What are your thoughts on the focus on flankers for fragrances these days? Which do you feel are the best flankers for each of your favourite lines?

Hi Omar, I bought a bottle of Mr. Maritime after testing it because I liked it so much. I think it’s an all around bargain for how unique it is, the performance, and the price. It’s quickly become one of my favorites out of my 30 fragrance collection.
Hi Omar - I wanted to say that I love your videos, your level of expertise, the high production value, and your personality. I got into this cologne “journey” a few months ago, and like a lot of people im sure, I began eating up any content I could find, and I found yours to be the best out of the major fragrance RUclipsrs. You have so many solid, entertaining, and informative videos.
With that being said, I agree that these last set of videos (not all, but most) feels like you’re repeating a lot of the same fragrances over and over. I don’t say this as criticism, but more as a way of maybe it’s time to start expanding in video ideas. We get that you really, really like YSL. blue electrique… maybe instead, how do you feel about new fragrance releases? More public reaction vids? What got you into fragrances? If you have a significant other, or other close friends, getting their thoughts on specific fragrances?
I love your stuff and will continue to support you, but there is a reason why the current top comment (by far) is complaining about monotony.
Totally agree with the Allure Blanche and the Guerlain Lhomme ideal extreme. Both amazing, can't stop sniffing either.

I would include the JPG Le Male Le Parfum as the best in there line. You might be agree in this. 😊

Great takes. Pretty much have the same taste/style in choices. I have Sauvage EDP and Elixir. May or may not get the Parfum. I don't wear Sauvage everyday but these two pretty much cover all the bases on their own.
Video idea! Make a video explaining the most common and popular fragrance-related words and lingo. Such as performance, sillage, projection, concentrations, DNA, fragrance "houses," niche vs. designer vs. Indie vs. middle eastern, fragrance lines, flankers, reformulation, clones, what notes mean, naturals, synthetic molecules, etc.
I remind hearing about l'Homme Ideal Extreme on this channel and picking a sample and remaining completely stunned by the fragrance. It is very different from what i usually wear but it's so good and has something i never smelled in other frags in there. I also tried Prada l'homme intense but it reminds me too much of baby powder... maybe i'm not that much into iris perfumery, i get the same feeling with DHI.

y edp intense is my signature for all year round, loved it when i first smelt it such a good dumb reach
Allure Edition Blanche EDP is sooooo good my current favorite fragance, also it lasts decently I get around 9 - 10 hours
Y EDP is my personal best flanker imo. Best of all time.

Try the new SWY Tobacco if you can get your hands on it. It's quite nice. I am aware it's only available in selected countries at the moment.
Review L'Humaniste by Frapin! I know you're a fan of Edition Blanche!! They're quite similar in the drydown!
y edp gets me mad compliments but i start to hate it after sometime and sometimes makes me sneeze a lot but performance is elite
I don't mind flankers as long as they're different but similar in 1 or 2 ways
I would probably get Y EDP over the Elixir if there’s very little difference between the Elixir & everything in the line.

As much as I would love for the frag industry to shift towards more unique creativity I think the status quo of flankers and "flankering" flankers and following trends is here to stay.
These companies mainly prioritize profits so if they see one brand has major success with a particular fragrance they feel the pressure to emulate it to try and capture some of that sales market. So the endless cycle of chasing trends continues it's make an Eau Intense, then an Elixir and also the flavor of the year trends Blues, Oud flanker, a Prive, this year the top two trends seem to be 'Green' fragrances, and adding a Coffee note twist. (other than the Elixirs)
I will say there are a few houses that don't seem to follow and chase trends. Gucci has always been pretty unique and out there most of the Guilty line is very unique and kind of challenging (although even they did an Elixir as well) Hermes, and Guerlain seem to stick with their own thing, and still make quality fragrances.

Finally! Someone who agrees with me on sauvage. All of my friends have the elixir but to me the parfum is the richest out of the line.
I prefer the EDT myself…tends to be more metallic but I like the dry down better

I'm not sure how you compare the new Aqua di Gio to Essenza and not Profumo. The new parfum is completely profumo. If there's a difference most people cannot tell. I don't think the opening is as biting as the original perfumo, but to me this smells like nothing else but profumo.
Disagree with his comments about Prada l'homme (OG). It's bloody amazing! Not a "poor man's version" of any fragrance. Smells so professional.
Y Intense is indeed the best from the line. It's more mature IMO.

I have a 2022 bottle and wore it tuesday. 5 sprays. People outside 10ft away from me were saying they can smell something phenomenal in the air 6 hours after application
I completely disagree with Prada L'homme. Prada L'homme Intense is a beautiful scent, don't get me wrong and it's a masterpiece and I get that you don't care for Prada L'homme but it's a beautiful fragrance, extremely versatile and classy. Can't go wrong with Prada L'homme.
I have one problem with BDP parfum, it seems incredible in the opening but after 1-2 hours, it is just WOOD WOOD WOOD...

It isn't. Profondo is much more refreshing.
Is SWYA and Jazz Club almost identical? like would it be redundant if I own both of them? Based on description they both seem to be sweet, boozy and good for romantic date-nights
i have a jazz club decant and its pretty much not sweet at all for me
No I wouldn’t say they’re identical, Jazz Club differentiate itself with how it is less thick and focuses more on the tobacco, it is less ‘romantic’ and more ‘sexy’ I would say

Agree. It is the nicest/freshest of the line, but the longevity is poor, edt concentration of course. If they produce it in edp/parfum then you have a winner 👍🏼

U can use Vaseline or put the fragrance on ur clothes to make it last longer

I would say it’s safe in general, the 2017 version or the most recent reformulation from 2022 is great too

Completely disagree about YSL Intense. Might just be my nose but I can’t stand that stuff. Super boring and generic. The EDP is much better imo
The Chanel Bleu Parfum I found to have disappointing projection. For the price, it’s a buzz kill. Some of the worst performance I’ve ever had and worst projection.

Stronger With You - Intensely smells great but performs SO BAD. It’s even worse than La Nuit De L’homme. Maybe it’s been reformulated, but if you’re reading this, don’t buy it.
Idk I have Stronger with you intensely and it last eazy 10h, maybe it was reformulated but mine is perfect

i think it's structured in a way that if a random new watcher comes in, they will still be up to date on whats good. u just find it repetitive because u watch all his videos, u can say the same thing about Jeremy Fragrance really.

i find this approach better than other frag reviewers which every day release 2 videos with 10 different frags claiming they are all the 'top ten panty droppers'. I mean, how can they be the best ones if they keep changing them... if everything is good nothing really is.
Watch the perfume guy for niche/expensive, Gents Scents for designers, and Joy Amin for cheapies. This guy doesn’t really buy fragrances like that
