I was born same year. He was in the middle of it all and an icon... I was a hippie too, and only recently realized we were being Psy-Op-ed. My macro view is; If you are successful in a sick society... Not impressed with the youngest ever editor of the NYT.
Glad you recognize it! Frankfurt School, Tavistock Institute, Laurel Canyon, social engineering and ‘long march through the institutions’. But why is it always the same people at the top!?
younger generations have to thank these guys for destroying the oppressive society we had in the 60's and bringing the great utopia we are enjoying now
When I was a student at SVA, Brad Holland was kind enough to recommend me to Steve Heller, at the New York Times. I stayed up all night when fascist dictator Francisco Franco died, and brought in a drawing of peasants dancing joyously around a large mound with Franco's enormous boots, and Generalissimo hat. "For you and me, this is a happy day," said Steve Heller, "but for the New York Times, it is a sad day for the people of Spain." He did give me an assignment for a little spot drawing on the Letters page, but I had been up all night, and was dumb enough to tell the then hairy Heller that he resembled Toulouse Lautrec. He never hired me again! Good luck, Steve, and thanks for giving me my first job. xxxHarry Pincus
