    I have never commented on a RUclips video but wanted to share some unsolicited thoughts. I have been following you and rooting for you for a while and that second set against Bogdan was my favorite style of play yet. It seems pretty clear to me that you are at your best when you strike first and don’t fall into the slice battles or percentage shots. Your serve and forehand are big and your volleys are amazing. Obviously easier said than done but I think you are at your best when you play offensively, redirecting backhands, jumping on forehands, and coming to net with the intention to finish the point quickly. You should feel really confident after that set and wish you continued success!

      This is very good advice. There's been at least 10 videos where Felix is behind and then he goes "I decided to be more aggressive and play serve and volley" and then he gets back into the match. This should be the standard play, not the "I'm behind lets try something" play.

    Playing a top 400 player is no joke, coming from food poisoning too. You did amazing in the second set especially.
    Felix, many pros utilise strategies to approach the net where they make most of their points from. I think you being so good at the net especially seeing this with your double games, you could definitely make a huge difference in your approach and results.
    Anyhow, armchair coaching aside; you're doing amazing.
    Cheers,

      Yeah, his talent level is there but I think he has big struggles with keeping at that level for the whole matches. It even happens at the highest of levels. Hundreds of people can compete with djokovic for some points and even a game or two, but not for numerous games or sets.

    u said it well at the beginning of the second to come to the net pretty often. ive seen players play really aggresive against opponents like bogdan and it usually works cuz their slicing is a freeway ticket to an easy net approach. just takes time to realize this is the strategy to go for so the first set is kinda just figuring it out

    Interesting. The pattern I always see is that the guy who gets emotionally invested -- super stoked because he is playing out of his mind -- is generally at a disadvantage. The ideal is to be always AT that higher level. That's what seemed to be the case with this Bogdan cat. He was just one level up. But of course any level we can TOUCH even temporarily we can BE at permanently with just a tad more time under the belt.

    Um... Mr. Felix Mischker I have a question that I'm getting a lot of mixed responses from my coaches. My question is: I play tennis, and table tennis. However, at certain times when I'm playing tennis, I get the feeling of just tryna change my grip to a table tennis grip (PENHOLD) and I just miss the ball. What do I do?

  • @sak079
    @sak079 День назад

    His hair was outrageous 😂. What is noticeable is how many balls he gets back - you have to win the point twice to really win the point. I did think you were quite passive against his slice - yes it was low and deep but I was surprised to see you engaging in slice battles - your backhand has improved so much, I did think you could have taken those on more and attacked that slice. Easy for me to say sat on the sofa obviously 😂

    very interesting game and even more interesting was your take on the game. The big difference in games like this between winning and losing is psychology. Psychology plays such as big part. For example, we know from research that the more you win the more likely you are to win in a future match, however, the same is true for losing. However, there are ways to increase your winning. One simple tactic to start with is to set a goal you are 100% sure you can win. This can be anything like walking faster on the court than your opponent. But this needs to be practiced in training. You build up the level of difficulty of your goals as you practice this. Two things will happen. First your brain will starting to really like this feeling of winning and want more. The second and just as important if not more important, is at your present level it builds resilience especially to failure. Over time you would find your ability to stay focused for longer during a match without the mind drifting off ( which happens to everyone) become much longer. That allows you to think tactically with more clarity and you find you are thinking a few more shots ahead even when you are defending or on the back foot. Of course this all takes a bit more practice. But everything takes practice and maybe a little bit of luck. Keep it going and I am sure you will get where you want to get to.

    Once you realize you are at your best when serving and volleying, your confidence will go through the roof. Resorting to slicing a player who's slicing is just not your type of tennis. You have great hands, awesome fitness and footwork, and a decent serve. Feed off those skills and dominate at the net. You got the game, leverage your skills and work on being mentally strong. You are better than most of the players in the video, you just need to believe and execute.👍

    I'd love you to think about the language you use in your video and apply it to your gameplay. "The PRESSURE was mounting." Pressure is something we place on ourselves or apply to others. When I coach young players, it's about mindset first to establish a baseline/foundation for how they approach the game. How do you remove the perceived 'self-pressure' and apply pressure to the opponent? If you could do that more consistently, how much better and enjoyable would tennis be for you? The difference between a craftsman and a master craftsman is their vision and how they use all their tools. It's just something to think about.

    against bogdan kind of player who plays off beat style of tennis to trip you up. you need to be able to paint the corners Felix. with a change of pace in your shots. the shots should stay with the same form but they should have varying speeds. and when the time is right you paint the corners with a rally winning flat shot or a deep drive with top spin. I think you are still not at the level where your top spin has enough spin to achieve depth without compromising your shot speed and spin but you can try that. from now on the higher you go the more these kinds of players you will face, 25K to the challengers level is where players start developing variability in their game style so keep that in mind. Keep progressing.👍
