    Excellent video. I enjoyed the whole flight (I confess I often jump to the landing on flight videos). Perhaps a range check might have avoided the little problem you had on the first flight?

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  Год назад

      No way to range check Crossfire and no need to if RTH works as demonstrated here. Better to hot glue the antenna to the receiver

    • @belperflyer7419
      @belperflyer7419 Год назад

      @@EssentialRC I find that difficult to understand. However sophisticated the data, it still relies on the RF signals passing between the transmitter and the receiver which can be checked for signal strength. In fact, you actually get an audio and displayed message which says that the receiver signal is lost as well as the usual 'Telemetry Lost'/'telemetry regained' messages that are common in the workshop when tx and rx are too close. That would have shown up with a range check. Moreover, the transmitter itself would display an RSSI reading when in its range check mode - at least my Horus does and presumably all modern transmitters do.

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  Год назад

      @@belperflyer7419 Crossfire doesn't have a specific range check mode which reduces power (e.g. like Spektrum where you put it in that mode and walk 30 metres away). This issue might have been caught by walking 50 metres away and seeing RSSI drop but now we know it happened we'll just be careful to ensure the push on antenna does not come off. Maybe a bit of hot glue. Jason has more experience of CRSF that I do. He may chip in with his thoughts.

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  Год назад

      You've got 4 wires from the airunit to the FC. Could be you have the RX and TX wires plugged into the wrong pins on the FC. That's the typical problem. I'm assuming you've got iNav configured to show OSD.

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  Год назад

      And that cable has a plug already on it for the FC end I guess so wires to pins would be correct...but check TX DJI wire goes to RX FC pin. Assume you get the FPV image but not any OSD. I'm mystified if that's what is happening. I'm on iNav 6.1 so need to tell it it is DJI protocol as opposed to Walksnail etc but don't think that's in 5.1 otherwise would suggest that as cause. If I think of anything else I'll drop a comment.

      Reviewing the video you think maybe you touched the sticks too early to take back control from RTH mode? It was over the trees and was rolling side to side. Maybe difficult to see? All good learning. I thought it was fantastic to see the technology intervene and save it.

    Great video, thanks for the demo! Noob question: if we flew the Swordfish with a Spektrum receiver, Fatshark goggles, and a simple FPV camera it could RTH automatically if it got to far away or lost signal? If it loses signal completely and doesn't come back can it land itself? Love to try it if so!

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  Год назад

      Yes, if you can connect a Spektrum receiver to the 405 flight controller. Not sure if you can do that. I suspect not. DSMX is terrible protocol for FPV anyway. Jason used Crossfire but looking in the manual seems you can use anything that supports SBUS. cdn.shopifycdn.net/s/files/1/0377/3051/7125/files/Swordfish_Manual_221024_58acb935-52d9-466f-954d-8ecc6693fdab.pdf?v=1673509689

    • @randall8686
      @randall8686 Год назад

      The software is pre programmed to come home and land on signal loss. If you then come back within range of your tx signal you can take control again. It wont land away it will always try to come home first. Spektrum is a poor choice for fpv but it will work if you really want to use it. But you are better off with ELRS or Crossfire.

    • @victorbeauchamp5511
      @victorbeauchamp5511 Год назад

      Great! We're all Spektrum so could I add a Crossfire Backpack to fix the problem or is it the Spektrum receiver that's the problem?

    • @randall8686
      @randall8686 Год назад

      @@victorbeauchamp5511 if your radio has a module bay then you can fit crossfire tx and rx. The problem with spektrum is its short range and if you fly behind stuff you will loose signal

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  Год назад

      @@victorbeauchamp5511 I wouldn't use Spektrum at all for FPV. Crossfire and ELRS are best...after that I use FrSky ACCST 2.4Ghz receivers. Spektrum is over priced and poor quality compared to RadioMaster and the gear we use.

    Thanks for the video after watching your video ı ordered swordfish 👌🏻 RTH and T16s II and Dji O3 😬
    I have Dji Avata with integra goggles
    I guess O3 and goggle integra works together.
    But I have no idea about how to setup them and how to create OSD
    Could you please advise me which setup good. Inav or ardupilot or beta flight. Also head tracking setup is easy or complicated.
    Thanks 🙏

      RTH version already comes with iNav flashed and configured Swordfish on its flight controller so you should stick with that. Best to watch some videos about iNav and what it can do first. Just search on RUclips.
