They featured the dance songs we all know and love and people were coughing up good money for the tickets. The sad thing is, almost 80% of the artists weren't featuring in the shows! They had random people passing off as the original band members or vocalists. All they did was play the backing track and mime to the songs. Janice is no exception to being the victim of this. Livin' Joy have been touted as part of the 90's tour and its some random londoners who are making the money from Janice's records. Its disgusting. Livin' Joy haven't been an act since the early 2000's. Sadly it's happening to a lot of the 90's acts also, like Cappella. I honestly think this is why she returned to the X Factor so people would know the face of the person that wrote the successful record and sang it.

I don't know the history of Dreamer (although I have it still in my vinyl collection) but it's highly likely she was a session singer back in the day (maybe still, I don't know) and she was simply hired to sing the song. You don't owe a session singer anything other than to honour your side of the deal, which is usually just to pay them their session fee. They usually don't even get royalties.
