ever since i saw their interview from Don Q when they both first started to rise as stars i could tell something special was there between them, you can't find a better partnership than these 2.
I saw them in Metropolitan,NYC,( Don Quixote)They just rock-n-rolled the theater......Everybody were screaming like crazy(me too), but he was dancing on the edge, he almost fell when he did double scissors. The whole theater was:" Aaaaaahhhhh" When you young and you show off, it is cool, but when you lose self- control, you can lose everything....Vania,God bless you, but don't be an idiot, take care yourself)))))))
Agree, sometimes it is so difficult to watch his dance because of his manners but it doesn't mean that he is a bad dancer. It always irritates me, when people start talking about his personality. Who cares?
He engages his partner more than most Russian dancers, looks at his partners more than the audience. He gets carried away by his passion and enjoyment of what he is doing. This is wonderful to watch, but one worries about injury. Wonder what his knees and back will be like at age 40 ?
the part that begins at 3:33 ALWAYS makes me cry...it just gets me every time... is it true they are engaged? if they are...what a beautiful couple, honest...both are brilliant and emotional dancers...can you imagine how beautiful and exiting it will be seeing them dance on stage when they are married? ...so genuine
l saw all posted about him,he is going better ,stronger day after day his tecnique seems have not limits in my opinion is the next superstar .corrella is not clean,no comparation.
they are so cute! especially natalia, and I think somebody has given her a kiss on the cheek because it looks like she has a hint of lip stick there :)
he is so fast and powerful, have you seen his Actheon variation? The only ones as fast as him are Corella (i don't like him) and Yonah (great), as far as i've seen lately.
@kiri1651 please never compare dancers so far in the time among them.vakhtang was phenomenal in his time, and his influence in male dancing is priceless, but tecnique evolved.surely anyway chabukiani is legend, great .
To me she never builds to a climax , its just frosting all the time . She dosnt control her power , Is she sad, is she gonna kick his ass , is she gonna mop the floor with her arms all over the place ...I dont know ??
Well, I don't agree with you on Vasiliev, I think he is so wonderful and definately deserves to be put in a more mature role. For as young as he is, he has become so refined. I think however, what makes a great ballet partnership is when you have an extremely classical ballerina to temper the male dancers more flashy moves. Osipova looks very out of control, and not that she can't get better, but I think Vasiliev has surpassed her dancing and acting wise. She also seems to be off the music alot.
Let me disagree with you, because those two dancers can't be compared. Tsiskaridze proved that he is the best. Vasiliev doesn't do the elements clearly and it seems that he is gonna fail after each difficult element. He doesn't have the musicality that Tsiskaridze has and it seems that he improvises a lot. We all know it is not allowed in the classical ballet. So on...
imho, miss osipova's tecjnique is sublime, but... this is too lively for Nikia, a priestess, you can feel every transition from one step to another, just because she's too young to invest in the role the inner side. As a result, it looks too Don Quixotish. I guess, in some years, when she gains some life experience and learns things abt love, she would undoubtedly add to the emotional constituent and become a veritable Nikia. Meanwhile, good, solid performance, but not a role to be proud of.
Vassiliev may jump high, but he lacks the elegance, charisma and good looks of the bad boy of ballet! You all know who I mean, the one and only Sergei Polunin!

I've not seen grand jetes done more beautifully than by Ms Osipova.
I need to see on onstage before she retires!
O my god,I get the shivers everytime I see her dancing, and get so emotioned when I see la bayadere, and they are so good as a couple
She is so cute, divine, beautiful ballet dancer with powerful charisma on the stage.
Ivan is a young lion and one of the most powerfull and the most amazing dancers in the whole world.
Unbellievably Talented and charismatic!!!!
I can't even understand a word but I'm watching and watching over and over again

Osipova - priceless deity of ballet. When you look at her dance - really shed tears.

here ivan is really stunning.
Stephanie Cruvant What original choreography?
Thank you. They made a truly outstanding couple , both on stage together and separately. They are both truly unique dancers 👏👏👏🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Os maiores entre os maiorais. A simplicidade deles é comovente!

06.18...phenomenal.
The height of his leaps is astonishing.
Wow...😊🇬🇧🎼❤️🌈🎼🇬🇧😊
I love them as a pair - and Vasiliev's jumping is nothing short of spectacular (as is Osipova's.)
pleeeeease tell me they're in love i swear ever since i saw their interview from Don Q when they both first started to rise as stars i could tell something special was there between them, you can't find a better partnership than these 2.

Wait, this was performed at the Bolshoi Theatre? Wasn't the Bolshoi closed down for renovation and re-opened only days ago? I'm a bit confused.

9:13 oh em gee....
Good comment. Those mistakes are also apparent in this video.
i've seen maybe 2 or 3 other guys on youtube who can do really good cabrioles :P Kumakawa being one of em ^^
Ivan is probably best though, he flies ^^
@kiri1651 please never compare dancers so far in the time among them.vakhtang was phenomenal in his time, and his influence in male dancing is priceless, but tecnique evolved.surely anyway chabukiani is legend, great .

I like crazy moment between them at backstage, when Vasiliev start his ugly face to Osipova while holding her waist, wkwkwk.
Let me disagree with you, because those two dancers can't be compared. Tsiskaridze proved that he is the best.
