Andrew Krause: A world of mathematical patterns

Assistant Professor Andrew Krause is a mathematical biologist who specialises in non-linear dynamical systems. In this interview, Andrew discusses how to model a range of biological processes and other dynamical systems, from human fingerprint pattern formation to Alan Turing's chemical theory of morphogenesis.
Along with Benjamin Walker and Adam Townsend, Andrew created VisualPDE.com, a unique (and fun) tool to visualise numerical simulations of equations in applied mathematics.
Andrew visited SMRI from Durham University in June 2023, hosted by Professor Peter Kim at the University of Sydney.
